Gerhardtia foliicola is reported as a new record for Pakistan. The species is characterized by a reddish brown and hygrophanous pileus, densely crowded lamellae, small sized ellipsoid basidiospores with irregular outline and occurrence on leaf litter and humus in broadleaf forests. Our phylogenetic analysis based on nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (nrITS) region clustered the Pakistani collections in the same clade with G. foliicola sequences from Japan. Detailed description of macro- and micro-characters, habitat, general distribution, and diagnostic features important for delimiting G. foliicola from closely related taxa are presented.

Suillus marginielevatus sp. nov. and S. triacicularis are reported from Himalayan moist temperate forests of Pakistan in association with conifers. Morphologically S. marginielevatus is close to S. sibiricus, S. granulatus and S. intermedius but it can be distinguished by uplifted pileus margin and curved stipe with no ring at all stages. Phylogenetic analysis of internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region showed that this species form separate clade from other closely related Suillus species. Suillus triacicularis represents a new record for Pakistani mycobiota. Field photographs of fresh basidocarps and line drawings of microcharacters are provided along with phylogenetic tree.

A new record of Geopora sumneriana is presented from Pakistan. Specimens were collected under Cedrus deodara trees in Chitral district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province during 2018. The newly reported specimens are illustrated and described using morphological characters and phylogenetic analysis of the internal transcribed spacer region (ITS).

The main objective of the research reported herein is to present an annotated checklist generated from the first survey of myxomycetes in the limestone forests of Coron Island in the province of Palawan, Philippines. A total of 25 morphotaxa were identified from specimens isolated in the laboratory from samples of ground leaf litter, twigs, and vines (lianas) collected from five sites along the coasts and inland forests of Coron Island. Among the identified taxa one (<em>Badhamia macrocarpa</em>) was a new record for the country, while another was temporarily assigned to the genus <em>Perichaena</em> (Trichiida: Trichiidae) until the proper classification of the specimen could be determined. In addition, the present study brings the updated total number of records of myxomycetes for the Palawan group of islands to 56 morphospecies.

Three new species of Russulasection Ingratae, found in Guizhou and Jiangsu Provinces, southern China, are proposed: R. straminella, R. subpectinatoides and R. succinea. Photographs, line drawings and detailed morphological descriptions for these species are provided with comparisons against closely-related taxa. Phylogenetic analysis of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region supported the recognition of these specimens as new species. Additionally, R. indocatillus is reported for the first time from China and morphological and phylogenetic data are provided for the Chinese specimens.

Abstract Ascomycetes mushrooms are fungi that produce ascospores in asci and some with perithecia. Not only they have a role of decomposer in ecology but also produced some bioactive compound, anti-microbial activity, and cytotoxicity. This study aims to explore the diversity of ascomycetes mushroom species in para rubber plantations and to identify them by morphological and sequence analysis of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region. The results found ascomycetes mushroom consist of Trichoderma pezizoides (RP1, % identity 98.79, DQ835513.1), Daldinia eschscholtzii (RP2, % identity 100, MN310384.1), Cookeina sulcipes (RP3, % identity 98.44, KY094620.1), Cookeina garethjonesii (RP4, % identity 99.06, KY094622.1), Cookeina tricholoma (RP5, % identity 100, KY094619.1) and Xylaria terricola (RP6, % identity 88.42, MF577038.1). Most of the ascomycetes in this study have previously been described in Thailand except Xylaria terricola. Additionally, phylogenetic analysis of ascomycetes mushroom showed high genetic relatedness with reference strains. Therefore, the sequence similarity and phylogenetic analysis confirmed the identity of six ascomycetes mushroom species, and further study of bioactive compound from these mushrooms may be investigated for other applications.

To date, there are very few sequence data for Cyperaceae from mainland Southeast Asia. The aim of the present study was to contribute nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequences of selected species of Cambodian Cyperaceae to the overall phylogeny of the family. We generated ITS sequences of 38 accessions representing 26 species from Cambodia and used these sequences for phylogenetic analysis together with similar sequences from the National Center for Biotechnology Information GenBank. Our results corroborate recent phylogenetic work in the family and largely confirm established tribal relationships. The backbone of the phylogenetic tree of species-rich genera that have undergone rapid radiations is often weakly resolved (e.g. in Fimbristylis and in the C4 clade of Cyperus). Cryptic variation was revealed in the taxonomically difficult group of Fimbristylis dichotoma, with samples of this taxon appearing in two distinct clades within Fimbristylis. Further addition of geographically spread accessions of taxa will improve our understanding of the complex biogeographical history of the genera in the family. Eleocharis koyamae Tremetsb. & D.A.Simpson is proposed as a new name for E. macrorrhiza T. Koyama.

Two species of Xanthagaricus discovered in Hubei Province of China are described based on the macro- and micromorphological features. Their identity is further supported by molecular analysis of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) of the ribosomal RNA gene. The phylogeny obtained here showed that one of the Chinese species is nested in an exclusive clade which in combination with its striking morphological features, infers that it represents a new species, named X. ianthinus, while the other species is placed as a member in the X. epipastus clade. Descriptions are accompanied with illustrations of macro- and micromorphological characters and a discussion of related taxa is presented.
