A Modified Watershed Segmentation Method to Segment Renal Calculi in Ultrasound Kidney Images

Segmentation of stones from abdominal ultrasound images is a unique challenge to the researchers because these images have heavy speckle noise and attenuated artifacts. In the previous renal calculi segmentation method, the stones were segmented from the medical ultra sound kidney stone images using Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS). But, the method lacks in sensitivity and specificity measures. The segmentation method is inadequate in its performance in terms of these two parameters. So, to avoid these drawbacks, a new segmentation method is proposed in this paper. Here, new region indicators and new modified watershed transformation is utilized. The proposed method is comprised of four major processes, namely, preprocessing, determination of outer and inner region indictors, modified watershed segmentation with ANFIS performance. The method is implemented and the results are analyzed in terms of various statistical performance measures. The results show the effectiveness of proposed segmentation method in segmenting the kidney stones and the achieved improvement in sensitivity and specificity measures. Furthermore, the performance of the proposed technique is evaluated by comparing with the other segmentation methods.

This paper develops a hybrid algorithm of adaptive network-based fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) and regions with convolutional neural network (R-CNN) for stereo vision-based object recognition and manipulation. The stereo camera at an eye-to-hand configuration firstly captures the image of the target object. Then, the shape, features, and centroid of the object are estimated. Similar pixels are segmented by the image segmentation method, and similar regions are merged through selective search. The eye-to-hand calibration is based on ANFIS to reduce computing burden. A six-degree-of-freedom (6-DOF) robot arm with a gripper will conduct experiments to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed system.

One of the safest techniques for disease diagnosis which can be used in any part of the body is ultrasound imaging. The cost when compared with MRI, PET etc are higher than using ultra sound images is the one of the major reason. Further, it is an efficient technique for initial diagnosis and it is free from any radiation exposure. This paper concentrates on segmentation of kidney from abdominal ultrasound images. There are many common ailments affecting kidney. Hence conducting study on this segmented image becomes easy with an efficient segmentation technique. In this paper Various algorithms to pull out kidney regions from abdominal ultrasound images which are discussed by many researchers are also investigated. Due to the complicated internal organs of the abdominal region, extraction of only the kidney region is very challenging and is the major drawback of ultrasound imaging. a new technique where the collected abdominal ultrasound image  is cleaned, to remove unwanted noise produced due to various interferences has been processed by this paper, the kidney region is segmented after applying the filtering technique. the subjected to Region indicator contour segmentation method to extract the renal calculi which is the region of interest in this study is this extracted kidney image. with a  reasonable number of dataset and applied the statistical performance test to check for the accuracy , the method is experimented .

Prakiraan atau peramalan beban listrik dibutuhkan dalam menentukan jumlah listrik yang dihasilkan. Ini menentukan  agar tidak terjadi beban berlebih yang menyebabkan pemborosan atau kekurangan beban listrik yang mengakibatkan krisis listrik di konsumen. Oleh karena itu di butuhkan prakiraan atau peramalan yang tepat untuk menghasilkan energi listrik. Teknologi softcomputing dapat digunakan  sebagai metode alternatif untuk prediksi beban litrik jangka pendek salah satunya dengan metode  Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System pada penelitian tugas akhir ini. Data yang di dapat untuk mendukung penelitian ini adalah data dari APD PLN JAWA BARAT yang berisikan laporan data beban puncak bulanan penyulang area gardu induk majalaya dari januari 2011 sampai desember 2014 sebagai data acuan dan data aktual januari-desember 2015. Data kemudian dilatih menggunakan metode ANFIS pada software MATLAB versi b2010. Dari data hasil pelatihan data ANFIS kemudian dilakukan perbandingan dengan data aktual dan data metode regresi meliputi perbandingan anfis-aktual, regresi-aktual dan perbandingan anfis-regresi-aktual. Dari perbandingan disimpulkan bahwa data metode anfis lebih mendekati data aktual dengan rata-rata 1,4%, menunjukan prediksi ANFIS dapat menjadi referensi untuk peramalan beban listrik dimasa depan.
