The research on ultrafiltration membrane assisted by powdered zeolite for the treatment of secondary effluent from a municipal wastewater treatment plant was studied. The results show that membrane fouling rate is reduced by pre-coating the ultrafiltration membrane with powdered zeolite, and the treatment performance of secondary effluent is enhanced. UV-vis, three-dimensional excitation emission matrix (3D-EEM) fluorescence spectra and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images for ultrafiltration were also discussed.

LaOBr:Eu3+ nanofibers have been successfully fabricated by electrospinning combined with a double-crucible bromination technique using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) powers as bromine source. The products were characterized in detail by X-ray diffractometry (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersion spectroscopy (EDS) and fluorescence spectroscopy. The results indicate that LaOBr:Eu3+ luminescent nanofibers are tetragonal in structure with space group P4/nmm. The diameter of LaOBr:Eu3+ luminescent nanofibers is ca. 150 nm. Fluorescence spectra analysis shows that under the excitation of 302-nm ultraviolet light, the LaOBr:Eu3+ nanofibers exhibit red emission centering at 620 nm, which is attributed to the 5D0→7F2 energy levels transitions of Eu3+ ions.

According to the Lambert-Beer laws, the fluorescence spectra of oil in water were investigated by measuring excitation-emission matrixes with FS920 fluorescence spectrometer. On the basis of the three-dimensional fluorescence spectra of oil in water, the excitation wavelength of 290nm and emission wavelength of 324nm were chosen for the quantitative analysis of oil in water. The results show that the concentration of oil in water is linearly proportional to the fluorescence intensity in the range of 1ppm-100ppm, and the measurement model of concentration is obtained with the linear correlation coefficient of 0.9993. The artificial samples has also been tested and the results are satisfactory. The recovery is in the range of 92%-106%. The research provides experimental basis for the quantitative analysis of multi-component oil in water.
