Due to its penetration and access, radio is a very important mass media in the Ibero-American context. However, radio has not received much scholarly attention. In this framework, the present study analyses the situation of Ibero-American radio studies from the perspective of their scientific community. This approach is new in that it focuses on the work, perceptions, and assessment of radio research at supranational level, shedding light on similarities and differences in terms of how Communication is seen as a scholarly field. A questionnaire was used to understand the importance, themes, and quality of radio research from the personal, national and global perspectives, according to its 63 respondents. Participants were also asked to share their perceptions, assessments, and prospects. Despite contextual differences, our study has confirmed that radio studies are a minority field, even in areas of high impact such as new technologies. Likewise, the research career paths of those involved in radio research show how this field is still in its infancy, although some indicators such as participation in projects or cooperation rates point towards a positive evolution in the mid-short term. As per their quality perception, academics are critical of radio studies in the general framework of Communication research. La radio constituye un medio de gran relevancia en el contexto iberoamericano dado su acceso y penetración. No obstante, el estudio de la comunicación radiofónica no ha tenido la presumida proyección en el ámbito académico. En este sentido, el presente trabajo efectúa una aproximación a la situación de los «radio studies iberoamericanos» desde la perspectiva de su comunidad científica. Un abordaje novedoso en tanto que se centra en las trayectorias, percepciones y valoraciones en torno a la investigación radiofónica en una esfera supranacional, con características comunes pero importantes divergencias en el abordaje de la Comunicación como ámbito de estudio. A partir de una encuesta a 63 especialistas en radio se profundizó en la entidad, temáticas y calidad de la investigación radiofónica en las esferas personal, nacional y global; así como en sus percepciones, valoraciones y prospectivas. Más allá de las diferencias entre contextos el estudio ha permitido constatar el carácter minoritario de la investigación radiofónica incluso en aquellas temáticas de mayor proyección como las nuevas tecnologías. Asimismo, las trayectorias de la comunidad científica remiten a una fase incipiente de desarrollo de la investigación radiofónica si bien determinados indicadores, como participación en proyectos o índice de cooperación, permiten visar una evolución positiva a corto-medio plazo. En cuanto a la percepción de la calidad los académicos se muestran especialmente críticos con los «radio studies» respecto a la investigación comunicativa.

Abstract:This paper presents some results obtained from a wider research on critical issues related to “adolescents and new technologies”. Given the complexity of factors that surrounds the lives of our adolescents in modern society and the complexity of society itself, we considered it interesting to investigate ICTs and its influence on our adolescents. ICTs are supposed to contribute in an important way to improve our quality of living, both in the personal environment and in the professional environment, although in some cases we are seeing that this is not the case. For this reason, and in the context of Secondary Education, it is important part to know how pupils use ICTs and how ICTs are employed in education. Specifically, the data analyzed are related to the usage of social networks by students of ESO and 1º Bachelor in Cantabria.Resumen:En este trabajo se presentan algunos de los resultados obtenidos en una investigación más amplia sobre aspectos cruciales relativos a “los adolescentes y las nuevas tecnologías”. Dada la complejidad de factores que rodea la vida de nuestros jóvenes en la sociedad actual, igualmente compleja, que nos ha tocado vivir; nos pareció relevante investigar el tema de las TIC y su influencia en la vida de nuestros adolescentes. Se supone que las nuevas tecnologías contribuyen de manera importante a mejorar nuestra calidad de vida, tanto en lo personal como en lo profesional, aunque en algunos casos estamos viendo que no siempre es así. Por ello, cuando nos referimos a los alumnos de la Educación Secundaria entendemos que lo importante, es saber cómo las utilizan y cómo las TIC intervienen en la formación de la persona. En concreto, los datos que aquí se analizan, se refieren a algunos aspectos relacionados con el uso de las Redes Sociales de los alumnos de la ESO y 1º de Bachillerato de la Comunidad Autónoma de Cantabria.Palabras clave: Internet, Redes Sociales, TIC, Adolescencia

ResumenEn la actualidad, la comunidad educativa se ve obligada cada vez más a emplear herramientas informáticas que permitan mejorar la calidad de sus clases, entrando en la vanguardia de las nuevas tecnologías de forma que se presenten clases más llamativas y flexibles, recurriendo a una inmediata aplicación práctica y transmitiendo de forma eficiente las competencias digitales que establece el currículo de cada etapa. En este trabajo, se muestran algunas de las herramientas englobadas dentro de la comunidad del software libre, que no presentan coste alguno y que han sido empleadas con éxito en el Ciclo Formativo de Grado Superior de Eficiencia Energética y Energía Solar Térmica. Además, tras realizar una encuesta se puede apreciar el alto grado de satisfacción del alumnado para con estas herramientas informáticas, lo cual hace pensar en su posible aplicación a nivel universitario y profesional.AbstractNowadays, the educational community is increasingly made to use computer applications which allows for improve the quality of their classes, coming into the vanguard of the new technologies to present more attractive and flexible classes, turning to an immediate practical application and efficiently transmitting the digital competencies established by the curriculum of each stage. In this work, it shown some of the computer applications included within the free software community, that do not present any cost and has been successfully used in the Higher Degree Training Cycle of Energy Efficiency and Thermal Solar Energy. In addition, after carried out a survey can be appreciated the high level of satisfaction of the students who use these programs, which suggests their possible application at university and professional field.

Durante el primer semestre de 2008 se realizó una investigación considerando alumnos de recién ingreso a la Facultad de Ciencias Administrativas y Sociales (FCAyS) de la Universidad Autónoma de Baja California (UABC). El propósito fue establecer una clasificación (técnica conglomerado k-medias) a partir de los niveles de uso tecnológico y de la Web y, a su vez, caracterizar a los conglomerados resultantes según variables de desempeño académico, socioeconómicas y de capacitación previa. Se consideró una muestra intencional de 438 estudiantes a quienes se les aplicó una encuesta de uso tecnológico desarrollada en el marco de la investigación. Los resultados muestran que un buen nivel de uso tecnológico y de la Web se asocia con la disposición de equipo de cómputo, servicios de Internet y capacitación previa. No se encontró relación significativa con el desempeño académico de los participantes. Se sugiere propiciar un mayor uso pedagógico de las nuevas tecnologías para contribuir a mejorar la calidad de la educación.AbstractDuring the first semester of 2008 a research was realized considering the new pupils of the Faculty of Social and Administrative Sciences (FCAyS) from the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC). The purpose was to establish a classification (k-means clusters technique) from technological use levels and the Web and, in turn, characterize the resulting conglomerates according to socio-economic variables, academic performance, and pre-service training. A survey of technology use, developed in the frame of the research, were applied to a sample of 438 studentes. The results show that a good level of technology use and of the Web is associated with the disposal of computing equipment, Internet and previoustraining. No significant relationship to academic performance of the participants was found. Actualmente el sector de población de los adultos mayores cobra especial importancia, por lo que tenemos que trabajar para aumentar el conocimiento sobre el mantenimiento y mejora de su calidad de vida. Entre los factores que la determinan incidiremos en evitar la dependencia, que el adulto mayor se pueda valer por si mismo, siendo una de las causas fundamentales de esta falta de movilidad las caídas. Para ello proponemos un sistema de entrenamiento del equilibrio que une ejercicios de suelo con la práctica de videoconsola como forma de potenciar los efectos positivos de dicho entrenamiento. Además del acercamiento a las nuevas tecnologías de un sector de población tradicionalmente apartado de las mismas, este estudio demuestra la utilidad de las mismas para mejorar en equilibrio. Los resultados muestran que la utilización de la videoconsola mejora los resultados obtenidos en un entrenamiento de equilibrio basado en ejercicios con espalderas, sobre colchonetas y sobre plataformas inestables de goma llenas de aire.Palabra clave: equilibrio, videoconsola, adultos mayores, entrenamiento, calidad de vida.Abstract: Nowadays the population sector of senior citizens has become very important. For that reason we need to work to increase our knowledge of how to keep and improve the quality of their lives. Among the factors that influence this quality we need to avoid dependency so that these citizens can look after themselves, being falls one of the main causes of their lack of mobility. For that reason we propose a balance training programme that combines floor exercises and videogames practise as a way to foster the positive effects of that training. Apart from bringing new technologies closer to a group of people who have little to do with it, this study shows the usefulness of these new technologies to improve balance. The outcome shows that the use of a videogame console improves the results obtained in a balance training programme based on exercises on wall bars, mats and unstable rubber platforms full of air.Key words: balance, videogame console, senior citizens, training, quality of life.

Access to high quality evaluation results is essential for science communicators to identify negative patterns of audience response and improve outcomes. However, there are many good reasons why robust evaluation linked is not routinely conducted and linked to science communication practice. This essay begins by identifying some of the common challenges that explain this gap between evaluation evidence and practice. Automating evaluation processes through new technologies is then explicated as one solution to these challenges, capable of yielding accurate real-time results that can directly feed into practice. Automating evaluation through smartphone and web apps tied to open source analysis tools can deliver on-going evaluation insights without the expense of regularly employing external consultants or hiring evaluation experts in-house. While such automation does not address all evaluation needs, it can save resources and equip science communicators with the information they need to continually enhance practice for the benefit of their audiences.

Sustainable development of e-government should be based on facilitating the meeting of society’s needs, mostly through enhancing access to information and providing public services which can be realized through the Internet, which is especially important in the time of dynamic increase in the number of its users. Creating useful and functional websites of offices, which will fully allow the enjoyment of benefits coming form new technologies, is an indispensable condition of this realization. Due to the above, research has been conducted the subject matter of which was the assessment of the content of the websites of commune offices of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in the context of adjusting them to the needs of local communities. The websites of the offices were analyzed in terms of their usability, functionality and the level of advancement of selected self-government e-services, where the criterion was, i.a. the substantial content, accuracy, technical and ergonomic quality. The results of the conducted research show that creating websites allowing smooth implementation of electronic services, employing standardized procedures related to the process of providing services makes the office more transparent and thus more citizen-friendly. This will also allow the improvement of the quality of their life as result-wise improvement of administrative serving the society thanks to offering an additional way of carrying out public services. These actions need to be recognized as an indispensable condition for enhancing the efficiency of e-government contributing to its sustainable development.

Los engranajes del milenio en curso han venido activados por la atropellada entrada en la sociedad de la información que ha generado toda una serie de cambios sociales y educativos, ante los que resulta difícil mantenerse fuera de su influjo, como serían: la vertiginosa presencia de las nuevas tecnologías (NNTT) y el afianzamiento de una crisis de valores.La educación física se ha visto afectada por este alud de novedades que han suscitado el nacimiento de originales herramientas de enseñanza-aprendizaje susceptibles de ser aplicadas en el aula. En este sentido, las webquests se han configurado como unas actividades didácticas y unificadoras que permiten abordar el tratamiento de temáticas propias del área que nos ocupa conjuntamente con el trabajo de determinados ejes transversales.Pero…¿cómo saber qué producto tenemos ante nosotros?, ¿cuál es su eficacia?, ¿qué criterios nos permitirán clasificarlo como elemento susceptible y apto de ser aplicado en nuestro particular contexto educativo?Con el fin de clarificar estas y otras cuestiones que cualquier docente puede llegar a plantearse ante la elección de un material educativo multimedia, nuestro particular objeto de estudio exhibe una doble pretensión por un lado, elaborar dos instrumentos: la ficha de catalogación y la rúbrica de valoración de webquests y por otro, aplicar dichos instrumentos con el fin de averiguar/determinar el grado de calidad de una muestra de webquests.En el presente artículo se enuncian, de forma sintética, los diferentes estadios por los cuáles ha transitado nuestra investigación desde el establecimiento de una sintetizada fundamentación teórica, pasando por la definición de las pautas básicas del diseño de investigación y la exposición de resultados y finalizando con la enumeración de las reflexiones y las proposiciones suscitadas a partir de la labor realizada.  AbstractGears of the current millennium have been activated by the hit entry into the information society that has generated a whole range of social and educational changes, it is difficult to stay out of their influence, such as: the dizzying presence of new technologies (NNTT) and the entrenchment of a crisis of values.Physical education has been affected by this avalanche of developments that have sparked the birth of original teaching and learning tools that can be applied in the classroom. In this sense, WebQuests have been configured as a unifying and educational activities that allow addressing the treatment of specific thematic area that we are dealing with the work of certain cross-cutting.But how do you know what product we have before us, what is its effectiveness? What criteria will allow us to classify it as a fit and capable of being applied in our particular educational context?To clarify these and other issues that any teacher could arise before the election of a multimedia educational materials, our particular object of study has a double claim on the one hand, developing two tools: the card catalog and the heading of Valuation of WebQuests and secondly, to apply these tools in order to find out / determine the degree of quality of a sample of WebQuests.In this article sets forth, in summary form, the various stages of what our research has gone since the establishment of a synthesized theoretical basis, via the definition of the basic guidelines for the design of the exhibition and research results and ending with The list of the ideas and proposals arising from the work.

Abstract.HABITS OF USE OF THE WHATSAPP BY THE ADOLESCENTSIn this paper, we present some of the results obtained in relation to the habits of use of WhatsApp by adolescents, as part of a more extensive investigation on crucial aspects related to “adolescents and their use of new technologies”. Given the complexity of factors that surround the lives of our young people in today’s society, which is equally complex and we have to live, we determined it to be relevant to investigate the issue of WhatsApp and its influence on the lives of our teenagers. It is assumed that new technologies contribute significantly to improving our quality of life, both personally and professionally, although we observe that this is not always the case. Therefore, when referring to secondary school students, we understand that it is important to know how they use ICTs, and how they are involved in the formation of the person. The integration of Ukrainian system of Higher education into the European one accompanies by a transformation processes. The main goal of Higher school in our country is to prepare competitive specialists. The pedagogues of medical universities implement modern educational technologies with the use of analytically-searching work and scientific information. The implementation of new technologies of teaching is the important task of modernization of pedagogical system of mastering highly skilled specialists. The aim — to ground the implementation of test control for the estimation of quality of knowledge of future doctors. Gaining knowledge in microbiology is very necessary for future doctors to understand the principals of diagnostics and struggling infectious diseases. Knowledge in microbiology is basis for better understanding of clinical disciplines, as it assists logical perception of clinical data, influences on the forming clinical thought without which it is impossible to become a highly skilled specialist. The implementation of modern methods of studies, control, providing the increase of creative activity of students, forming and developing in them professional thought is one of the effective way of the improvement of quality of pedagogical training of highly skilled doctors. The experience of applying of the test control of knowledge in students in the medical university at classes of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology has been presented in the manuscript. The use of different types of test control has been proved to be one of the effective methods for determining the level of knowledge among students. Test control promotes the activation of cognitive activity, forms students’ skills of independent work, develops their logical thinking. Test control of obtained knowledge should be used in conjunction with other methods of studying the subject. The analysis of the results of the writing of the KROK-1 qualification exam by the students of the stomatological department has been conducted. The use of different methods of estimation of control of knowledge is necessary for its improvement. The study of microbiology is the important base of forming fundamental knowledge in students. Therefore, test control in a complex with other pedagogical methods can be used as one of the important and optimal methods to improve estimation of the basic level of students’ knowledge.
