<p>This research is motivated by a concern to the maritime community in Indonesia and South Sulawesi in particular, which is up to now still very behind compared with other communities on the mainland or degenerate far backward compared with the maritime community in the past royal era (eighth century ~ XVII century: Sriwidjaya, Majapahit, and Gowa~Makassar). This study aims to reveal the negative effect on classical Sufism of maritime community economic behavior, by taking the case to the Pakkaja Community. This study uses Verstehen method is done by "reversed burden of proof". The results showed that the backwardness of maritime community, in particular the Pakkaja Community is rooted in the mentality of weak intention characterized by low productivity, dependence excessively and consumptive lifestyles in their lives, is a negative deflection of classical Sufism, which stuck very strong since early Islamization of the archipelago and Bugis ~ Makassar in particular.</p>

<p>This study aims to reveal the influence of capitalism on the economic behavior of the maritime community, by studying the case of the Pasompe’ Community in the Bugis Makassar Land of South Sulawesi. This research was conducted using the Verstehen method which is the "reversal of the burden of proof" of what is at the "back" of the Pasompe’ Community’s income distribution in the Bugis-Makassar area in South Sulawesi. The results showed that the underdevelopment of the maritime community, especially the Pasompe Community is rooted in the uncultured mentality characterized by the large claim made by owners of capital to the workers, a negative deflection of Western capitalism, which historically has been created since the days of colonialism. Without ignoring the positive side of capitalism, further research also found that the greater the capital invested by the owners of capital (bourgeois) on the one hand and the lower productivity of workers (proletariat) on the other hand in the socio-economic structure of the maritime community, resulted in the ever flourishing uncultured mentality, where it is very clear that people with this type of mentality can not be expected to build maritime civilizations in the future.</p>

AbstractThe flood disaster that struck the Province of South Sulawesi (South Sulawesi) at the end of January 2019, was the worst natural disaster in the past 20 (twenty) years. Of the 24 (twenty four) districts and cities in South Sulawesi, there are 6 (six) districts and cities experiencing very poor conditions, namely the Regencies of Jeneponto, Maros, Gowa, Takalar, Barru and Makassar. As a result of this disaster, tens of thousands of families lost their homes, property was destroyed, social facilities such as schools and houses of worship were also severely damaged and some were destroyed. Even more pathetic, because more than a hundred people died. This results from an imbalance of ecosystems causing serious problems. Community understanding of the need to maintain ecosystem balance is still very low coupled with the socioeconomic situation which makes the community more pragmatic. The problem is, how do you increase the awareness of the community in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem? And how to foster disaster-conscious attitudes and behavior for the community, especially in disaster-prone areas? Therefore, the writing of this article aims to comprehensively examine people's attitudes related to maintaining ecosystem balance and fostering disaster-conscious behavior in the community, especially in disaster-prone areas as an alternative to disaster risk management. The method used is qualitative with the type of case study studies. The selection of informants is done purposively and the data processed are primary and secondary. From the results of this study it was found, the increasingly severe environmental damage became the main trigger of natural disasters that occurred in South Sulawesi at the end of January 2019. This environmental damage, is dominant because of the very exploitative behavior of the community towards the environment. For example, what happened in Gowa district, the big floods that occurred because around the Jeneberang River and Bili-Bili Dam areas - sand mining activities have been going on for decades. Likewise, the Mount Bawakaraeng area, which used to function as a buffer against flooding, has long been deforested as a result of causing landslides whenever there is heavy rain. This condition also occurs in the districts of Jeneponto, Maros and others - these areas are vulnerable to heavy rainfall. To overcome this serious problem, one alternative is to form community groups that are aware of disasters. This strategy of forming disaster awareness groups, by combining approaches from above (government) and from below (the community)   Musibah banjir yang melanda Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan (Sulsel) di akhir Januari 2019, merupakan bencana alam yang terparah selama kurun waktu 20 (dua puluh) tahun terakhir ini.

This research is motivated by a concern to the maritime community in Indonesia and South Sulawesi in particular, which is still very behind compared with other communities on the mainland or degenerate far backward compared with the maritime community in the past royal era (VIII century - XVII century: Sriwidjaya, Majapahit, and Gowa-Makassar). This study aims to reveal the concern of the government on maritime development in the State Bugis Makassar of South Sulawesi. This study uses Verstehen method was conducted through "historical approach" since the period of the kingdom until the reform period. The results showed that the retardation of Bugis-Makassar Maritime Communities in the Bugis-Makassar State was started in inattention government or precisely turned attention both central and local governments from land to sea. Since independence era or period of the republic, government policy in general more focus on the continental policy (to the mainland) in terms of physical potential of this nation is dominant on the maritime potential and this nation has historically also known as the nation's oceans (maritime) than the nation's land. The study recommends to realize what has been painstakingly formulated in Repelita VII up to X, a formula that relies on modernization alignments according to the great potential of maritime nations.

Worsened by the presence of modernization (acceleration technology ~ carbide) that are not relevant to the potential maritime and impartiality of policy makers resulting in further social pathology (each claimed), environmental destruction, and the destruction of the local culture. This study merekomendir necessity of directing the transformation of socio-cultural community of the maritime community in efforts to grow ~ develop economic behavior that mentality kekuat adab ~ karsaan as a major foundation in building a maritime civilization. The Scottish Theoretical Archaeology Group (STAG) conference organisers expressed some doubts about how far theory has changed, and impacted, archaeological establishment and academia in Scotland. In this paper, I will argue that Scotland is certainly not isolated in a theoretical sense, although in the past, Scottish archaeology could be accused of being theoretically conservative, or at least dependent on ideas and models developed elsewhere. A case-study looking at Neolithic studies will be used to illustrate that despite some recent critical historiographies of the study of the period in Scotland, archaeologists in Scotland and those working with Scottish material have been theoretically innovative and in step with wider paradigm changes. The study of the Neolithic in Scotland, it could be argued, has been shaped by theory more than the study of any other period; we are not isolated, but rather part of wider networks of discourse.

Globalisation combined with resources of oil and gas has led to an industrial society in Malaysia.  For the past 30 years, rapid urban growth has shifted from 73% rural to 73% urban population. However, the peak oil crisis and economic issues are threatening the growth of urbanisation and influencing the trends of population mobility. This paper documents the beginnings of a reverse migration (urban-to-rural) in Malaysia.  The method adopted case study that involves questionnaires with the urban migrants to establish the desires, definite intentions and reasons for future migration. Based on this data, it predicts a trend and rate of reverse migration in Malaysia.

Some of the renowned world tourism countries have special peculiarities in character in terms of their nature reserves and built environments; that made them stand out for their attractions and visits. These qualities range from conservation and preservation of nature reserves, built environments- epoch architectural supports over the years; historical heritage; political; religious; socio-economic; cultural; and  high technology that enhance culture. The virtues of multi- ethnic groups and multi- cultural nature gave Nigeria a rich cultural heritage, and she is blessed with natural wonders, unique wildlife, and a very favorable climate. More often than not less attention and importance are placed over the nature reserves and built environments to the detriment of tourism in lieu of other sectors. Summarily the country lacks the culture of conservation and preservation of her abundant resources to promote cultural tourism. Case study strategy was applied in the research tours with reports of personal experiences, documentaries and analyses of sites visited in Europe and Nigeria were highlighted with references to their attributes in terms of structures and features that made up the sites as relate to culture and attraction. The task in keeping rural, city landscapes and nature reserves alive stands out as the secret of communication link from the past to present and the future; which tourism developed nations reap as benefits for tourist attraction.
