It is difficult to isolate the business contribution of IT investments, and investments related to IT standardization are no exception, as discussed in the previous chapter. In Chapter 2 literature on standard setting processes and standards was described and in Chapter 3 literature was reviewed on the impact of IT on the process performance of a firm. In this chapter the choice for the research method, as part of the research approach depicted in Chapter 1, Figure 3, will be clarified and an initial conceptual model will be composed. The research method chosen comprises both exploratory and explanatory case study research as this was considered the best way to complement theory in this underdeveloped domain of IS literature (Yin, 1994). The conceptual model integrates aspects of standardization, standards application and standards control, and relates those to the impact of IT standards used in an organization on business process performance.

The research investigates and understands how poverty creates risk and affects the ability to actively engage with education using a case study from an alternative provider's perspective—the research considered case study methods where data was collected using the qualitative research approach. The collection of data used data triangulation (focus groups and interviews of the students and senior staff members) using open-ended questions at the undergraduate level. The data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel to assess the impact poverty has on educational attainment. Different ethical aspects and challenges were considered during the research process to ensure anonymity, confidentiality, power, and authority. Based on the case study research, the institution developed their five years strategic plan, which submitting to the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), and also Office for Students (OFS) for their approval. The institution also introduced the Employers' Forum, which will continue to be effectively utilizing to enhance the student experience and retention and progression rates. The research only considered one case study institution and thus was limited to the data set. The research could have produced a comparative study if more institutions were choosing with a more significant data set.

Abstract This paper outlines adult learning in the space of an important campaign against mining for coal seam gas (CSG). Recently, the government of Victoria became the first state to ban fracking for CSG in Australia. This significant legislative outcome could not have been achieved without the concerted campaigning of activists through the Lock the Gate Alliance (LTGA), in Central Gippsland. The campaign is mainly composed of circumstantial activists who have come together due to the serious threat from fracking to the quality of their land and water supply. This case study research examines adult learning in the field of a campaign. The findings from this research make clear activists learn to think critically about the environment and the impact of fracking for CSG. They learn communication skills, group work and networking skills. They develop a feel for the game of activism by learning informally through socialisation with experienced activists from the LTGA and the Environmental Non-Government Organisation Friends of the Earth (FOE). In turn, FOE resource the coalition and provide opportunities for both informal learning and nonformal learning to the protestors. Drawing on Bourdieu’s writing on practice, this paper outlines practices within the LTGA field that are influential in the knowledge and skill development of the activists.

Student’s relationship with teachers is important because students spend about 7 to 9 hours a day and almost 11 months with the teacher. This paper focuses on ascertaining the impact of communication between teachers and students. Communication is a motivational tool for students to accomplish their studies. In this era, education is spreading very quickly all around the world. Universities are trying to improve their standard by increasing the quality of education as well as the quality of their students. This study examines the challenges which create barriers and huddles due to communication between the teachers and students to ensure that the students succeed. For this purpose, the faculty of management science, University of Karachi, Pakistan, was used as a case study. Its impact on students through the teacher’s communication was examined. Three (3) departments are working under the faculty of management science. The random sampling method was used to gather the data from the departments. Descriptive analysis of mean and percentage were applied to find the impact of teacher’s communication on the student’s education and their success. The results show a positive relation between them. It is very difficult to create a positive relation between teachers and students when they get to a certain stage. This is because they are both mature, although it is necessary for both students and teachers. The qualities for a positive relationship can vary to make learning experience approachable and inviting for the students. If the teacher and the students have good communication skills and understand the importance of the impact of their communication, establishing a good relationship will be much easier. This research paper, however, shows that there is a positive relation between teachers and students which creates goodwill for the teachers and makes the students to be result-oriented.

Since the COVID-19 outbreak, which requires all Indonesian citizens and even around the world to apply WFH (Work from Home) including all school residents in Indonesia who apply online or online-based learning at SDIT AR-RISAALAH. The implementation of online learning has consequences for a teacher to increase his role and competence because competent teachers will be better able to manage classes and carry out evaluations for students both individually and in class. This study aims to determine the impact of online learning experienced by teachers and students during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research uses case study research, wherein collecting data information with interview techniques, namely to find data on relevant matters. The results showed that the learning process during the pandemic changed by using a remote network. This has an impact on teachers because they are less than optimal in providing learning materials and disrupting the learning process which causes the expected learning objectives to not be achieved. So that it makes the material incomplete and the use of learning media in online learning is not optimal. Student assessment is also constrained by mere cognitive assessment. This research uses the case study method as the research method, by conducting interviews with 3 teachers and 3 students of SDIT AR-RISAALAH. Abstract Background Quality of training is determined through programs’ compliance with accreditation standards, often set for a number of years. However, perspectives on quality of training within these standards may differ from the clinicians’ perspectives on quality of training. Knowledge on how standards relate to clinicians’ perspectives on quality of training is currently lacking yet is expected to lead to improved accreditation design. Methods This qualitative study design was based on a case-study research approach. We analyzed accreditation standards and conducted 29 interviews with accreditors, clinical supervisors and trainees across Australia and the Netherlands about the quality and accreditation of specialist medical training programs. The perspectives were coded and either if applicable compared to national accreditation standards of both jurisdictions, or thematized to the way stakeholders encounter accreditation standards in practice. Results There were two evident matches and four mismatches between the perspectives of clinicians and the accreditation standards. The matches are: (1) accreditation is necessary (2) trainees are the best source for quality measures. The mismatches are: (3) fundamental training aspects that accreditation standards do not capture: the balance between training and service provision, and trainee empowerment (4) using standards lack dynamism and (5) quality improvement; driven by standards or intrinsic motivation of healthcare professionals. Conclusion In our Australian and Dutch health education cases accreditation is an accepted phenomenon which may be improved by trainee empowerment, a dynamic updating process of standards and by flexibility in its use.
