Reinforcement of Polymers. II. Effect of Vulcanization on Tear Strength of Filler Rubber Mixes and on Elastomer to Filler Adhesion
Abstract It has been shown that an increase in the adhesion of elastomer and filler always led to a corresponding increase in tear strength. It was of interest to clarify whether this applies to vulcanizates. We have now studied the change in adhesion strength of the elastomer to filler bond and of the tear strength of filled systems in vulcanization.
