In emotional speech, human-specific linguistic, logical, and spiritual activities are interconnected, reflecting a unique process of verbal thinking in a unique way, which once again demonstrates that language is one of the means of moving not only the mind but also the psyche. In this sense, in linguistics, emotional speech is perceived as one of the distinct, distinctive linguistic, speech structures. Emotional speech expands with concepts and categories related to activities such as perception, cognition, comprehension, analysis as a linguistic and speech structure, one of the special syntactic devices, aimed at conveying emotional affect through linguistic, intonational and grammatical means. They manifest the activity of a person’s thinking, feeling, or expression of feelings.

Emotional speech, linguistic, logical, and spiritual activities are interconnected, reflecting the process of speaking in a specific way, which again proves that language is not only a means of moving the mind but also affecting the spirit. In this sense, linguistic emotion is recognized as one of the distinctive linguistic structures of speech. Emotional sentence is primarily a linguistic activity and its product. The emotional and psychosocial factors are also influenced by the emotional expression of psychology (which represents different mental emotions of a person), sociological (which can be a form of social communication, a means of interpersonal communication). The main purpose of an emotional sentence is communication, interference-information, and it helps to express different emotions. By its structure it is often one-component. They have a number of repetitions of the word that emphasizes empathy to enhance emotionality. Its construction is sometimes based on inversion. The end of the note is marked with an exclamation mark, and its use takes into account the strength or weakness of the tone.

In this paper, the Mexican Emotional Speech Database (MESD) that contains single-word emotional utterances for anger, disgust, fear, happiness, neutral and sadness with adult (male and female) and child voices is described. To validate the emotional prosody of the uttered words, a cubic Support Vector Machines classifier was trained on the basis of prosodic, spectral and voice quality features for each case study: (1) male adult, (2) female adult and (3) child. In addition, cultural, semantic, and linguistic shaping of emotional expression was assessed by statistical analysis. This study was registered at BioMed Central and is part of the implementation of a published study protocol. Mean emotional classification accuracies yielded 93.3%, 89.4% and 83.3% for male, female and child utterances respectively. Statistical analysis emphasized the shaping of emotional prosodies by semantic and linguistic features. A cultural variation in emotional expression was highlighted by comparing the MESD with the INTERFACE for Castilian Spanish database. The MESD provides reliable content for linguistic emotional prosody shaped by the Mexican cultural environment. In order to facilitate further investigations, a corpus controlled for linguistic features and emotional semantics, as well as one containing words repeated across voices and emotions are provided. The MESD is made freely available.

AbstractThe target article by Boyer & Petersen (B&P) contributes a vital message: that people have folk economic theories that shape their thoughts and behavior in the marketplace. This message is all the more important because, in the history of economic thought, Homo economicus was increasingly stripped of mental capacities. Intuitive theories can help restore the mind of Homo economicus.
