CDC Mar ia annual canarygrass, developed at the University of Saskatchewan, possesses glabrous hulls that reduce the skin irritation encountered by farmers during the harvesting process. CDC Maria has higher test and kernel weights, but lower grain yields relative to the pubescent cultivar Keet. Linola™ 989 is the second low linolenic flax cultivar registered in Canada. In western Canada, Linola™ 989 is significantly earlier maturing than Linola™ 947 and Flanders, and has a significant yield advantage over Linola™ 947 in the Black and Brown soil zones. Linola™ 989 is significantly higher yielding than Flanders in the Black soil zone of Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Both Linola cultivars are yellow seeded. Teal is an early-maturing hard red spring wheat best adapted to the Black soil zone of western Canada. It combines early maturity with good yield potential, increased kernel size and leaf and stem rust resistance. It was developed at the University of Saskatchewan from a three-way cross involving BW514 (Nainari 60/Huelquen), Benito and BW38 (UM953A/Neepawa; UM953A = Sonora 64/Tezanos Pintos Precos). This study dealt with the attitudes of university students of Batubara towards Batubara Malay language. The data were collected from 20 university students of Batubara in Medan. The instruments used for collecting the data were observation sheet, questionnaire sheet and depth interview. The data were analyzed by Moleong’s theory. The findings showed that the respondents’ attitudes were: 12 (60%) negative and 8 (40%) positive. The attitudes levels of university students included in negative and positive attitudes namely in: receiving 11 (55%) negative and 9 (45%) positive, responding 12 (60%) negative and 8 positive, valuing 10 (50%) negative and 10 (50%)  positive,  organizing 12 (60%) positive and 8 (40%) negative, and internalizing values 12 (60%) negative and 8 (40%) positive. The factors influenced the university students’ attitudes were language disloyalty 12 (60%) negative and 8 (40%) positive, language pride lack 14 (70%) negative and 7 (30%) positive, in the unawareness of the norms 11 (55%) negative and 9 (45%) positive. Bahasa Indonesia is dominantly spoken by the university students of Batubara in Medan which caused they have less frequency in using their Batubara Malay language with their friends who are from same region in Medan. The results of experimental work carried out on culvert inlet efficiency at the University of Saskatchewan are reported in this paper. Efficiency is reported in terms of coefficient of discharge when the culvert operates with inlet control, and in terms of the coefficient of entrance loss when the culvert operates with outlet control. A larger coefficient of discharge or a smaller coefficient of entrance loss represents a higher efficiency. Seven different culvert inlets were tested for both inlet and outlet control, and for the headwater level both above and below the elevation of the crown of the pipe at the inlet. The results are reported in nondimensional charts. Key words: culvert flow, inlet control, outlet control, efficiency, head losses, capacity.
