In Ayurveda most of the skin diseases are explained under the term Kushtha. Shwitra is considered as one of the varieties of Kushtha in the Ayurvedic Classics, caused vitiation of Tridoshas and Dhatus like Rakta, Mamsa and Meda. The references of Shwitra are found in almost all the Samhitas like Bruhatrayees and Laghutrayees. Partial or complete loss of skin pigmentation giving rise to white patch on any part of the body is called as leucoderma or vitiligo and in Ayurveda it is called as Shwitra. This depigmentation results due to destruction of melanocytes, which may be unknown in origin or due to autoimmune endocrinopathies selective IgA deficiency. A female patient, aged 20 year suffering from white patches in neck region since 4 year was treated with both Shaman Chikitsa and Sodhan Chikitsa for a period to 4 months with follow up at every 30 days in between, Relief from the complaints was assessed by noting the changes in the size of patch. After 4 months of treatment the size of patch was reduced. The present case study revealed the efficacy of Ayurveda therapy both internal and external for duration of 4 months in the management of Shwitra.

Background: Due to the complexity of the fibromyalgic patient’s condition, therapeutic resources are being recruited to manage the signs and symptoms of patients with this disorder. However, the range of options offered hinders the decision-making of therapists, since the approaches are often heterogeneous. Objectives: The objective was to characterize publications on the effects of physical therapy in patients with fibromyalgia and to investigate the main effects of these therapies. Methods: A search was performed between November 2017 and March 2018 by articles published in the databases PEDro, PUBMED and SciELO from the combination of the descriptors “Fibromyalgia” and “Physical Therapy Modalities”. We included clinical trials involving subjects with fibromyalgia and that approached some physiotherapeutic technique in at least one of the intervention groups. Results: A total of 861 studies were identified. Of these, 28 met the eligibility criteria. In addition, 02 studies were included from secondary sources. There was a predominance of studies published in the last nine years, in which the evaluation instruments of the type questionnaires, inventories and scales were used mainly. In addition, it was possible to observe an improvement in outcomes such as pain, quality of life, sleep, general health, functional capacity, balance, anxiety and depression in patients with Fibromyalgia submitted to techniques such as kinesiotherapy, hydrotherapy, electrothermo-therapy, bandages, among others. Conclusions: The evidences found support the use of physiotherapy as a therapeutic resource for patients with Fibromyalgia, since the techniques studied were beneficial in almost all cases. Bridgeheader is one of the typology of low-income people in the city who assume that the house is only ‘a springboard’ for their life in the city. This group of people dwelt not far from the location of their place to work; occupying marginal spaces in the city and its environment tend to be slump. Almost all areas in the city of Jakarta have marginal spaces, therefore the government attempt to improve the quality of their houses, for example by providing low-cost housing. In fact the low-cost house which was provided by the government failed to be ‘consumed’ by the brigdeheaders at the time when the used value of the house has been turned into market value. The research aimed to determine such approaches of use value of the house that can be ‘consumed’ by the brigdeheader, but did not undermine the space in the city. Data collection methods using practical observation conducted with interviews. While the analysis using descriptive pragmatic method in four case study area in Jakarta. The findings indicate that the concept of house for this group is not determined only by the ‘low price tag’ but also ‘the way of use’ of the space contributed with the result that the house can be ‘consumed’ well.
