In the present research, the relationship between mental health and academic achievement in adolescents was investigated. The research adopted meta-analysis model to investigate the relationship between these two phenomena. In the meta-analysis, 13 independent studies were included, and their data were combined to display effect sizes. According to the result of the research, it was indicated that there was a positive relationship between mental health and academic achievement. Also, it was revealed that there was no significant relationship within sub-group variation in the relationship between mental health and academic achievement in terms of year of publication, publication type, community, and sample size, but not the setting.

Previous research suggests that gains in positive mental health (often termed flourishing, wellbeing, or competence) is associated with stronger academic achievement. This study examines the relationship between positive mental health at school entry and academic achievement at Grade 3, drawing on a representative sample of Australian children with linkage to results of standardized academic testing. Propensity score analysis was used and small positive associations were found between positive mental health and most academic outcomes. Associations were modest in size but sustained over the 3-year period and were similar across a range of academic skills. Future intervention research should assess the potentially wider ranging impact of targeting positive mental health outcomes in the early years of schooling.

The present study examined attachment to God and quest as potential moderators of the relationship between religious doubt and mental health. A sample of Christian participants ( N = 235) completed a survey which included measures of attachment to God, quest, religious doubt, and mental health. As hypothesized, attachment to God and quest significantly moderated an individual’s experience of religious doubt. Low avoidant attachment to God (i.e., a more secure attachment) was associated with a more negative relationship between cognitive religious doubt and positive mental health than high avoidant attachment. In contrast, low avoidant attachment to God also ameliorated the positive relationship between affective religious doubt and mental health problems. Low anxious attachment was associated with a stronger negative relationship between both measures of religious doubt (i.e., cognitive and affective) and positive mental health. In addition, high soft quest weakened all four of the relationships between measures of religious doubt and mental health. High hard quest ameliorated the positive relationship between both measures of religious doubt and mental health problems. These results indicate that an individual’s attachment to God and the way an individual is oriented toward religion each play a role in the mental health outcomes associated with religious doubt.

To study the relationship of parents' attitudes towards teachers, school, and education with the academic achievement of their children, a questionnaire was given to the parents of 1021 Standard 7 pupils (369 boys and 652 girls) randomly chosen from the Standard 7/Year 9 population of 14,765 boys and 26,109 girls. Analysis of variance indicated a positive relationship between parents' attitudes and the academic achievement of their children regardless of whether the children's parents were deceased or alive.

The purpose of this work was to analyze the specific relationship between parental involvement, dimensions of student self-concept and achievement. 503 students of Secondary Education (ESO) and the first year of Baccalaureate course participated in the study. Data were collected using two questionnaires (Family Involvement Questionnaire and Self-Concept Scale for Adolescents) and academic achievement scores. Data were analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance and paths analysis. The results obtained suggest a significant relationship between the dimensions of perceived family involvement and the dimensions of self-concept (except for parents' praise behaviors). What's more, the relationship between perceived family involvement and achievement is partially mediated by the academic self-concept.

Management of working capital is a fundamental aspect of finance. This is because it affects the church's liquidity and financial sustainability. The study sort of establishing the relationship between working capital and financial sustainability for selected Christian denominations in Ghana. Using bivariate correlation application in SPSS 23, the financial statements from 2013 to 2017 of 15 Christian Council of Ghana denominational members conveniently sampled and analyzed. Working capital is represented by liquidity ratios of current ratio, and cash ratio and financial sustainability are epitomized by self-support. The study revealed that there was a positive relationship between working capital and financial sustainability among Christian denomination in Ghana. In a detailed outcome, there was a statistically small positive significant relationship between self-support and cash ratio and statistically large positive significant relationship between self-support and current ratio. The study recommends to churches in Ghana to seek an enhancing relationship between their working capital and financial sustainability to prevent a possible closure of the church. Not-for-profit organizations must seek self-support through income generation and diversification to improve their Liquidity. Again, not-for-profit organizations must have a positive relationship between working capital and financial sustainability in that churches exist because of liquidity.

Emotional Intelligence (EI), defined as the “capacity to process emotional information accurately and efficiently” (Mayer & Salovey, 1995), has recently become one of the most discussed issues in different fields. There has been a great deal of discussion both for and against its potential role in education. In fact, it is argued that there is a significant relationship between EI and success in various aspects of life, including life satisfaction, mental health, self-efficacy, psychological well-being, occupational success, and academic achievement. However, there is a gap with regard to EI and its potential role and application in various fields and contexts. The intention of this paper is to stimulate debate and encourage further research about EI through discussing its definitions, constituents, theoretical framework, measurements, and the criticisms leveled against its alleged unfulfilled promise. Furthermore, we elaborate thoroughly on the directions for future research in this field of study.

Previous research has yielded mixed results with respect to the relationship between religiosity and adaptation in older adults. Most studies show that religiosity is stable over the life span, but that religiosity may or may not be related to such factors as physical and mental health, life satisfaction, and coping. This study adds to earlier investigations by including centenarians among the sample. The preliminary results of this research project support earlier findings that religiosity does not change significantly as one ages, although there is a trend in the results that suggests otherwise. The results also indicate a significant relationship between religiosity and physical health but no significant relationship between religiosity and mental health and life satisfaction. Religiosity and coping are strongly related, and there is the suggestion that religious coping mechanisms might be more important in the oldest-old.

Background: Some life-event experiences such as injuries in car accidents, gun shots and the like, can be life changing and traumatic. Objectives: The article investigated the relationship between mental health and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms after orthopaedic trauma, and attempted to understand whether social support moderates the relationship between mental health and PTSD.Method: A cross-sectional research model was used. Two hundred participants were selected using simple randomisation within a hospital complex in Gauteng, South Africa. The sample consisted of 110 men and 90 women (x̄ = 37.8 years, s.d. = 12.9 years). Data were collected using the Revised Civilian Mississippi Scale for PTSD, the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), and the General Health Questionnaire version 28.Results: The findings of the study indicated that there is a statistically significant relationship between mental health and PTSD after orthopaedic trauma, and a positive correlation between poor mental health and PTSD (r = 0.52, n = 200, p < 0.05). However, perceived social support did not moderate mental health or PTSD, indicating that perceived social support did not significantly influence mental health or PTSD, (MSPSS B = 0.07, p = 0.66). Those with high scores on social support had a lower regression coefficient (B = 0.19) for mental health and PTSD than those who reported low social support (B = 0.26).Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between mental health and PTSD of orthopaedic patients, and social support did not moderate the relationship between mental health and PTSD.

We conducted a meta-analysis by synthesizing the results of 16 studies involving 4,130 teachers to explore whether or not the relationship between teacher efficacy and students' academic achievement was influenced by the scale used to measure teacher efficacy, and/or by the subfactors of teacher efficacy, length of teaching experience, location of the school, or the students' educational level. The results showed that the mean relationship between teacher efficacy and students' academic achievement was significant but the effect size was small. The results also indicated that the relationship was influenced by some teacher efficacy measures and subfactors, and by length of teaching experience. In studies in which the measure used was Gibson and Dembo's scale, in regard to classroom management, and in the case of teachers with fewer than 11 years of teaching experience, the relationship between teacher efficacy and student academic achievement was nonsignificant.
