The emergence of new digital technologies and the existence of digital media has had an important impact in changing the operation of business environment. Correspondingly, the diversity of applications and digital media has now provided a broader space for the users, including the entrepreneurs, to enhance and upsurge their contact with customers and suppliers in entrepreneurship sector. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and the Web are particularly the integrated and dynamic tool in nurturing entrepreneurship as well as act as the communication and marketing tool to grow the business. It is important to explore the new phenomenon in entrepreneurship that is closely related to ICT usage. The purpose of this study was to identify the patterns of ICT usage and to analyze the relationship between digital inclusion and its implications among entrepreneurs of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The quantitative method is employed in this study with samples aimed at focusing on entrepreneurs in the Klang Valley. A questionnaire was distributed directly to 500 respondents aged between 18 to 55 years old. The data collected were analyzed descriptively and with correlation inference by using the SPSS software. The finding indicated a significant and strong relationship between digital inclusion and its implications (p <0.005, r = .685) among entrepreneurs of SMEs. It revealed that the entrepreneurs with high involvement in ICT usage have high implications in terms of innovation and business satisfaction. The study recommends that the government should play a dynamic role in education and training for the development of the SMEs as well as bridge the gap among the SMEs to adopt the use of digital media tools. In sum, the use of ICT contributes to enhance a number of benefits such as to be more competitive, innovative, expanding business networks and gaining more global marketing opportunities.

The digital economy is a new business environment that enables enterprises to operate and provide services via the Internet and digital platforms. The study was on the effect of economic digitisation on growth of SMEs in Nairobi CBD. The specific objectives were to determine the effect of digital financial services, digital content, digital values and skills and the effect of online advertising on the growth of small and medium enterprises. The sample size in this study was 1000 SMEs formally registered in the study area from where a sample of 300 was randomly selected. The questionnaire was employed for the purpose of data collection from which out of the 300 questionnaires distributed, 180 were returned representing a 60% response rate. Guided by the research objectives, the data collected through the questionnaire were sorted, coded and presented in graphical and tabular forms for the purpose of descriptive analysis. To determine the significance of the relationship between the dependent and independent variables, a regression analysis was carried out using the Statistical Package of Social Sciences (SPSS) version 24. The study established that digital financial services were significant factors in ensuring growth of SMEs in Kenya. The study concluded that Mobile payments have become a favorite means of making financial transactions.  The study also established that Applications available for mobile digital devices is expected to increase enormously.  Digital payment technology has increased over the last decade. From the findings, it was concluded that Consumers grow more familiar with the different payment systems available and encourage more transactions. The SMEs should explore the possibility of forming a management committee to streamline economic digitisation issues. It is recommended that the organization clearly spell out economic digitisation procedures and criteria. This can stir positive growth  among SMEs establishments and can result in effective management. The Government and the various agencies should also make provisions for training programs for SMEs  to empower them in terms of economic digitisation. The SMEs should not rely on external professionals to assist in digitisation as this may be expensive. It is also recommended that the SMEs should adopt digital financial services. E-commerce will ensure increased profitability for small and medium enterprises. They should also have Social networking sites, which have proved to be popular online activities in relation to time, spent. They should also adopt Innovation driven entrepreneurship as it contributes to increase in sales revenue, market share, efficiency, customers’ loyalty and firm profitability.

A good business environment means a catalyst for small and medium enterprises, a good business environment facilitates development and sustainability of small and medium enterprises. The development of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) is very important to the economic development of a country, and intentionally, MSMEs are considered to be amongst the most efficient instruments for economies in transition, because of their production of sustainable economic growth, employment and poverty reduction.Small and medium enterprises are a generator of new products and technologies; they are are a source of new ideas and advanced strategies of management. Development and sustainability of small and medium enterprises depends on the business environment, which implies a series of social, legal, economic, political or institutional conditions, which are uncontrollable in nature, and affect the organizations’ functions.This study addresses the baseline documents which were taken into consideration by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo in developing economic policies, thereby analysing their advantages and disadvantages. By analysing reports, statistics on MSMEs and other documents, and further complementing the study by a research section (business survey), this paper aims at identifying the key problems faced by the MSMEs in Kosovo, and provide adequate recommendations which may be of service in resolving such problems, but also resulting into a better business environment, and economic development in general.

This study aims to find the strategy of developing MSMEs based on potential and opportunities in the period of covid-19. The research object is the MSME unit in Bandar Lampung City, especially MSME banana chips. This study used qualitative descriptive analysis with SWOT analysis. Based on the results it is known that the position of MSMEs is in quadrant I. The strategy of developing MSMEs is to increase the potential and take advantage of opportunities. One of the strategies is the utilization of information technology and social media in the development of MSMEs of the region's flagship banana chip products. The results of this research are expected to be useful as consideration for MSMEs to develop their businesses even during the COVID 19 pandemic. Likewise, for the government to actively socialize the use of digital media for MSMEs so that MSME development will increase. The limitation of this research is that it has not quantitatively calculated the role of social media and information technology in MSME development. This could be an opportunity for further research

The use of information and communication technology( ICTs) in the public sector is one of the most important effects were caused by IT .Nowadays, with the development of e-government, set of information are available about the public sector in electronic databases Significantly, that may be agree with each other . Public sector information is considered the most important thing in e-government environment   ,it has a great value. (Shao & Wang, 2010). Moreover, The government environment become is using the Internet and information technology, mainly on their interactions with businesses and citizens, and among themselves. One of the e-Government initiatives is the development of the government-to-business (G2B) system, which is an agenda sets to promote a higher service quality between government entities and the business sector (Dong, Xiong & Han, 2010).This paper aims to discover the importance of the government's small and medium enterprises under the umbrella of e-services G2B. G2B transactions include various services exchanged between the government and the business community, including the deployment of policies and memos, rules and regulations. It includes commercial services provided access to current business information, application forms are loaded, renewal of licenses, registration of companies, to obtain permits, pay taxes, e-Procurement service ERAs (slaves and Abu Shanab, 2010).

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have become one sector in Indonesia that are important for economic development. However, the system for MSMEs are unknown and unconstructed, especially with the development of information and communication technology that affect the sustainability and productivity of MSMEs. Therefore, this study’s first objective is to build a model that contains MSMEs model in macroscopic view with the involvement of ICT to enhance income for MSMEs. Second objective is to determine what recommendations should be given to raise the economic development received from MSMEs involvement according to the model. The results are a causal loop model is built based on previous researches about MSMEs that combine factors and important elements in the system. Based on the diagram, there are three recommendations given to the Government: trainings to MSMEs about ICT for their businesses, continuing to apply tax reduction for MSMEs, and enhancing their market shares by internalization process

In Kyrgyzstan, are 10 399 small businesses and 710 medium-sized enterprises. Most of them are headed by entrepreneurs who, starting from scratch, overcome countless obstacles, as many entrepreneurs do not have the notion and skills in doing business. But, nevertheless, there is a positive tendency in entrepreneurs to get knowledge on the legal conditions of the enterprise, taxation, accounting, analysis of their financial condition, and business planning. All this knowledge is necessary, but they cover the microlevel, while for an adequate, sustainable and profitable development there is an objective need for analyzing the macro environment of the business. In this report, we will consider the relevance of the use of certain marketing tools with which you can identify the threats and opportunities facing domestic business, as well as assess the impact of global factors that predetermine the future development of the business environment. Research in this area is currently being carried out by the Institute of Economics of the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic within the framework of the Government Development Program "Jany Doordo - kyrk kadam (2018-2023) Kadam 8" Support for Small and Medium Enterprises.

The internet brings so many opportunities for economic, social, and other activities. On the other hand, internet activities have created cybercrimes which have been a major challenge to the business environment, especially the small and medium enterprises. Therefore, this study examined the impact of cybercrimes on small and medium enterprise's activities in the Federal Capital Tertiary (FCT). The study used structured questionnaires, a population of two thousand, eight hundred and twenty-five (2825) Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Federal Capital Tertiary, and a sample size of three hundred and fifty (350). The study used the mean of descriptive analysis and Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) for the estimation of the mean values of the cybercrime indicators (Hacking and Spamming cybercrimes (HSC), Cyber Theft and Identity Theft Cybercrimes (CTITC), Financial Fraud and Laundering Cybercrimes (FFLC) and Website Cloning Cybercrimes (WECC)). However, the mean ratings of the various responses were calculated and were used to answer the research questions. The mean of 1, 2, 3, and 4 is 2.50 for this study; a mean rating of 2.51 or above was regarded as significant while a mean rating less than 2.50 was regarded as insignificant in explaining the changes in the variables under study. Also, the study findings revealed that hacking and spamming cybercrimes (HSC), cyber theft and identity theft cybercrimes (CTITC), financial fraud and laundering cybercrimes (FFLC) and website cloning cybercrimes (WECC) have a negative impact on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) activities in Federal Capital Tertiary (FCT). Therefore, the study recommended that the government and all concerned agencies should design measures in controlling and preventing hacking, spamming, financial fraud, and laundering cybercrimes since these are the major cybercrimes affecting SME activities. And also, there need for increased literacy for SMEs to mitigate against hacking, spamming, financial fraud, laundering, and website cloning

Building on Resource-Based View (RBV) and Institutional Theory (IT), we decided to study the internal and external factors that affect the choice between different growth strategies in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in an emerging economy. We started identifying that there is a direct relationship between technological resources and an organic growth strategy, financial resources and an acquisitive growth strategy, and networking capabilities and a hybrid growth strategy. We argue that the intensity of these relations is moderated by institutional factors, such as a country’s intellectual property protections (for organic strategies), credit access (for acquisitive strategies), and trust in the business environment (for hybrid strategies). We based our findings on 450 face-to-face surveys with CEOs from firms in the Electronic Technology, Information, and Communication Sector (ETICS) in Mexico. Managerial implications are also discussed in the paper, as well as future avenues of research.

The Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are considered as the mainstay of the economy, whereas the Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) is regarded as unitary of the major drivers for SMEs. The function of the ICT is to ensure that as far as the organizations are concerned, their strategy and design, innovation of new products, services, processes, productivity, expansion of market size, improvement of product qualities, enhancement of performance and, development, as well as supporting business competitiveness can be executed accordingly. However, debates about the efficient uses of ICTs by SMEs in developing nations are being discussed and reported widely. Therefore, this study analyzes the critical success factors on the ICTs adoption in the SMEs globally focusing on Oman. Questionnaire survey is conducted among the managers of the SMEs. It is found that the effective adoption of ICTs in the SMEs is caused by a number of success factors including among others limited access to markets and, finance, lack of awareness to global markets, unfriendly business environment, poor management skills and lack of updated technology. complication of the bureaucracy process, as well as lack of training relating to basic business.


Ponorogo Regency is one of a centre for traditional pottery in East Java, Indonesia. Several problems faced by craftsmen have caused a lack of development of pottery craft businesses in the region. With a qualitative approach, this research was conducted to analyse the strategies and factors that influence the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) traditional clay pottery in the region. The methods used in collecting data include 1) Observation, 2) in-depth interviews with pottery craftsmen, pottery traders, and local government, 3) documentation, 4) conducting focus group discussions (FGD). The research show that the underdevelopment of traditional pottery craft businesses has been carried out for generations due to various factors including lack of regeneration of business managers, monotonous results of pottery crafts, weak network marketing, small business capital, and low understanding of technology information and communication. The strategies carried out by pottery craftsmen and the government to develop pottery craft businesses include optimizing community empowerment activities through training and fostering innovative technology for marketing and product development for craftsmen, forming marketing networks through the pottery craftsmen association in Slahung, Ponorogo district, village pioneering tour and education of pottery crafts, and the government synergizes with craftsmen in seeking easy access to capital.
