Sustainability has been described as the primary moral and economic imperative of the twenty-first century and one of the most important sources of both opportunities and risks for businesses. From an educational perspective, sustainability could be related to enhancing accurate, reliable and relevant teaching and learning in an ever-changing and evolving educational, economic and social landscape. The objective of the paper is twofold: it aims, firstly, to provide a brief overview of the higher education landscape and drivers for change in accounting education and the need for sustainable teaching and learning; and, secondly, it aims to provide evidence of the implementation of a new teaching and learning strategy in accountancy education programmes at a large SAICA-accredited residential higher education institution. This was done through a literature review and supported by empirical evidence obtained from questionnaires completed by the honours student group in chartered accountancy of the stated institution. The study found that, although initially new to students, the teaching and learning approach was well accepted and eventually created an environment conducive to teaching and learning. It was also found that students marks improved, which resulted in higher throughput rates.

In-service upgrading has been an accepted avenue for retraining practicing teachers in Singapore to keep abreast of changing curriculum requirements as well as infusion of information technology (IT) in teaching and learning. To cope with the teachers’ busy work schedules and many school commitments, upgrading courses were offered to the teachers primarily asynchronously, using the Internet platform with some integrated synchronous sessions. This chapter analyzes the rationale for the development of such a Web-based teacher-upgrading program and discusses the main issues of professional upgrading addressed in the development. Issues of adult learning in a learner-controlled adaptive learning environment and lifelong learning were addressed through an IT-infused asynchronous mode, providing the much-needed freedom in time management for the course participants. The development also includes delivery of high definition graphics through a customized hybrid system of CD-ROM and Web that addresses image-downloading bottleneck and thereby overcomes a basic problem of distance learning in geospatial education. Finally, reflections on the attending adult learners’ responses to such an upgrading program are discussed.

The name of the Higher Education Institution will be big, because of the alumni. However, the Informatics Engineering University of Muhammadiyah Gresik (UMG) continues to be required to always improve the quality of its educational process accompanied by efforts to increase its relevance in the context of global competition. Efforts to make improvements both in the academic and infrastructure fields have been carried out. The management of alumni data at Muhammadiyah Gresik University especially Information Engineering has not been overlooked and is still done manually. Alumni data is only stored in piles of paper in the administrative space, this can cause data damage and even data loss. The UMG Informatics Engineering tracer study activity provides an increase in education in teaching and learning activities so that it can improve the subsequent learning process. Therefore, to get information on the indications of lack of implementation of the study program the success of professionalism (career, status, and income) of alumni is needed. The Web-based Tracer Study Information System in Informatics Engineering Muhammadiyah Gresik University will be made easier for study programs to get information on relevant knowledge and expertise (the relationship between knowledge and expertise with work requirements, work scope, professional position) of the alumni. The value of the convenience obtained from the application questionnaire by users is 75.95% rounded up to 76%.

COVID-19 has challenged education systems globally. Traditional teaching and learning activities of more than 1,300 vocational colleges and nearly 11,000 vocational high schools in China have had to be paused and transformed into an online mode. A study had been conducted to trace the unprecedented change which would provide reflections on policies and practical experience worthy of reference for the follow-up development of online vocational education in China and other countries in the world. The study used two methods to collect data: (1) delivering questionnaires to 767 schools, 17009 teachers, 270,732 students, and (2) gathering 110 institute cases from 21 provinces and 170 curriculum cases from 14 provinces. The result showed that vocational institutions coped with the pandemic’s outbreak through online learning and achieved the overall goal of “Not Going to School but Classes still Ongoing.” Further, vocational institutions have faced problems and challenges of online learning in practice training and internship, organization, and technical environment. The development of vocational education in the information era requires thinking about the system-driven reform path and online learning strategy and putting it into action.

The report presents the author’s experience in integrating modern ICT technologies in the process of teaching and learning in school. The emphasis is on the use of mobile devices and the integration of cloud technologies in schools. As an ICT teacher, the author provides some practical guidelines on how to apply innovation. The generation of 7 screens does not know a world without digital technologies and mobile communications. The discrepancy between the expectations of the digital generation and the reality in our schools is in terms of the information and communication technologies (ICT) used in them and the didactic models. Adolescents, when they find themselves in an environment that does not meet their expectations, are demotivated and redirect their attention to other objects and goals and stop being active in class. The use of the so-called. „Cloud“ technologies will significantly increase the interest and retention of students. The modern approach to building information systems is focused on developing solutions in which the collection, input and output of information is carried out through WEB-based applications or platforms.
