This communication stresses the importance of the complete lockdown of a developing nation as a powerful tool against COVID-19 acting as a ‘vaccine’. India has been under complete lockdown since 24th March 2020 in addition to other measures emphasized by the Indian Government such as promoting hand washing, social distancing, and use of face masks. A strict lockdown is suggested as an effective measure for containing the novel Corona virus infection transmission worldwide.

The most victorious intervention in field of Public Health is immunization. It prevents 2-3 million deaths every year from diseases like diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, influenza, measles and currently to overcome the novel corona virus infection an effective vaccine is the most anticipated resolution. Despite the advancements and innovations in clinical research and healthcare, vaccine hesitancy is a threat globally. Social media has provided unmatched capacity for people to communicate but has also been a major tool for rapid spread of misconceptions and disingenuous information damaging to public health. This article aims to give an overview of vaccine hesitancy of various infectious diseases, people’s perception towards it, how social media has facilitated this movement and how to eliminate the misconception.

Corona virus disease or its pandemic (COVID-19), because of novel corona virus-2 (SARS-nCoV-2), has become a big challenge worldwide to discover an effective therapeutic regime for its prevention and treatment. Researchers and scientists are continuously exploring new ideas and strategies to come up with an effective treatment that can confront against the novel corona virus, but no significant results have been documented in any of the reported study up till. Neither an effective vaccine nor any antiviral therapeutic agent has been approved to treat Covid-19. In the present scenario, immunotherapy by transferring of antibody enriched convalescent sera to the infected patient seems to be one of the promising treatment approaches. This paper focuses on exploring the suitability of using CP transfusion therapy on Covid-19 patients, highlighting the risks and challenges associated with its treatment for gaining maximum clinical benefits and better treatment outcome. The findings derived from the serological assays provide a valuable information that would help to support diagnosis, treatment and prevention of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

The novel corona outbreak that started in Wuhan China in Autumn 2019, has infected and killed hundreds of thousands of people all over the world. People around the world are scared because a vaccine has not yet been developed to cure this disease. Scientists and health experts around the world are working hard to develop medical countermeasures to control the spread of the COVID 19 outbreak. COVID-19 pandemic created an unprecedented world crisis to our health and changed the way we perceived our world and our everyday lives. To be able to contain the pattern of transmission of this deadly virus, health experts suggests to each one of us to observe the required safety measures such as social distancing and washing our hands with soap and water in a regular basis and observe a proper hygiene. The role of different mass media channels skyrocketing in our lives on different levels. During this time of the pandemic, mass media have been highly recognized as strongest forces in promoting solidarity to people around the world. It has been followed by an increasing volume of research closed to the footsteps of technological transformations intended to map mass media strongest impacts on how we perceived ourselves during this time of the pandemic. Why lockdown and social distancing amid corona virus? When will this outbreak end? What does flattening the curve mean in relation to Corona Virus? This paper discusses the significance of social distancing, lockdown and flattening the curve as countermeasures in order to win the fight against COVID 19. Meanwhile, other interventions and prevention measures such as, lockdown, community quarantine and social distancing are all the necessary interventions and prevention measures that governments all over the world are urging their citizens to do in order to delay and prevent the spread as well as to flatten the curve against COVID-19.

Covid-19 or the corona virus is a virus that has become a disaster and a global humanitarian disaster began in December 2019 in Wuhan province in China, April 2020 the spread of the corona virus has spread throughout the world making the greatest humanitarian disaster in the history of human civilization after the war world II, Already tens of thousands of people have died, millions of people have been infected with the conona virus from poor countries, developing countries to developed countries overwhelmed by this virus outbreak. Increasingly, the spread follows a series of measurements while patients who recover recover from a series of counts so that this epidemic becomes a very frightening disaster plus there is no drug or vaccine for this corona virus yet found, so that all countries implement strategies to reduce this spread from social distancing, phycal distancing to with a city or country lockdown.

Aim: The aim of this survey study was to assess the level of awareness amongst Indian population regarding the COVID-19. Method: A survey was conducted amongst 745 individuals to assess their level of awareness regarding COVID-19 and steps to be taken for its prevention. Result: The results revealed that a considerable percentage of individuals learned about the pandemic through social media and news and were aware of the mode of spread of the virus and also steps to be taken to prevent it from spreading. But considerable percentage of people was also not fully aware regarding the age groups this virus will be affecting. Conclusion: Upon understanding the percentage of people not aware about the age groups this virus will be affecting, keeping in mind good amount of knowledge amongst individuals about maintaining hygiene and social distancing, this survey would help the health care workers to create awareness regarding the effect of this virus on different age groups to help prevent carelessness amongst youth in following the regime.

The current COVID-19 pandemic, caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has raised significant economic, social, and psychological concerns. The rapid spread of the virus, coupled with the absence of vaccines and antiviral treatments for SARS-CoV-2, has galvanized a major global endeavor to develop effective vaccines. Within a matter of just a few months of the initial outbreak, research teams worldwide, adopting a range of different strategies, embarked on a quest to develop effective vaccine that could be effectively used to suppress this virulent pathogen. In this review, we describe conventional approaches to vaccine development, including strategies employing proteins, peptides, and attenuated or inactivated pathogens in combination with adjuvants (including genetic adjuvants). We also present details of the novel strategies that were adopted by different research groups to successfully transfer recombinantly expressed antigens while using viral vectors (adenoviral and retroviral) and non-viral delivery systems, and how recently developed methods have been applied in order to produce vaccines that are based on mRNA, self-amplifying RNA (saRNA), and trans-amplifying RNA (taRNA). Moreover, we discuss the methods that are being used to enhance mRNA stability and protein production, the advantages and disadvantages of different methods, and the challenges that are encountered during the development of effective vaccines.
