Innovation research has got a very significant value in modern research. In contemporary galvanized world, supremacy of new innovation strategies has taken over older strategies. Inbound and outbound innovation strategies have moved from resources based closed innovations within the organization to relation based innovations via interaction with outside world of organizations and customers. There have been research on the relationship of these open innovation strategies with organizational performance and innovation performance. But there was a great need of the empirical research on the impacts these strategies make on innovation performance in Malaysian manufacturing industries. As Malaysia is on slide on world innovation index from 31st to 37th in last five years, an alarm for academics, researchers, industry and government. This endeavor meets that objective. After introduction of the main constructs, a detailed literature review is presented. And a research framework is designed on the basis of the literature. AN updated model of innovation is proposed for BOS and innovation performance. This is an empirical study so the hypothesis are formulated. It is a quantitative research study so data was collected from all over the Malaysian manufacturing and services sector to have a detailed view of the industry. Appropriate different statistical tests are applied to display results considering the requirements of industry, academia and other stake holders. In the end results are presented, and the conclusion is provided for the benefits of Malaysian industries and government. Some insights in the future research area are also provided for the researchers

This study sought to investigate the effect of IT employees' engagement on organizational performance through the mediating role of job satisfaction for IT employees within the IT Departments in Jordanian banking sector. Quantitative research design and regression analysis were applied on a total of 429 valid returns that were obtained in a questionnaire based survey. The results showed that IT employee engagement significantly affected organizational performance and three of its dimensions, vigor, absorption, and dedication contributed significantly to organizational performance. The results also showed that IT employee engagement positively and significantly affected job satisfaction, where vigor had the most contribution. In addition, it was found that job satisfaction significantly and positively affected organizational performance. Furthermore, job satisfaction only partially mediated the association between IT employee engagement and organizational performance. This study implies that IT departments in Jordanian banking should try their best to promote and facilitate IT employees' engagement and satisfaction in an effort to improve their performance, which will eventually yield positive results for the bank as a whole. In light of these results, the research presented many recommendations for future research, the most important ones were the application of this study in other sectors, cultures, and countries, the exploration of the moderating role of job satisfaction instead of mediating role, and the use of other sampling techniques.

It is a quantitative research study so data was collected from all over the Malaysian manufacturing organizations. PLS is used to predict the model. Results reveal that three of the five BOS constructs enhance innovation performance.


With recent advancements in information technology, organizations’ capability to acquire and analyze data for efficient decision making has increased. Good strategies promote alignment among processes and technology in use, which may result in better firm performance. However, there has been little focus on how firm strategies and business intelligence (BI) systems might play their part in forming organizational information and getting a competitive edge. Therefore, the purpose of conducting this study is to investigate the impact of firm strategy on firm competitive advantage with mediating role of BI adoption and moderating role of BI capabilities. For this, a quantitative research methodology was used, and data was collected from 300 middle-level managers in Pakistan's telecom sector. Statistical tests such as descriptive statistics, correlation, reliability analysis, one-way ANOVA, confirmatory factor analysis, and mediation analysis through Hayes process were performed using SPSS and AMOS. The findings revealed a positive link between firm strategy and competitive advantage, with business intelligence adoption serving as a mediating factor. Business intelligence capabilities positively moderate the relationship between BI adoption and competitive advantage. Hence, all proposed hypotheses (H1, H2, and H3) were approved. The contribution and Limitation of the study are also discussed.

This research aims to determine the effect of team cohesion on work engagement with the mediating role of psychological empowerment. JD-R model is used to explain the phenomenon. We learn about how people who are engaged in ongoing working in team give an impact on people work engagement. Based on quantitative research from 557 participants from Indonesian military forces that were temporarily placed to carry out peace missions on conflict countries. By using Process to analyze data, we found that psychological empowerment partially mediate the relationship of team cohesion on work engagement (path a: Coeff = .29, SE = .04, p < .01, 95%CL .22 to .37; path b: Coeff = .23, SE = .03, p < .01, 95%CL .17 to .30; path c’, Coeff = .10, SE = .03, p < .01, 95%CL .04 to .17).

Considering the current turbulent macroeconomic environment, the aim of this research is to explore the influence of innovation in tangible and intangible resource allocation. The literature underlines that organizations are facing a revolution in their business processes. As such, there is a need to understand the value of knowledge resources and to identify ways to manage them. This paper explores the field of resource allocation, namely dynamic capabilities, and highlights the importance of monitoring intangible resources. This research has three specific contributions. The first contribution provides a comprehensive picture of what has occurred in the field of tangible and intangible resource allocation, such as intellectual capital and its importance towards organizational performance. Secondly, it offers evidence about the actual need for performance measurement tools that foster intangible resource monitoring. Organizations devote special attention to market demands which consequently lead managers to adapt their strategies in areas concerning resource allocation. Given this importance, this research, comprising major innovative organizations in Portugal from diverse activity sectors, provides new insights and stresses the importance of tools to follow the overall performance of resource allocation. Managers of innovative organizations recognize the very powerful features of the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) in monitoring and linking strategic resources of both tangible and intangible natures. Thirdly, this research, with a view to enrich the field of intangible natures, points out some aspects for future research areas, bearing in mind the relevance of this research area confirmed by managers of the major innovative organizations. Thus, it provides prominent information for both academia and innovative organizations.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to examine the extent to which the five European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) model enablers, as the latent factor “enabler excellence,” are associated with business performance, taking into consideration the mediating role of innovation in this relationship.Design/methodology/approachThe analysis followed in order to investigate the relations among the various constructs of the proposed model includes an initial exploratory factor analysis, followed by confirmatory factor analysis and finally structural equation modeling.FindingsAccording to the study findings, “enabler excellence” and innovation performance directly contribute to business performance. Moreover, this paper concludes that innovation performance partially mediates the effect of excellence enablers on business performance.Research limitations/implicationsThis study does not separate between radical and incremental innovation; thus, it would be very interesting to explore this issue in future research. Moreover, it might be useful for researchers to reassess the proposed relationships examining the mediating role of organizational culture.Practical implicationsThis study offers clear implications for managers, proving that they should give higher emphasis on quality management (QM) and the four dimensions of innovation in order to achieve increased performance.Originality/valueBased on the multidimensional structure of the EFQM model, this empirical study determines the contribution of QM to business performance taking into consideration the role of innovation performance as a mediator in this relationship.

Purpose: Output of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) mostly depends upon efficiency and performance in completing different projects. NGOs in Pakistan operate in diverse fields including health, education, women empowerment etc. The job of the NGOs tends to be stressful due to security issues, psychological strains, organizational structures, and various roles of the employees. This study investigated and explored outcomes of occupational stress in the form of employee engagement at work; furthermore, the research investigated that how emotional intelligence intervenes the impact of occupational stress and employee engagement, as being the mediator. The conservation of resource theory (COR) is applied to explore the relationship of occupational stress and its outcomes in non government organizations of Pakistan. Methodology/Design/Approach: Data was collected from 346 employees (middle level) of NGOs. Stratified sampling technique was used to collect the data. The study makes use of quantitative analytics to test the hypothesis. A positivist approach was adopted for the study as it follows a well-defined structure for the topic under study. Correlation, Regression and sobel’s test for mediation analysis was used in the research to study the relation among the variables. Findings: The study finds the effect of occupational stress on engagement of employees in NGOs and this relationship is mediated by four constructs (relationship management, social management, self-awareness and self-management) of Emotional intelligence. The study concludes that more the level of occupational stress, lower the engagement of employees. This study also finds that relationship between occupational stress and reduced employee engagement is lowered in employees having high level of emotional intelligence. Results also found to be consistent with conservation of resource theory. Limitations/Future Research: The current study is limited to the middle level management; future research can be further extended to all levels in the organization. Employee engagement as a single outcome off occupational stress is analyzed other outcomes may be explored in future researches. Implications: This study contributes to the literature of occupational stress and its outcome in the shape of engagement with an individuality of how emotional intelligence mediates this relationship. The study supports the results of the growing scholarly work on the phenomenon. Practical implications: This research provides insight for organizations, management and for individuals to incorporate emotional intelligence effectively to deal with the stress without being depleted. Additionally, recommendations are provided for the NGOs to enhance the organizational performance through employee engagement and emotional intelligence. Originality/Value: This research explored and analyzed relationship of occupational stress and engagement and emotional intelligence in a different dimension. Further the non-governmental organization remains largely unexplored in this area.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of transformational leadership on employee performance and to analyze the mediating role of work commitment. This research is a type of quantitative research, using a questionnaire arranged with a 5 point Likert scale. The research variables consisted of transformational leadership as an exogenous variable, employee performance as an endogenous variable, and work commitment while the mediating variable. The research sample was 80 employees of PT. Kalbe Farma, Tbk. The data analysis technique uses path analysis. The results showed that transformational leadership has a direct effect on employee performance. Other findings indicate that work commitment acts as a partial mediator of the relationship between transformational leadership and employee performance. Future research can develop research by including the role of organizational culture as a factor influencing commitment and performance.

In today's changing environment companies are pushed to be flexible, develop new strategies and implement change plans. Strategy implementation and realisation is a critical component of organizational performance, however, many organizations fail to implement their strategic plans, while others could not achieve their desired results. In practice nowadays more attention is paid to the implementation of the strategy than to its creation, still strategy research most often treats strategy execution and realisation as a black box. The aim of this study is to find out the factors influencing the successful implementation and realization of business strategy in Latvian organizations. Quantitative research using a structured questionnaire (n = 440) and a multivariate linear regression analysis shows that managerial competence and leadership followed by clarity of goals play a decisive role in the successful implementation of business strategy. Implications of the results for managerial practice are discussed and propositions for future research provided


The present study investigated the impact of execution planning on agile project success with the mediating role of information sharing and moderating role of organization effectiveness because of the highlighted importance of agile methodology in the project industry due to its interactive customer collaborative approach. For this purpose, data were collected from software industry in Pakistan who utilize agile methodology in their projects. 300 completed questionnaires were received from the distributed and 280 were utilized for data analysis. The results delineated that execution planning has positive and significant relationship with agile project success. Similarly, the results indicated that information sharing mediates the relationship between execution planning and agile project success. Furthermore, the data showed that organization effectiveness moderates the relationship of execution planning and information sharing. Lastly, we conclude with theoretical and practical implications as well as future research directions.
