The paper is devoted to the problems of legal and technical making the ramp for disabled persons with scaffolds. Scaffolding system components allow you to assemble a structure that serve as the ramp and fulfil the requirements of technical conditions. From a legal point the most important is the fact that the ramp construction needs a building application. In this regard, the greatest problems is obtaining the rights to use the property for construction purposes. A big challenge is to also perform stress analysis, taking into account of dynamic impacts caused by the movement of the trolley. In this regard, the paper presents a numerical model of the ramp, static analysis, modal analysis and results of prediction of a disabled person ride on the trolley. The results of computer calculations have shown that the construction of the ramp requires the exact numerical analysis. Therefore, the best option would be in order to scaffolding companies will prepare relevant technical documentation of products which are ramps for the disabled.

Leaf springs are widely used for the suspension system in trains and commercial vehicles to absorb vibrations and shocks. This paper deals with the methodology of analysis of the leaf springs of the freight railway wagons by using software package Ansys 14.5. The methodology is applied in a concrete example of leaf spring for axle load of 225 kN. The procedure of forming the CAD model of the leaf spring using AutoCad and Autodesk Inventor is exposed, as well as the development of numerical model in Ansys software package. The results of the static analysis of given leaf spring are presented and commented.

In this paper, a deterministic stress decomposition is applied over the numerical three-dimensional flow solution available for a single volute centrifugal pump. The numerical model has proven in previous publications its robustness to obtain the impeller to volute-tongue flow interaction, and it is now used as starting point for the current research. The main objective has been oriented toward a detailed analysis of the lack of uniformity in the flow that the volute tongue promotes on the blade-to-blade axisymmetric pattern. Through this analysis, the fluctuation field may be retrieved and main interaction sources have been pinpointed. The results obtained with the deterministic analysis become of paramount interest to understand the different flow features found in a typical centrifugal pump as a function of the flow rate. Moreover, this postprocessing tool provides an economic and easy procedure for designers to compare the different deterministic terms, also giving relevant information on the unresolved turbulence intensity scales. Complementarily, a way to model the turbulent effects in a systematic way is also presented, comparing their impact on the performance with respect to deterministic sources in a useful framework, that may be applied for similar kinds of pumps.

The objective of this article is to present the results obtained in a study on the interaction between the behavior of the structure and the foundation settlements and verify the influence of normal load distribution on the columns. In this mechanism, known as structure soil interaction (SSI), as the building is constructed, a transfer of loads occurs from the columns which tend to settle more to those that tend to settle less. The study was conducted in a building which had its settlements monitored from the beginning of construction. For this purpose, a linear tridimensional numerical model was constructed and numerical analysis was performed, using the finite elements method. In these analyses, numerical models corre- sponding to the execution of each floor were used, considering the settlements measured in each stage of the construction. The results of analy- ses showed that the effect of SSI are significant for calculating the normal efforts on the columns, particularly on those located in the first floors.

The purpose of this project is to increase the knowledge of technology and services of smart homes for disabled people. There is a clear need for such new knowledge since the number of disabled people is significant. Indeed, new technologies and services of smart homes have the potential to increase effectiveness and efficiency of caring disabled. With right solutions there is a great potential to increase disabled persons' quality of life. The need for the development of such technologies and services increases due to the disabled individuals' desire to remain independent in their own homes, the increasing costs of health care, and the aging of the population. This article discusses the concept of secured door lock/unlock system for the differently able. The juxtaposition of safety vs. privacy can be alleviated with this technology. Moreover, as there is need to assist disabled to protect them from various forms of abuse, and prevent immoderation of pleasure giving activities.

BACKGROUND: Wheelchair skills training is an essential part of rehabilitation of the disabled persons with lower limb amputation (LLA) due to peripheral artery disease (PAD). However, nowadays this issue is poorly addressed in our country, there are no standardized technologies. AIM: Investigation of dynamics of the extent of wheelchair usage among disabled persons with LLA due to PAD during adjustment to the wheelchair using the Wheelchair Skills Program (WSP, Canada). MATERIALS AND METHODS: Altogether, 350 patients with lower limb stump [unilateral tibial stump ― 116 (33.1%), hip stump ― 223 (63.7%), bilateral tibial stumps ― 6 (1.7%), hip stump ― 5 (1.4%)] were examined in clinical settings at the Federal State Budgetary Institution Novokuznetsk Scientific and Practical Centre for Medical and Social Expertise and Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Russian Federation. Male ― 268 (76.6%), female ― 82 (23.4%). Mean age 63.10.52 years. Cause of LLA: obliterative PAD (lower limb atherosclerotic arterial disease) ― 226 (64.6%), type 2 diabetes mellitus ― 124 (35.4%). WSP effectiveness was assessed in 227 disabled persons. Wheelchair skills retention in 1.1 (0.591.87) years was assessed in 48 persons, 25 persons have undergone training second time. RESULTS: It was found that 86% of the disabled persons with LLA needed the wheelchair skills training. Upon the completion of the course the level of individual wheelchair skills was increased in all participants. This contributed to an increase in their activities and participation, which was indirectly evidenced by 1.8 fold increase in the proportion of those using the wheelchair outdoors by the time of second hospitalization. CONCLUSION: The program provides an individual approach to training, based on the results of a study of the initial level of proficiency in wheelchair skills, the wishes of the user himself, his physical, somatic and psychological condition. Thanks to this, novice users were able to master basic skills, and relatively experienced ones ― more complex, and thereby increase their level of safe use of the wheelchair, as well as the degree of independence and everyday activity, which can indirectly be evidenced by a significant increase in the share of wheelchair users outside the house.

The article deals with issues related to the problem of vocational rehabilitation of disabled people. The competence of the Russian Federation in the fi eld of rehabilitation of disabled persons in the person of its Federal authorities and management, subjects of the Russian Federation and local self-government bodies is specifi ed. The content of such concepts as "services for professional rehabilitation of disabled people" in accordance with the state standard GOST R 53873-2010 Rehabilitation of disabled people is disclosed. Professional rehabilitation services for the disabled; "professional rehabilitation program" and "options for professional rehabilitation". Despite the fact that professional rehabilitation and adaptation in the workplace is an integral part of the state policy in the fi eld of social protection of persons with disabilities, there are many unresolved problems and diffi culties in this area.
