The first objective of this research is to establish and study how the different stages of cognitive impairment and the levels of dependence evolve in patients over 65 years of age, admitted to an acute care hospital, as well as the relationship between these factors and the different social and demographical variables. The results show that the level of dependence decreases suddenly at the time of admission and undergoes a slight recovery at the time of discharge. Although this recovery continues at home after discharge, patients do not get the same level of independence that they used to have before admission. In addition, significant differences in terms of age, marital status and education level were found. In general, our results show that elderly men over 80 years of age, without no education and widowers are more likely to suffer from severe cognitive impairment and be more functionally dependent when admitted to hospital.

The study tested the relationship of reported intimacy and dominance gestures by women in a corporate setting. The effect of age and marital status was also examined. The reported frequencies of the two types of gestures were uncorrelated ( r = .28). However, dominance was reported more frequently ( M = 9.85, SD = 1.8) than sexual intimacy ( M = 5.76, SD = 3.1). The 34 younger women reported more dominance and less sexual intimacy than the 48 older women. Single persons reported being targets of more dominance gestures than the married, but the younger women reported less sexual intimacy. Possible explanations for the findings are discussed.

In the present era, frequently changing life style gives cutthroat competition and desire to be success in this competition makes unhealthy environment for present generation. People are stuck on materialistic thing which gives short-term satisfaction only. It is not permanent although people blindly follows this life style making themselves sick. But some people are aware that material life is temporary therefore they move their attitude towards the path of spirituality that illuminate his or her life and ultimately leads to life satisfaction. Therefore researchers is curious to explore the relationship among spirituality, attachment and life satisfaction. Present paper is an attempt to examine the contribution of spirituality and attachment in life satisfaction among middle age people. The sample comprises 100 subjects (50 males & 50 females), working in bank, and teaching profession. The sample has taken from Mathura city only. Sample is equal in terms of education, individual income, age, and marital status. In order to find out the contribution of spirituality and attachment on life satisfaction, correlation design is used. The result reveals that spirituality is positive contributor for life satisfaction.

Abstract Background: Persons who use drug need family and society’s support in the process of treatment and rehabilitation. Therefore, it is imperative to determine the psychological, social, and motivational factors that can help them in the treatment process. The present study was an attempt to determine the relationship between psychological, social, and motivational factors and the demographics of persons who use drugs (PWUD). Methods: An analytical cross-sectional study was carried out. Psychological, social, and motivational performance questionnaire for the PWUD was first translated into Farsi and validated after securing permission from the copyright holder of the tool. Participants were 250 PWUDs under methadone therapy who were selected through convenient sampling. Before analyzing the collected data, validity and reliability of the tool were confirmed using confirmatory and exploratory factor analyses. Given the scale of demographical data, descriptive and analytic statistics were used to analyze the relationship between demographical variables and psychological, social, and motivational factors. Results: The results of exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses showed that out of 83 statements in the original questionnaire, 55 statements categorized into 11 aspects were usable for Iranian population. The results showed that gender, income, and marital status affect psychological functioning of the PWUD (P<0.05). However, education level, domicile, and type of drug and consumption did not have a significant relationship with social functioning of the participants (p>0.05). There was a significant relationship between age, number of children, and history of using drug and psychological functioning of the participants (P<0.01). The results showed that the demographics did not have a notable effect on the participants’ motivation for treatment; only marital status had a significant relationship with the participants’ treatment readiness (P<0.05). Conclusion: As the results showed, the demographical variables could affect physical, psychological, and social functioning in the participants.

*This paper uses materials from the World Values Survey and the EuropeanValues Study from 2006-2014 to study the relationship of gender and maritalstatus to life satisfaction. In an analysis of 103,217 respondents from 81nations I find that while there do not seem to be main effects of gender onlife satisfaction – that is, women are no more or less satisfied with theirlives than are men -- gender moderates the effects of geographical region,age, employment status, education, religious affiliation, and attendance ofreligious services on life satisfaction. In particular, there aresubstantial differences in the effects of marital status on lifesatisfaction by gender. The gender differences in most effects are sosubstantial that I argue that it makes no sense to analyze lifesatisfaction data without performing separate analyses by gender. *

The aim: Of our study was to identify the relationship between the main risk factors for heart disease and social factors among northern population. Materials and methods: We polled 3092 native and non-native habitants of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia). The poll consists of several sections. It includes questions related to social, demographic and life record data, heredity, physical activity and unhealthy habits. Results: Among the people diagnosed with hypertension (HT), there are more smokers than among the people without this medical condition. On the contrary, in the group of people diagnosed with HT at the examination for taking blood pressure, there were fewer smokers than in the group, in which HT was not registered. Patients with CHD, Myocardial infarction (MI) in past medical history, cerebrovascular accident (CVA) and type 2 diabetes (T2D), are smokers to the same degree as the other group. This indicates that this category of the examined are exposed to the risk of cardiovascular aggravations. We determined a high spread of psychosocial risk factors for the examined respondents – the relationship between smoking, overweight, obesity, abdominal obesity and HT, and the level of education, marital status and labor specificity. The increase in the level of education is associated with fewer amounts of smokers among both non-native and native habitants. Overweight is more frequently observed for the people who are not single, have low level of education and are engaged in manual labor. In particular, it is applicable to native habitants. Conclusions: Abdominal obesity did not have any relationship with psychosocial factors for native habitants. However, in relation to non-native habitants, overweight, obesity, abdominal obesity and HT are associated with marital status (married) and with manual labor.

The trend of working women in Indonesia has increased. In 2017 the participation rate of women workers increased by 39.3%. This study aims to analyze the tendency of women to work in villages and cities, analyze the relationship of women who work with reproductive health, the relationship between marital status and reproductive health and Islamic perspectives on working women. The method used was quantitative, sourced from secondary data on Indonesia's Demographic and Health Data Survey 2017 Data were analyzed using the chi-square test. It was found that the tendency of women to work in villages was higher by 65.5%. The analysis found that the significant correlation between job status and marital status with reproductive health, with p-value of 0.0001 and 0.0001. It is not forbidden in Islam that women work outside the home, but must uphold a woman’s character, her role in her family and dignity. Considering women have a dual role, in the household and as workers, the company should give the right to maintain reproductive health such as menstruation leave, pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding.
