The stochastic nature of aluminum foam structure, having a random distribution of voids, makes it difficult to model its compressive deformation behavior accurately. In this paper, a 2-dimensional simplified modeling approach is introduced to analyze the compressive deformation behavior that occurs in Alporas aluminum foam (Al foam). This has been achieved using image analysis on real undeformed aluminum foam images obtained by VHX-100 digital microscope. Finite element mesh for the cross sectional model is generated with Object Oriented Finite element (OOF) method combined with ABAQUS structural analysis. It is expected that OOF modeling enable prediction of the origin of failure in terms of localized deformation with respect to the microstructural details. Furthermore, strain concentration sites leading to the evolution of the deformation band can be visualized. Thus, this investigation addresses the local inhomogeneity in the Al foam structure. This study implies that the OOF modeling approach combined with experimental observations can provide better insight into the understanding of aluminum foam compressive deformation behavior.

In this paper a novel RF receiver modeling approach is presented. The novelty consists in the usage of the object oriented programming instead of the usual imperative programming. Classes were defined for entities as signal, non-ideality and RF/analog block, in order to achieve a basic RF receiver model. The main circuit non-idealities were identified, non-ideality parameters and their analytical models were encapsulated into classes. The effectiveness of the proposed modeling approach was demonstrated by developing in MATLAB a fairly complete model of a direct conversion receiver.

A Generic Object-Oriented Enterprise Modeling Process (GOOEMP) is a set of partially ordered steps intended to reach the objective of building a fully integrated, dynamic, object-oriented model of the enterprise. An abstraction mechanism is proposed to enable this process. The process is generic because it applies to most types of enterprises. Enterprise models are the products developed from the process and these can be used by various stakeholders in an organization to: a) give them an understanding of the enterprise; b) design integrated information systems; c) respond to business changes by evolving their enterprise models and information systems in a coordinated and coherent manner; and d) enable the enterprise models built within a particular industry to be reused and applied to many other industries.
