The present study seeks to explain the techniques and procedures, the concepts and categories with which the interpretation of the object studied, that is - documents related to the High School  Technical Professional Education Policy - implemented in Bahia / Brazil, specifically, the reference regarding Paul de Bryne’s quadripolar approach (1977), which provide the theoretical-methodological density of the object studied in relation to the epistemological, theoretical, technical and morphological poles. In this perspective, it is agreed with Gamboa (1987), in the sense that, the accomplishment of a research is not the fulfilment of ‘methodological ritualism’ with a ‘theoretical fad’ in order not to repeat what commonly happens in research in education, in progressively more intense way, of eclectic attempts that randomly collect techniques, methods and theoretical references without a clear understanding of the epistemological foundations and the philosophical implications of the different paths of knowledge.

Mathematical communication skills are one of the competencies that students must have in the 21st century.  This study aims to anylize and describe students’ mathematical communication skills in terms of self efficacy on the polyhedrons material. The research used descriptive qualitative methods. The subjects were 9 grade students of An nashichah private junior high school selected purposively.  Data was collected through online test, questionnaires and interviews using WhatsApp. The data analyzed through 3 stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results showed that the students’ mathematical communication skills were low. When viewed from students’ self efficacy, high self efficacy students have high mathematical communication. Meanwhile, low and moderate self efficacy students have low mathematical communication skills. The use of Whatsapp media is not able to support students mathematical communication skill and self efficacy. The tachers need to design learning media to help students improve their mathematical communication skills and self efiicacy.

This study aims to determine the level of mathematical literacy skills in the integrated thematic book on the theme of saving creatures in grade 6 used by the students. This research approach is descriptive qualitative and the type of research is literature. Primary data sources are integrated thematic books on the theme of saving living beings in grade 6 and secondary data sources are references to support students' mathematical literacy abilities. The data processing technique is done by editing, organizing, and drawing conclusions. The data analysis technique used is the content analysis which aims to provide systematic and printed written information and discussion. The results showed that the mathematics literacy skills of students in grade 6 SD were at level one, two, and three. Level three explains that students can carry out procedures clearly, including procedures that require sequential decisions.

The aims of this study is to find out and analyzed about students’ influences of Computer-assisted assessment (CAA) It is the case study and field research of one school in Nusa Dua Badung-Bali. The data sources chosen in this study were several high schools that carried out online examinations at Nusa Dua Vocational high school Bali-Indonesia. Data collection is done by random sampling from data sources, observation, interviews, recording, and note taking. Distribution of questionnaires was also carried out to strengthen data analysis. Data is analyzed based on the formulation of the problem and the study of theory that has been, then analyzed in qualitative description. The descriptive study used paper-based surveys and interviews for data collection. To obtain information about the students’ influences of Computer-assisted assessment (CAA). Based on our review and study result, there are some influences that found. The Computer-assisted assessment (CAA) systematics is held with the aim that students become more critical and independent in solving the questions given.

Background/Context In high schools, student readers navigate different classrooms, disciplinary domains, teachers, peer groups, and texts. Research suggests that through these ever-shifting contexts, youths demonstrate varying literacy skills and identities. Yet, schools assign static labels to students (e.g., struggling reader), and little research has examined how youths’ reading changes across classroom spaces. Purpose/Objective During this school year-long study, I shadowed youths identified as struggling readers across their classes to examine (a) how their reading-related skills, practices, and identities varied and (b) what classroom contexts appeared to mediate their reading. Participants Focal participants were 8 ninth graders identified as struggling readers, 14 comparative peers, 8 teachers, and the school literacy coach. Research Design I conducted a two-phase qualitative study in a culturally and linguistically diverse high school. During an initial ethnographic phase from September to November, I conducted open-ended ethnographic interviews and made observations to identify contexts that appeared important in mediating youths’ reading. Then, during a structured phase from December to June, I used protocols to conduct semistructured interviews and weeklong shadow observations of eight students identified as struggling readers, and I compared their experiences to those of youths not labeled as such. Data Collection and Analysis Data sources were 425 hours of observation, 66 interviews with youths and teachers, reading assessments, and school artifacts and records. I used constant comparative analysis to systematically and iteratively code across all data sources. Conclusions/Recommendations Analysis showed that students’ and teachers’ interactions with particular classroom contexts not only identified reading difficulty but also constructed “struggling readers” regardless, sometimes, of students’ skilled, engaged reading. Overall, youths tended to participate in limiting contexts that positioned them as deficient readers. However, when classroom contexts focused on disciplinary literacy and building trusting relationships, youths positioned themselves as readers and learners. I discuss these promising, albeit rare, classroom contexts with attention to the pivotal role that student-teacher interactions played in constructing the contexts over time. Findings have implications for the reconceptualization of adolescent reading difficulty, the organization of secondary literacy programs, and future directions for adolescent literacy research.

This chapter explores a range of encounters between modernism and school-children. Focused most sharply on the work of Marion Richardson, teacher of art at Dudley High School for Girls, it ranges across arts education policy in Britain in the early twentieth century and some other initiatives designed to get abstract art into the classroom. Richardson, in particular, has hardly been attended to by modernist scholars, but her work at Dudley, and later at the London County Council, was crucial in transforming the teaching of visual art across Britain.

As more districts and states mandate successful completion of algebra as a prerequisite for high school graduation, teachers are struggling with issues of implementation. The Editorial Panel is seeking manuscripts that explore this important topic. How do we make algebraic concepts accessible to all students? How do we address the backgrounds, needs, and interests of diverse student populations? How are programs developed that combine curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment in ways that support students' reasoning and engagement in meaningful content?
