Introduction:. The problem of mood disorders in adolescents has recently become acute due to the high frequency of encounter and social significance. The aim: To investigate the screening of anxiety and depressive disorders and their manifestations in adolescent children to determine risk factors and to develop measures for their prevention. Materials and methods: The study was attended by 189 students aged 16-17 years of the educational institutions of the Khmelnytskyi region. For study it was used: Spielberger questionnaire in adaptation A. Andreeva and questionnaire for child depression M. Kovacs, 1992. Results: A high level of personal anxiety was detected in 44 adolescents (23,3%) and situational in 76 (40,2%) adolescents. In 48 (25,4%) adolescents there were signs of depression, in 11 (5,8%) - severe depression. The level of depression in girls was significantly higher compared to boys (95% CI, 2,6-8,8) (p<0,0004), which was manifested in the form of aggressive behavior (95% CI, 3,3-9,4) (p<0,0001) and anhedonia (95% CI, 1,7-7,0) (p<0,001). Signs of depression more often were appeared in adolescents who had an incomplete family (95% CI, 0,7-8,5) (p<0,02) and manifested in the form of aggressive behavior (95% CI, 0,6 (p<0,02), anhedonia (95% CI, 0,7-7,3) (p<0,01) and negative self-esteem with the presence of suicidal thoughts (95% CI, 0,3-7,5) (p<0,03). Conclusions: Mood disorders are quite common among adolescents and require timely detection and correction in order to improve their social adaptation and prevent suicidal behavior. The main factors of mood disorders in adolescents can be an incomplete family and a female.

The purpose of the work is to investigate the screening frequency of anxiety and depressive disorders and their manifestations in young adolescents to determine risk factors and develop measures for their prevention. Anxiety testing was conducted for 313 students of educational institutions of the Khmelnitsky region aged 10-14 years: 156 (49.8 %) boys and 157 (50.2 %) girls. 258 people were tested for the spectrum of depressive disorders, of which 51.9 % (134) were boys and 48.1 % (124) girls. Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) was used to study anxiety, and Children's Depression Inventory (CDI) by M. Kovacs, was used to diagnose depression. The probability was evaluated using Student's t-test with the construction of a 95 % confidence interval (CI) for the difference in means. Quantitative traits are given as M±σ. A high level of personal anxiety was determined in 20 (6.4 %), and situational anxiety in 17 (5.4 %) people. The average level of personal anxiety was determined in 38 (12.1 %), and situational anxiety – in 142 (45.3 %) people. A low level of personal anxiety was identified in 255 (81.5 %), and situational anxiety – in 154 (49.3 %) people. That is, most students of early adolescence had a low level of both personal and situational anxiety. Signs of depressive disorders were detected in 50.0 % of the examined children of early adolescence who completed the questionnaires, in particular, mild manifestations of depression were found in 70 (27.2 %) people, moderate in 46 (17.2 %) people, severe depression in 13 (5.0 %) people. The level of depressive symptoms in girls was higher (53.32±12.54 points) compared with boys (50.01±9.94 points), respectively (95 % CI, 0.5 – 6.0; p<0.019). The level of depressive symptoms among students in the city was higher (50.45±8.93 points) compared with students in rural schools (46.74±10.81 points), respectively (95% CI, 0.5 – 6.9, p<0.023). When comparing the severity of depressive symptoms in children from a boarding school (59.64±15.03 points) with students of other secondary schools (52.02±9.74 points), its predominance was significant precisely in children who study at a boarding school (95% CI, 2.5 – 16.3; p<0.008). So, in children of early adolescence, most have a low level of anxiety. At the same time, depressive disorders of varying degrees were revealed in 50.0 % of the examined children, which manifested themselves mainly in the form of low mood and anhedonia. Female sex, urban living, and having an incomplete family or orphanhood are some of the key risk factors for depression in young children.

It was conducted a comprehensive survey of 100 men with depressive disorders. The clinical, psychopathological and pathopsychological features of depressive disorders associated with suicidal behavior in men were analyzed. All subjects were divided into two groups: the main group consisted of 51 patients with signs of suicidal behavior, control group consisted of 49 patients without signs of suicidal behavior. It has been shown that the clinical structure of depressive disorders is presented by sad (in 35.5 % of patients in the main group and in 34.7 % of control group), emotionally labile (in 29.9 % and in 31.3 %, respectively) and apathetic (in 34.6 % and in 34.0 %) variants. It has been established, that men with depressive disorders associated with self-destructive behavior have a high level of suicidal risk, low self-awareness of death, major or moderate depressive episode by MADRS, severe depression by HAM-D, clinically severe anxiety and depression by HADS, presence of serious suicidal intentions on the Columbian scale. Suicidogenic factors in men with depressive disorders are frustration of basic needs, loss of targeted personality installations and alcohol consumption. An original hypothesis for the detection of suicidal readiness has been proposed: the dissociation between low self-esteem of personal qualitiesand high level of claims in behavior exists in all types of suicides. The main point is that suicide occurs in a situation where environmental conditions are appear to be completely incompatible with a person’s self-esteem; preserving the personality then the protective adaptive response of the personality is accomplished in the most radical way – self-destruction. Therefore, to detect readiness for suicide, you can use the methods of experimental psychological (psychodiagnostic) research. These are methods of self-assessment of a situation, that is, a tests assessing one's own merits and determining the level of claims in behavior. Discrepancies in the performance of these tests will reflect the degree of readiness for suicide. Confirmation has been obtained through clinical and experimental psychological research. On the material of 240 subjects, the modified methods of Dembo – Rubinstein and Hoppe were used. The main group consisted of 160 persons who committed suicidal attempts, of which 98 women and 62 men, average age (41.0 ± 9.7) years, including 86 with depressive disorders, 46 with neurotic disorders and 28 mentally healthy. In the control group there were 80 healthy individuals who did not commit suicidal attempts, with identical gender balance, average age and social status. The modification of the methods was that the results were presented in quantitative terms in points. In the main group, the dissociation indicators between the high level of claims and low self-esteem according to the methods of Dembo – Rubinstein and F. Hoppe were 46.8 ± 4.6, and in the control group – 27.00 ± 5.24 (P < 0,001). The difference between dissociation in the main and control groups is very significant (P < 0,0005), a score of 40–45 points indicates a suicidal risk, and 50–55 and more confidently point to the upcoming suicide attempt. As a result, the hypothesis is confirmed and a valid method of predicting suicide or assessing the degree of its risk arises; the method is suitable for practical use.

Introduction: A recent survey put forward the hypothesis that the emigration that occurred from Sardinia from the 1960’s to the 1980’s, selected people with a hypomanic temperament. The paper aims to verify if the people who migrated from Sardinia in that period have shown a high risk of mood disorders in the surveys carried out in their host countries, and if the results are consistent with this hypothesis. Methods: This is systematic review. Results: In the 1970’s when examining the attitudes towards migration in Sardinian couples waiting to emigrate, Rudas found that the decision to emigrate was principally taken by males. Female showed lower self-esteem than male emigrants. A study on Sardinian immigrants in Argentina carried out in 2001-02, at the peak of the economic crisis, found a high risk of depressive disorders in women only. These results were opposite to the findings recorded ten years earlier in a survey on Sardinian immigrants in Paris, where the risk of Depressive Episode was higher in young men only. Discussion: Data point to a bipolar disorder risk for young (probably hypomanic) male migrants in competitive, challenging conditions; and a different kind of depressive episodes for women in trying economic conditions. The results of the survey on Sardinian migrants are partially in agreement with the hypothesis of a selective migration of people with a hypomanic temperament. Early motivations and self-esteem seem related to the ways mood disorders are expressed, and to the vulnerability to specific triggering situations in the host country.

The study involved 150 women at 23–37 weeks of pregnancy: 120 women with the threat of premature birth (main group, MG), 30 women with the physiological course of pregnancy (comparison group, CG) and their husbands. The types of interaction in the mother–child–father triad with the threat of premature birth and after childbirth have been studied. A psychodiagnostic study revealed a reliably high level of the average value of reactive and personal anxiety in women with MG. The average indicator of the level of depression is higher in the MG, where there are cases of subdepressive state and severe depression, in the CG the latter was not revealed. According to the Cranley scale, at the first stage of the study, the level of attachment to the fetus in women from MG was (71,0±1,0) points (attachment disorder), in women from CG was (51,0±2,0) points (sufficient level of attachment), p<0,05. With the help of the «Pregnant Attitude Test», the prevailing type of woman’s attitude to her unborn child was determined in terms of the course of pregnancy. It was found that in 20,8 % of women, the euphoric type predominates, 9,17 % had the optimal type, 9,17 % had hyponosognosic type, 2,5 % had anxious type, 3,33 % had depressive type. In 26,7 % of women, CG has the optimal type. There are no other types of attitudes towards pregnancy. In women with MG, disorientation prevails at all stages of the examination (41–46 people), the dependent type (35–36), autonomous (23–29), and avoidance of proximity much less often was (14–16), in women with CG, the autonomous type dominates (10–13), dependent type (8–10), and avoidance of proximity (4–9) little less often were and disorientation (3–4) much less often was. At each stage of the survey, the level of social support in the MG is reduced relative to that in the CG. It is noted that in both groups the level of social support on two scales such as the support of colleagues at work and public organizations is reduced.

Objectives. To study some peculiarities of psychophysiology of children and adolescents with scoliosis and to assess its dynamics after surgical treatment. Material and Methods. Total of 58 patients with scoliosis of grade III–IV at the age of 10 to16 years were examined, out of them 17 were operated on by Cotrel – Dubousset technique. Control group consisted of 18 practically healthy individuals of similar age. Clinical, rontgenologic and psychophysiologic methods of analysis were used. Psychoemotional state was assessed by depression level, indexes of personal and reactive anxiety, and by patients’ attitude to their disease and vital functions. Psychovegetative reactivity was evaluated by oculocardiac, cardiac-sinus and celiac-plexus reflexes. The patients were examined three times: before operation, in six and twelve months after operation. Results. Psychophysiologic status of children and adolescents with scoliosis essentially differs from that of normal ones. Psychoemotional disorders are characterized by a high level of depression, situational and personal anxiety, and by violation of social adaptation, and psychovegetative disorders – by increase in lability and reduction of reactivity of the vegetative nervous system. Conclusion. It was revealed that the psychophysiologic status of children and adolescents with scoliosis has essential peculiarities. In the nearest postoperative period the positive dynamics is mainly seen in psychoemotional status, but psychovegetative state remain without any essential dynamics.

The aim: To study the influence of anxiety and depressive disorders on life quality of patients with arterial hypertension. Materials and methods: 55 patients with arterial hypertension (AH) of 2nd stage were examined to reach the goal. Age diapason was 25-73 years, the middle age was 53.56+10.28. There were 58.2% (32) of women and 41.8% (23) of men among the patients. Results: Results analysis of the investigation of patients with arterial hypertension and anxiety and depressive disorders using the Spielberger-Khanin anxiety inventory showed moderate (30.9%) and high (69.1%) level of trait anxiety. As for the state anxiety the high level of it was confirmed in 74.6% of studied patients and moderate level of state anxiety in 25.5% of patients. During the analysis of gender-based distribution the trait anxiety level was significantly higher in women (p<0.05). Results of PHQ-9 showed subclinical depression level (12.7%), mild (49.1%) and moderate (16.4%). Moderate manifestations of depression were found in 12.7%, severe depression in 9.1% (5 individuals). As for the gender-based distribution, anxiety indicators were significantly higher in women (p<0.01). HADS method did not show significant difference of depression levels of gender-based distribution. Conclusions: The majority of individuals with arterial hypertension and nonpsychotic mental disorders have a high level of trait and state anxiety. Direct correlation was found between the trait anxiety indicator and depression severity, which were defined according to HADS and PHQ-9 questionnaires. The level of anxiety and depressive episode severity were found to be reliably higher in women in gender-based distribution, that/which was accompanied by decrease in most of the life quality indicators.

Aim: To study the clinical features of the adaptation disorders state of medical students. Material and methods of research: To solve the aim, following the principles of bioethics and deontology, a comprehensive clinical-anamnestic, clinical-psychopathological and psychodiagnostic examination of 412 students of both sexes (216 women and 196 men), Kharkiv National Medical University, average age 18.0±2.0 years. Among the surveyed 215 students of eastern Ukraine; 87 students – residents of Luhansk and Donetsk regions, enrolled in KhNMU to the beginning of the ATO and 110 students – migrants from the ATO zone. Research methods: clinical, psychopathological, psychodiagnostic, statistical. Results As shown by the results of the study, 27.0±1.7 % of students from eastern Ukraine, 36.4±1.9 % of students from residents of Luhansk and Donetsk regions who entered KhNMU for the beginning of the ATO and 92.2±3.1 % of students are migrants disadaptive states detected from the ATO zone. In the course of the work, it was established that disadaptive states of medical students manifest anxiety and depressive disorders. Depressive disorders were characterized by a lowered background of mood, affect of anguish and expectation of unhappiness, psychomotor inhibition, fixation on negative events, depressive self-assessment, reduction of the level of impulses, the presence of moderate and severe depressive episodes on the Hamilton depression scale Anxiety disorders were characterized by the dominance of the general anxious mood background with a sense of internal tension, anxiety with inability to relax, irritability, aptitude for affinity reactions, hyperesthesia, internal stress, violation of the sleep-wake cycle, presence of moderate and severe anxiety episodes on the Hamilton depression scale, high level of reactive anxiety and personal anxiety on the Spielberger-Khanin scale and excessive nervous and mental voltage on the Nemchin scale. Conclusions. Migrant students show a higher level of adaptation disorders, compared to students who enrolled in KhNMU at the beginning of the ATO, in 27.0±1.7 % of the examined I groups, 36.4±1.9 % of the examined II and 92.2±3.1 % III group revealed disadaptive states The clinical picture of disadaptive states of presentation is a combination of anxiety and depressive symptoms with a predominance of moderate and severe anxiety and depressive episodes, high levels of reactive anxiety and personal anxiety and excessive psychological stress.

The article is devoted to the problem of prevention and correction of aggressive behavior in adolescents. The increased aggressiveness of adolescent children is one of the most acute problems not only for teachers and psychologists, but also for society as a whole. The growing wave of juvenile delinquency and the increase in the number of children prone to aggressive forms of behavior shed light on the task of studying the psychological conditions that cause these dangerous phenomena. The study of aggressiveness in adolescence is especially important when this characteristic is in the stage of formation and when modern corrective measures can still be taken. The main vectors of development of the modern science of aggressive behavior are identified, the main causes of deviations are determined, and a comparative analysis of works on the prevention of aggressive behavior is carried out. For most children, some form of aggression is typical. However, it is well known that in a certain category of childhood, aggression as a permanent form of behavior not only persists, but also develops, making it a constant human quality. As a result, the adolescent's production potential decreases, his ability to communicate at a high-level decrease, and his personal development is distorted. It has been proved that the key factor in the prevention and correction of aggressive behavior should be, firstly, the family as the primary and most important institution for the formation of identity, and secondly, the pedagogically, psychological and so sociological controlled environment of educational institutions, which serves as a condition for the socialization and personal development of children and adolescents. Important questions remain open regarding the nature and origin of the aggression. The urgency of this problem determined the formulation of the topic of our research «Psychological and pedagogical correction of aggressive behavior in adolescence”.

In a study involving 150 adolescents aged 15 to 18 years the emphasis was placed on the connection of the bullying victim position and level of aggressiveness. The following methods were used: a questionnaire, a method of sociometry, Rosenberg self-esteem scale, Bass-Perry aggressive behavior diagnosis questionnaire. We tested the assumption that the people occupying the bullying victim position, have a high level of aggression. Analysis of the results showed that the greatest number of subjects play the role of the aggressor / victim, and most often, adolescents face verbal type of bullying. The study analyzed the gender aspect of bullying. It was concluded that the group of bullying aggressors / victims is the most difficult and dangerous for the development of the personality of a teenager. Also, we made conclusions about poor awareness about bullying in teachers and tolerance to bullying in the educational environment. Due to the above study, we identified and describe the mechanisms of formation and manifestation of aggressive behaviors in bullying.
