Summary generation is an important process in those conditions where the user needs to obtain the key features of the document without having to go through the whole document itself. The summarization process is of basically two types: 1) Single document Summarization and, 2) Multiple Document Summarization. But here the microblogging environment is taken into account which have a restriction on the number of characters contained within a post. Therefore, single document summarizers are not applicable to this condition. There are many features along which the summarization of the microblog post can be done for example, post's topic, it's posting time, happening of the event, etc. This paper proposes a method that includes the temporal features of the microblog posts to develop an extractive summary of the event from each and every post, which will further increase the quality of the summary created as it includes all the key features in the summary.

Previous studies show that patient complaints can identify gaps in quality of care, but it is difficult to identify trends without categorization. We conducted a review of complaints relating to admissions on hospital internal medicine (HIM) services over a 26-month period. Data were collected on person characteristics and key features of the complaint. The complaints were also categorized into a previously published taxonomy. Seventy-six unsolicited complaints were identified, (3.5 per 1000 hospital admissions). Complaints were more likely on resident services. The mean duration between encounter and complaint was 18 days, and it took an average of 12 days to resolve the complaint. Most patients (59%) had a complaint in the Relationship domain. Thirty-nine percent of complaints mentioned a specific clinician. When a clinician was mentioned, complaints regarding communication and humaneness predominated (68%). The results indicate that the efforts to reduce patient complaints in HIM should focus on the Relationships domain.

Purpose This paper aims to investigate the service demand of existing users and potential users for mobile information services provided by university libraries in China. The primary objective is to explore the impact of user experience on user needs, which is conducted by a comparison between two user groups over their needs from three aspects – service function, service mode and information content. Design/methodology/approach Data were collected from 353 library users from ten Chinese universities via questionnaires. Based on the user needs model, three dimensions of user needs were established for mobile information services and 26 measurement items were generated through a review of the literature. Furthermore, based on frequency analysis, independent samples t-test and the calculation of need rate, the demand differences in mobile information services between existing and potential users were explored. Findings Significant differences existed in the needs for service functions and service modes of mobile information services between existing users and potential users. Existing users cared more about such characteristics as intelligence, personalization and the variety of mobile services. Potential users, in contrast, concerned themselves more with the usability of mobile services and similarity to traditional information services. These two user groups showed little difference in the needs for information content, as they both have strict requirements for specialty, richness in and quality of information resources in mobile network environments. Originality/value Previous research on user needs for mobile libraries services has been primarily conducted from the perspectives of existing users. This study, however, compared the needs of existing and potential users based on their previous experiences, which can help libraries to know better what their users need and improve the quality of mobile information services to meet those needs. This can also make existing users more willing to use the services and cultivate the usage habits of potential users at the same time.

Hasil pengujian kemudian dibandingkan dengan pengukuran manual dan didapatkan error rata-rata pengukuran sekitar 4%.Kata kunci: Laser sensor, kerataan, kalibrasi, die attach machine ABSTRACTOne of the element technology supporting an industrial manufacturing is Die Attach machine. This machine is used at component assembly using component pick and place. As an important process, this machine requires regular and precise calibration to support quality of the product. This research aims to build a prototype system using laser sensor which can be used as calibration instrument. The callibration proses was done by measuring the flatness of each side of work holder using laser sensor. The flatness was obtained by comparing the distance of each testing point. The same distance on each testing point represented the flatness of the wrok holder. The movement of laser sensor was controlled by two motors which moved to X and Y axis. The system has been tested to calibrate each side of work holder. The experimental results were then compare with manual measurement and showed the measurement error about 4%.Keywords: Laser sensor, flatness, callibration, die attach machine.

Aims: to review the key features of an effective lecture and to rate a series of medical school lectures to inform a broader initiative in staff development in effective lecturingBackground: Lectures are the primary method of delivering information to an audience in tertiary education and remain a key part of medical school educationMethod: Literature review confirmed fourteen elements thought to contribute to the quality of a lecture. A lecture series was then rated using these criteria Results: The three highest rated criteria were explaining and summarising key concepts, presenting material at an appropriate level to the audience, and the use of clear audio-visual aids and voice. The three lowest rated aspects of our lecture program were stating goals of the talk, monitoring audience understanding and responding appropriately, and providing a conclusion to the talk. Conclusions: These findings will provide direction to staff development to further improve the quality of lectures provided to students.

Re-Coding Homes searches for flexibility in the standard layout of contemporary housing units very common in the big cities of Turkey. The project differentiates from other studies with its unique design model characterized by an expert system that generates complete home environments according to parameters defined by user needs. In this sense, certain methodological and contextual aspects were employed throughout the study. Among these, flexibility, modularity, adaptability, and user participation were discussed as methodological aspects that identify the design model. Urban regeneration and mass housing are investigated as contextual aspects that affect the overall quality of present living environments in the specific context of Istanbul.

Process innovations mainly benefit consumers by reducing prices of services and of new and old goods, which benefits aspiring ordinary citizens more than the privileged rich. The interchangeable parts of the American system of manufacturing (famously demonstrated at Britain’s Crystal Palace in Victorian England) reduced the costs of many goods, bringing them within the reach of the working class. Process innovations are often financed by rich venturesome consumers who buy expensive early versions of new goods. Besides lowering costs, process innovations also increase the variety, convenience, and quality of goods. Important process innovations include Fritz Haber’s inventing a way to create fertilizer from air; Henry Ford’s adaptation of the assembly line to reduce the costs of manufacturing cars; Sam Walton’s logistical, information technology and managerial innovations to reduce the costs of retailing; and Jeff Bezos’s Internet process innovations to increase the variety, convenience, and speed of delivery of retail goods.

The present chapter focuses on the idea of rethinking the concept of usability moving from the traditional view of usability expressed in the internal characteristics of the product towards usability understood as deriving from the quality of interactions between humans, their work and the web design product. Usability is not only an add-on or a final result in the design process but it is embedded as a main concern within the design process itself. Related to this perspective on usability, the authors discussed the design models which can support it and argued on the importance of using social research tools for a better understanding of the people and their needs starting with the very first stage of design. Further on the authors have provided a brief description of the most frequently used research methods in user needs analysis (interviews, focus groups and surveys) together with short guidelines in preparing and using these methods. The last part is dedicated to the illustration of user needs analysis taken from two of their research projects.
