Natural isotopic labelling of animal metabolic processes presents great advantages over the use of artificially enriched compounds. These advantages include the use of natural diets, low cost and easiness of handling, sampling and disposal. Changes in the 13C/12C ratio of expired CO2 after ingestion of a test meal containing a variable proportion of C3 and/or C4 plant-derived products permits measurements of the immediate oxidation of dietary carbohydrates. A breathing device for collection of expired CO2 and purification techniques are described. The breath-sampling device is composed of a polypropylene enclosure and a rubber bag. The rubber bag is blown up by the animal and a sample of the expired gas is transferred to a sampling glass holder in which a vacuum had been previously achieved. Sample purification of expired CO2 is done by differential freezing. Key words: Breath device, carbon 13, calf

The position of railcars carrying dangerous goods in a train can affect their involvement in a derailment. A model is presented, which minimizes the number of cars carrying dangerous goods derailing for different marshalling strategies and rail corridor conditions. An application of the model to the Sarnia–Toronto rail corridor is presented. The results of this analysis suggest that marshalling strategies for cars carrying dangerous goods need to be sensitive to corridor conditions that affect the causes of train derailments. Current Canadian Transport Commission directives governing the placement of cars carrying dangerous goods along a train were found to be ineffective in reducing their derailment probability when compared to a low-cost unregulated option. Effective marshalling strategies can substitute for speed controls on the shipment of dangerous goods, resulting in a similar or improved derailment profiles and lower operating costs. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara persepsi terhadap kebisingan dengan stres karyawan PT. PLN (Persero) PLTU Sektor Asam Asam. Subjek penelitian ini adalah karyawan / pekerja lapangan bagian operator mesin pada PT. PLN (Persero) PLTU Sektor Asam Asam, dengan kriteria karyawan / pekerja yang berjenis kelamin pria. Jumlah subjek penelitian sebanyak 40 orang. Subjek dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik purposive random sampling. Subjek penelitian berusia 20 tahun sampai dengan 50 tahun. Tingkat pendidikan subjek penelitian adalah STM Mesin berjumlah 14 orang, STM Listrik berjumlah 9 orang, D1 Mesin berjumlah 3 orang, D1 Listrik berjumlah 8 orang, D3 Mesin berjumlah 4 orang dan S1 Tehnik Mesin berjumlah 2 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data adalah Kuesioner untuk mengukur Persepsi Terhadap Kebisingan dan Skala untuk mengukur Stres. Sebelum digunakan instrumen-instrumen ini diujicoba terlebih dahulu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa koefisien korelasi Persepsi Terhadap Kebisingan dengan Stres adalah ( r = 0,482 dengan p = 0,003 (p < 0,01) ). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa ada hubungan positif antara persepsi terhadap kebisingan dengan stres karyawan PT. PLN (Persero) PLTU Sektor Asam Asam diterima. Jadi, semakin tinggi persepsi terhadap kebisingan, maka semakin tinggi pula tingkat stres, dan semakin rendah tingkat persepsi terhadap kebisingan, maka semakin rendah pula tingkat stres.  Kata kunci : Persepsi terhadap kebisingan, stress This study aims to determine the relationship between perceptions of noise with the stress of employees PT. PLN (Persero) PLTU Sektor Asam Asam. The subject of this study were employees / workers in the field of machine operators PT. PLN (Persero) PLTU Sektor Asam Asam, the criteria of employees / workers who are male. The number of subjects is 40 people. Subjects were selected using purposive random sampling technique. Subjects aged 20 years to 50 years. The subjects education level is STM Machine totaled 14 people, STM Electrical totaled 9 people, D1 Machine totaled 3 people, D1 Electrical totaled 8 people, D3 Machine totaled 4 people and S1 Techniques Machine totaled 2 people. Instruments used in data collection are questionnaires to measure Perception of noise and Scale to measure stress. Prior to use these instruments are tested first. The results showed that the correlation coefficient Perceptions of noise with the Stress is ( r = 0.482 with p = 0.003 (p <0.01) ). This suggests that there is a positive relationship between perceptions of noise with the stress of employees PT. PLN (Persero) PLTU Sektor Asam Asam be accepted. Thus, the higher the perception of noise, the higher the stress level, and the lower the perceived level of noise, then the lower the stress level. Key words : The perception of noise, stress

The objective of this research was to assess and analyse the effect of duties and responsibilities to efficiency and effectiveness of budgets in Procurement Service Units (PSU). The number of research population in this study was 161 participants of whom were the employees of the formed Team Work. A purposive sampling technique was employed to determine that the 50 respondents selected. Data collections were conducted through direct survey. To test research hypotheses, a multiple regression was applied to find empirical results. The results showed that in partial the PSU positively associated with efficiency and effectiveness of budgets in Papua province. This inferred that the first hypothesis was supported. Furthermore, the responsibilities of PSU significantly associated with the level of efficiency and effectiveness of budgets in Papua province. Hence, the second hypothesis was supported. This study was also revealed that duties and responsibilities simultaneously associated with the level of efficiency and effectiveness of budgets in Papua province. Short-term debt is regarded as an important source of financing for Small and Medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This is because it can be easily accessed and useful during times of emergent working capital shortage. However, short-term debt is the least researched among the components of capital structure, which explains why its contribution to the financial performance of small and medium-sized businesses still lacks empirical validation especially in the Ugandan context. This paper sought to determine the effect of short-term debt on financial performance of Small and Medium Enterprises in Uganda. The study adopted a descriptive cross-sectional research design to collect and analyse the data. Stratified random sampling technique was used to select SMEs while purposive sampling technique was used to select one key respondent from each of the sampled 453 SMEs in Uganda. Primary data was collected using survey questionnaire. Data was analysed using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression analysis. The findings indicted that short-term debt had a negative and significant effect on financial performance of SMEs as measured by return on assets. The study provides empirical evidence to support the propositions in the extant literature that short-term debt significantly hampers financial performance of SMEs. The study recommends that SMEs should adopt low cost operation procedures to improve profitability. This would lead to accumulated profits that can be used for investment purposes as a means of driving growth among the SMEs without resorting to borrowing. This paper suggests that further research should be conducted to establish the justification for the negative and significant effect of short-term debt on financial performance using qualitative approaches.

The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is influence of service quality on customer loyalty among "X" airline company. The method used is </em><em>causal comparative </em><em>quantitative research. Data were collected through a questionnaire with a sample size of 250 people aboard with "X" airline company. Purposive sampling technique</em><em> </em><em>was used in this research. The results of this study indicate that there is a positive influence between service quality on customer loyalty with regression value of 0.802 (p = 0.000). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh kualitas layanan terhadap loyalitas konsumen perusahaan penerbangan “X”. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif kausal komparatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner kepada sampel berjumlah 250 orang yang pernah menggunakan penerbangan maskapai penerbangan “X”. Teknik sampling <em>purposive sampling</em> digunakan dalam penelitian ii. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh positif antara kualitas layanan terhadap loyalitas pelanggan dengan nilai regresi 0.802 (p=0.000). Dimensi reliabilitas, jaminan, dan empati adalah tiga dimensi yang paling berdampak terhadap loyalitas konsumen (p&lt; 0.05).  Berdasarkan hasil, direkomendasikan agar perusahaan penerbangan “X” terus berusaha untuk meningkatkan kualitas layanan, terutama dalam hal keselamatan dan untuk menciptakan loyalitas konsumen.</p><p><strong>Kata kunci:</strong> kualitas layanan, loyalitas konsumen, <em>low cost carrier</em>, penumpang</p></div>

To determined whether the service quality of aviation is good can be seen from the ability of the service in achieving the expectation of the customer. This study aims to identify the difference between the expected service and the reality perceived by the customer in relation to the service of Garuda Indonesia airlines in Banda Aceh City.            This study used 99 customers of Garuda Indonesia Airline as the sample which is drawn by applying purposive sampling technique. Data was gathered by using questionnaire and analysis by using statistic tool, average differentiation test (t-test).            The result of statistic test shows t value is greater than the value of t-table. Thus, Ha is accepted while Ho is rejected which means there is average differentiation between the expected service and the perceived service of Garuda Indonesia’s customer            Generally, the customer has relatively good assessment towards the quality of Garuda Indonesia airlines. However, they still hope for better service in order to remains the gap between the expectation and the perceived service. Therefore, it is demanded for the management of Garuda Airlines to improve their provided service quality. Key words: User percepcion, Airline Service and Garuda Indonesia Banda Aceh

Nowadays, internet is an essential contribution to tourism development. The internet offers the potential to make the information and booking facilities. It also provides a tool a communication between tourism suppliers, intermediaries, as well as end-consumers. Gojek is one of transport based application that is currently used by tourists to take advantage of low cost offered. The purpose of this research is to determine the affecting and dominant factor in affecting tourist's decision to use GoJek application. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, literature study and documentation. Sample of this research used purposive sampling technique with number of sampling are 100 respondents, focused on tourists who have been using the GoJek application. This research used six factors which consist of seventeen indicators. The results of factors analyzed affecting interpreted as external factors, psychological, internal, motivation and labor saving. The most dominant factor is external consists by a variable reference, cultural, economic, price competition, perception of security and internet trusted. Factors which eliminated in this research is use every time because tourists not necessarily used GoJek application at any time for order transportation while holiday in Bali.

A newly designed gas-sampling device using end-tidal CO2to separate dead space gas from alveolar gas was evaluated in 12 mechanically ventilated patients. For that purpose, CO2-controlled sampling was compared with mixed expiratory sampling. Alveolar sampling valves were easily controlled via CO2concentration. Concentrations of four volatile substances were determined in the expired and inspired gas. Isoflurane and isoprene, which did not occur in the inspired air, had ratios of end-tidal to mixed expired concentrations of 1.75 and 1.81, respectively. Acetone and pentane, found in both the inspired and expired air, showed ratios of 0.96 and 1.0, respectively. Precision of concentration measurements was between 2.4% (isoprene) and 11.2% (isoflurane); reproducibility (as coefficient of variation) was 5%. Because the only possible source of isoflurane and isoprene in this setting was patients' blood, selective enrichment of alveolar gas was demonstrated. By using the new sampling technique, sensitivity of breath analysis was nearly doubled.
