Abstract:This paper presents some results obtained from a wider research on critical issues related to “adolescents and new technologies”. Given the complexity of factors that surrounds the lives of our adolescents in modern society and the complexity of society itself, we considered it interesting to investigate ICTs and its influence on our adolescents. ICTs are supposed to contribute in an important way to improve our quality of living, both in the personal environment and in the professional environment, although in some cases we are seeing that this is not the case. For this reason, and in the context of Secondary Education, it is important part to know how pupils use ICTs and how ICTs are employed in education. Specifically, the data analyzed are related to the usage of social networks by students of ESO and 1º Bachelor in Cantabria.

AbstractThe ISO 9001:2015 certificate of quality is nowadays the most renowned quality standard in the world. Standardised quality has become an imperative competitive advantage on the market for all serious business organisations. The fluctuation of the number of certificates of quality indicates to what extent companies are willing to ensure the quality of their products and services to customers and clients, and how fast the domestic market is standardised and integrated into the global economy. This paper presents the results of two empirical studies. The first one focused on the analysis of the fluctuation in the number of ISO 9001:2015 certificates in the period from 2008 to 2018, while the second aimed to determine the satisfaction of leadership with the certificate. The study has shown that, during the observed period, the number of certificates of quality in Croatia fluctuated between – 18% and +22% annually. At the annual level, a certain number of companies lose their certificates or opt for decertification. For that reason, a study of the leadership’s level of satisfaction with the ISO 9001:2015 certificate was conducted using a sample of 296 certified business organisations. The study has proven that the leadership showed a high level of satisfaction with the certificate of quality and that they appreciate business organisations with certificates of quality. It demonstrates that the quality management certification has a bright future regardless of the annual fluctuation of the number of certificates.

The Master Gardener Program sponsored by the Univ. of Missouri provides the metropolitan Kansas City area with information, demonstrations and programs designed to educate the general public about gardening topics and suggests solutions to current or anticipated problems. The main objectives of this evaluation were to identify the satisfaction level of clients (public) and the Master Gardeners from the program, demographics of Master Gardeners, how the program has changed the quality of life of the Master Gardeners and to identify any constraints. An evaluation committee consisting a social scientist, horticulturist and Master Gardeners were formed to develop the process and tools necessary for a comprehensive evaluation. It was decided that each facet of the program should have its own separate evaluation. The committee met several times to develop evaluation tools (survey questionnaires), to gather information from clients and the Master Gardeners. The results indicate a high level of satisfaction from clients and the Master Gardeners. The program had made positive changes in lives of Master Gardeners. The results provide guidance in decision making for further implementation such as it was found that the program should give a strong emphasis on providing new or advance horticultural information to Master Gardeners through continuing education.

AbstractDuring the first semester of 2008 a research was realized considering the new pupils of the Faculty of Social and Administrative Sciences (FCAyS) from the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC). Abstract Background During cancer therapy, many patients suffer from malnutrition or vitamin deficiency. Treatment for nutrition-related deficiencies should therefore include nutritional therapy and possibly oral or intravenous substitution of micronutrients. Little information exists on multinutrient infusion therapies. The aim of this study was to develop standardized infusion protocols for integrative medicine infusions with micronutrients (IMed infusions) and to report on side effects of the treatment and patientsʼ satisfaction with it. Methods For the IMed consultancy service, four special formulas for intravenous use were developed in cooperation with the pharmacy at Erlangen University Hospital. A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted between October 2015 and January 2018 in which 45 patients with gynecological or breast cancer (BC) and IMed infusion therapy were included. Follow-up data were obtained from 20 patients using a standardized questionnaire on IMed infusions. Results A total of 280 IMed infusions were administered in the study period. The majority of the patients received an IMed regeneration infusion (78%). The majority of the patients had BC and were receiving chemotherapy. Most patients reported a high or very high level of satisfaction with the organization (60%), general treatment (65%) and counseling (85%). Subjective improvement in their disease-related and therapy-induced symptoms, such as fatigue, polyneuropathy and physical efficiency, was reported by 70% of the patients, while 75% reported a subjective increase in quality of life. Side effects were rare and minor. Conclusions Therapy with IMed infusions in women with BC or gynecological cancer requires the same standards set for drug therapy. Although vitamins represent dietary supplements, appropriate assessment of the patientʼs medical history is needed and patients must receive appropriate information. For this purpose, standardized processes, as in the context of an IMed consultancy service, are helpful.
