The responsibilities deployed from the central authorities to local levels acting as first actors of civil protection are a changing pattern in natural hazard management. Prevention and preparedness are long-term goals, rooted in the competence of volunteers, and on the awareness of the citizens as local inhabitants. MAppERS (Mobile Application for Emergency Response and Support) relies on people as “crowd-sourced mappers” through mobiles application. The feedback received from testing and training courses aims to raise participation in a networked disaster response. The goal was to design a mobile application with a real-time dashboard for public citizens and volunteers of civil protection. Two pilot study cases were selected that included trainings on modules, verification of the usability and the quality of the product. The synchronized platform shows the activity of the cloud data collection with a central data dashboard. A first section of the application focuses on floods processes by gathering data from local population, and contributes to awareness and long-term preparedness. The second section of the application tests pre-emergency actions on field with rescue teams, collecting the condition of the hazards.

Purpose. To justify the need to improve the forms of anti-corruption education and the differentiation of its content. Methodology: methods of theoretical research (analysis, synthesis, generalization, abstraction, deduction, induction) and empirical methods (observation, measurement) that provide knowledge of the subject of research. Conclusions. Regardless of the form in which anti-corruption education is conducted, it is necessary for students to understand the unacceptability of corruption in any of its manifestations and to increase the level of corruption awareness, ethical culture in society, and especially among young people. Anti-corruption training and moral education in a broader sense should start with the younger generation. As the future of society, a young generation that values a culture of integrity is fundamental to fighting corruption in the long term. The more they are determined to live by the principles of honesty, justice and openness, the more likely they are to resist corruption. Scientific and practical significance. The aim of the study is to develop theoretical and legal approaches to the assessment of anti-corruption education at various levels of its implementation. In the article, the authors touch upon the legal foundations of anticorruption education of students, reveal the features of the content of training courses on anti-corruption issues and morality, depending on the level of education.

Training of penitentiary psychologists on the educational program «Psychology of official activity» is conducted in two universities of the Federal penitentiary service (FSIN of Russia). An important component of the practical and scientific activities of the penitentiary psychologist is the development, conduct and analysis of various psychological studies that require a high level of development of the necessary competencies. This article discusses the author's methodology IVDRC (Individual vector of development of research competencies), used in the training of penitentiary psychologists in the study of mathematical methods in psychology. The methodology is based on the continuity and professional orientation of training courses, individual approach, support and control of the stages of study of disciplines, the use of information technologies, own methodological materials and manuals. The developed technique is a generalization of long-term experience of teaching mathematical disciplines in departmental higher education institution. The technique of IVDRC has been successfully used for several years at the psychological faculty of the Vologda Institute of Law and Economics of the Federal Penal Service of Russia. To date, more than 150 cadets have been trained using the technology of IVDRC. The article analyzes some results and efficiency of its application using statistical methods.

This chapter aims to elucidate needs and competences of content teachers participating in higher education multilingual programs in order to devise a tailored training program for those contexts in which the language is not used naturally, and in which the teachers usually present some language difficulties to deliver, and students to comprehend, the lessons. The chapter starts with a discussion of the teachers' needs and follows with an analysis of the competences for CLIL teaching, offering a list of indicators which are embraced in three main dimensions: language, methodology, and emotion. These indicators provide the framework for teacher trainers and other stakeholders to design training courses. The methodology of the training has also been discussed and advised, taking the form of workshops, team teaching, reflective teaching, and other options, in both short-term and long-term bases.

Continuously, the relation between education and economic development has been the focus of development researchers’ studies that study long-term growth. While theoretical models recognize education as the key to a country's economic growth (Bassanini and Scarpetta, 2001; Fuente and Ciccone, 2003; Jones, 2005 Bassanini, 2007), the importance of education is very low in empirical models. The reason for this discrepancy is that for a long time education is measured by the years attended in school and not by the knowledge and skills gained, which according to an OSCE study, a student competences growth of 100 points (measuring unit) produces an increase of 2% of GDP per capita. Thanks to this identification, education is recognized as one of the main keys to development.Various empirical studies show that productivity can be increased through training (Barrett and O'Connell, 2001; Scrutinio et al., 2006). In sum, these studies show that pre university, university education and training courses positively affect the increase of production, which in turn can positively affect the economic development of a country. Thus, this article tends to evaluate the role of Albanian human capital in economic development of the country considering the relationship between education and productivity.

This research aimed to explore students’ views towards the use of a critical thinking pedagogical model for vocabulary instruction. From this end, a questionnaire was utilized to collect both quantitative and qualitative data to investigate the students’ opinions about such an educational experience. Data analysis revealed that the meaningful and purposeful critical thinking vocabulary tasks triggered learners’ motivation while engaging their higher cognitive abilities in solving the tasks and enabling them to reflect on their topics based on their personal and life experiences. This challenging process led learners to have more opportunities for practicing ‘elaborative rehearsal’, and as a result, to process the targeted vocabulary deeper. This created a stronger association with the taught vocabulary, which ultimately enabled them to be encoded in the learners’ long-term memory. Based on these findings, the authors recommend that teachers, teacher educators, and curriculum designers should draw upon the findings of these studies and consider the advisability of embedding critical thinking-based teaching methods across all strata of the EFL teaching system: policy documents, curricula, teacher training courses and the language classrooms.

This prospective open comparative non-randomized study was aimed to assess effect of physical rehabilitation on exercise tolerance in Chernobyl clean-up workers with radionuclide-induced pneumopathy. The inpatient training programme included skeletal muscle training of upper and lower extremities and breathing strategies. Of 26 patients, 14 males underwent ≥ 4 training courses during the study and 12 males underwent < 4 courses. As a result, physical rehabilitation in patients with radionuclide-induced pneumopathy improved physical tolerance but it should be more prolonged and be targeted both to skeletal and respiratory muscles. Further studies are necessary to assess long-term effects of rehabilitation in these patients.
