The delay of the school term in China, caused by the Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic, reinforced the importance of remote teaching. The latter enabled teaching operations to continue nationwide and provided colleges and universities with opportunities to carry out education and teaching reforms that are also aligned with the rapid development of technology. Upon considering remote teaching operations in China University of Geosciences, Beijing, this paper puts forward recommendations for teaching and education management practices. We propose that colleges and universities break free from the restraints of traditional teaching methods, establish a security system of online courses, offer high quality online contents, and accelerate the construction and sharing of effective courses.

At the turn of 2019-2020, a new epidemic broke out in China. China has entered the critical stage of epidemic prevention and control. And The severe situation has led to the failure of normal opening of new semester in Chinese colleges and universities. In order to effectively guarantee the education, teaching and talent cultivation in colleges and universities, the Ministry of education of China has rapidly put forward the requirements of launching online teaching. Therefore, under the situation of Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia (Hereinafter referred to as 2019-nCoV) prevention and control, online teaching in Chinese colleges and universities is widely used and develops rapidly. However, the demand for online education has been released in a short time and on a large scale, and each online teaching platform has encountered unprecedented pressure and challenges. In this regard, based on the situation of 2019-nCoV prevention and control in China, this paper demonstrates how the Chinese government deploy online teaching in an all-round way with specific measures, how the Chinese colleges and universities implement massive online teaching quickly, how teachers and students adapt to online teaching quickly. At the same time, this paper carries out empirical analysis to show the process and effectiveness of online teaching in Chinese colleges and universities in the unprecedented state of 2019-nCoV prevention and control with specific examples. On this basis, it analyzes and summarizes the advantages and disadvantages, so as to facilitate the later improvement and provide reference.

Due to its unpredictability, the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has changed the global business climate and commercial management practices in unprecedented ways. As a direct result of the pandemic, the hospitality and tourism sectors have shut down, and business failure rates have occurred exponentially. The franchise hospitality industry has experienced significant impact and challenged a basic understanding of knowledge management (KM) implementation in the face of the COVID-19 outbreak. A strategic KM implementation practice can not only guide a large-scale operation, but also adjust an organization’s performance and competitiveness. The purpose of this study is to examine the influential criteria of success through effective KM implementation and to predict the probability of successful KM in a post-pandemic era. The conceptual framework for KM applies an analytic hierarchical prediction model reliant upon consistent fuzzy preference relations to assist the franchise hospitality sector’s consciousness of the influential criteria. An empirical case study is used to apply pairwise comparisons used to determine the priority weights and two possible outcomes. The case study will assist franchise organizations to analyze whether or not to implement KM, interdict application, or adopt revised actions. This assistance will enhance the success possibility of KM implementation within such a crisis environment. This study uses a case setting by assessing 15 franchises hospitality experts’ opinions in Taiwan relevant to KM implementation.

Along with the popularity of teaching ideas such as quality-oriented education and comprehensive education, colleges and universities are paying more attention to the art teaching and art training of students. Besides, the rapid development of computer technology and its extensive penetration in many fields promote the de-velopment of art teaching management model towards standardization and sche-matizations. Therefore, a university art teaching management system based on JAVA technology is designed. The system chooses JAVA as the main pro-gramming language, eclipse as the development tool, and SSH of Open Source as the basic framework. MVC pattern is used to design the Struts architecture to en-sure the data processing capability of the system, and SQL is used as the backend database to ensure the integrity of the data and the storage efficiency of the sys-tem. After testing, the system meets the expected requirements, changes the tradi-tional university art teaching model, and enriches the dimension of art teaching. What’s more, the system expands the thinking of art teaching work for teachers in colleges and universities, and also satisfies the urgent demand of university students for art training.

This article presents NKI's experiences with online education from the time the idea was conceived in 1985 to the point when the total number of course enrolments exceeded 10,000 in June 2000. The 15 year period covers three generations. The first generation (1985-1994) was characterised by system development and experimentation with emerging technology. The second generation (1994-96) was a period of transition from the EKKO computer conferencing system, which NKI developed for online education, to Internet systems with text-based user interfaces. The third generation, 1996 to the present, began with the introduction of graphic user interfaces and the World Wide Web (WWW) and is characterised by a vigorous expansion and the introduction of large-scale online education.


Today’s new digital technologies and the spread of the internet have created numerous new opportunities and challenges for the education of the future. The rapid development of mobile and ubiquitous computing technology offered more chances to design and develop innovative learning approach with mobile devices in preparing schools and students for a future. In this paper we present case examples and the research results and reflections based on our recent developments and experiences in Thailand regarding how novel pedagogical applications, mobile technologies and software tools can be combined to enhanced students’ learning at all level of education. To the end, we propose a possible direction for the transformation of traditional teaching in science to a novel of mobile and ubiquitous learning in an on-going large-scale educational project in Thailand. This is a challenge of our educational improvement to introduce the novel mobile-assisted learning approach, with the support of mobile devices, into classroom settings, innovative instructional practices and sustainability as the way of future schools in context of Thailand.

The COVID-19 epidemic has severely affected the global economy and social life, but in another aspect, it has brought opportunities for the development of online education. Via the varieties of network platforms and digital learning resources, more than 200 million students ranging from primary and secondary schools to colleges and universities across China have achieved the goal of “no class suspension”. Under such circumstances, the present study attempts to add ideological and political education into the online courses by modifying the existing online quality courses to some extent. It is mainly to try to carry out the localization reform in every aspect of the curriculum, and then to test whether such reformation can get the corresponding effect in the actual teaching process.

Comparisons of grade based learning outcomes between online and face-to-face course formats have become essential because the number of online courses, online programs and institutional student enrollments have seen rapid growth in recent years. Overall, online education is largely viewed by education professionals as being equivalent to instruction conducted face-to-face. However, the research investigating student performance in online versus face-to-face courses has been mixed and is often hampered by small samples or a lack of demographic and academic controls. This study utilizes a dataset that includes over 5,000 courses taught by over 100 faculty members over a period of ten academic terms at a large, public, four-year university. The unique scale of the dataset facilitates macro level understanding of course formats at an institutional level. Multiple regression was used to account for student demographic and academic corollaries—factors known to bias course format selection and grade based outcomes—to generate a robust test for differences in grade based learning outcomes that could be attributed to course format. The final model identified a statistical difference between course formats that translated into a negligible difference of less than 0.07 GPA points on a 4 point scale. The primary influence on individual course grades was student GPA. Interestingly, a model based interaction between course type and student GPA indicated a cumulative effect whereby students with higher GPAs will perform even better in online courses (or alternatively, struggling students perform worse when taking courses in an online format compared to a face-to-face format). These results indicate that, given the large scale university level, multi course, and student framework of the current study, there is little to no difference in grade based student performance between instructional modes for courses where both modes are applicable.

The development of high quality online programs requires ongoing commitment and dedication at all levels of colleges and universities. The availability of online programs and courses benefits working adults by making access to graduate education possible. Online education is also advantageous to the growth of colleges and universities by expanding market reach without requiring major capital expenditures for buildings and operational support staff in new locations. Even though there is ease of entry into new markets with online courses and programs, college and university leaders cannot ignore the need for integrating online programs with the entire institution and providing necessary support services to students and faculty. To ensure high quality in online program offerings, support for online programs must be embedded throughout the various departments within the institution. The role of leadership and teamwork is vital to developing high quality online programming and student-centered support for graduate education.

It can also meet the need of individual-tailored service. With regards to the target learners, forms of the contents, course arrangement and studying methods, online education is incomparably superior. Thus the application of online teaching is one of the most effective ways to improve the teaching level. Based on the online courses teaching design theories, combined with the course of the computer operation system, the paper introduces the key technologies related to online course design and development, which is suggestive to other online courses studies.

With the rapid development of computer communication technology, the level of archives information services in colleges and universities continues to improve. More and more universities have created archives management halls to promote digital archives services in depth. As an important part of information resources, the development and use of archive information resources have also attracted the attention of all walks of life. University archives are the pioneers in the development of archives in my country, and their computerization level will directly affect the development and utilization of information resources in my country’s archives. This article aims to analyze the management of online education archives in colleges and universities under the background of big data, analyze the management of online education archives in colleges and universities, and explore the management of archives under the background of online education in colleges and universities. Use the university network archives construction evaluation model calculation and investigation research method to study the current situation and mode of university network education archives management, and provide reference value for the rational connection of various tasks of university network education archives management under the background of big data. The experimental results of this article show that 55% of college students believe that the current college archives need to be combined with the requirements of the development of the times, and it is necessary to innovate the archive management methods of colleges and universities to improve the quality of archive management services in universities and ensure the real-time storage of network information and maximize the development of archive information the value of.
