In this paper, common fixed point theorems for mappings satisfying a generalized contractive condition are obtained in symmetric spaces by using the notion of common property (E.A.). In the process, a host of previously known results are improved and generalized. We also derive results on common fixed point in probabilistic symmetric spaces.

The aim of this paper is to obtain some new common fixed point theorems for weakly compatible mappings in symmetric spaces satisfying an implicit function. Some illustrative examples to highlight the realized improvements are furnished. Our results generalize and extend some recent results contained in Ali and Imdad [Sarajevo J. Math. 4(17)(2008), 269-285] to symmetric spaces and consequently a host of metrical common fixed theorems are generalized and improved. We state an integral type fixed point theorem in symmetric space. In the process, we also derive a fixed point result on common fixed point in probabilistic symmetric spaces.

A general common fixed point theorem for two pairs of occasionally weak compatible expansive mappings satisfying a significantly enriched implicit function is proved in symmetric spaces which generalizes several previously known results. Some related results and illustrative examples are also discussed.

AbstractThe purpose of this paper is to prove common fixed point theorems for a family of mappings in symmetric spaces using the property (E.A) and weak compatibility or occasionally weak compatibility. Our results extend some recent results.

AbstractA general common fixed point theorem for two pairs of weakly subsequentially continuous mappings (recently introduced) satisfying a significant estimated implicit function is proved. An extension of this result is thereby obtained. Our results assert the existence and uniqueness of common fixed points in several cases.
