Leadership is an essential aspect that people and communities worldwide depend on to make important decisions. The core function of leaders is to aid and support their followers to accomplish a common goal. The International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) has been voting student leaders since its inception. These student leaders help in the administration of student affairs in several aspects. This study aims to examine the attributes of IIUM student leaders towards voting. Specifically, it aims to determine the relationships of qualities, characteristics, important ideal qualities of student leaders, and Islamic principles of leaders with voting in IIUM. The study utilizes the great man’s theory of leadership to explain the relationships between the variables. The quantitative research design and survey method with a questionnaire as the tool for data collection were used in this research. A total of 327 IIUM students participated in this study. The findings of the study reveal that students look at their leaders in a positive and motivating way. They view the leaders as consistently performing an excellent leadership job and have good values through different characteristics, with important qualities and Islamic leadership principles. Additionally, students tend to consider both inbuilt and external attributes while voting for their leaders to be in power. The findings also show the presence of significant relationships among the variables of the study. The great man’s theory is also supported in this study.

IIUM Zero Single-Use Plastic Campaign was launched in February 2019, requiring everyone in IIUM not to use plastics including plastic straws, plastic bags, and plastic food containers. As such, this study attempted to gauge the IIUM community’s reception towards the Zero Single-Use Plastic Campaign. The objectives of this study are: (1) to determine the level of awareness, perception, attitude, readiness, and behaviour towards the Zero Single-Use Plastic Campaign; (2) to analyze the relationship among awareness, perception, attitude, readiness, and behaviour in the Zero Single-Use Plastic Campaign; and (3) to find out the best predictor of community behaviour towards such campaign. The study tested the theory of planned behaviour and employed a quantitative research design using the survey method with the questionnaire as its research instrument for data collection. A total of 398 respondents participated in the study. The results of the study show that there is a high level of awareness, perception, attitude, readiness, and behaviour towards the Zero Single-Use Plastic Campaign. Also, there are positive and significant relationships between the factors and behaviour (usage). Readiness is the best predictor of the zero single-use plastic usage. All the hypotheses are supported. Therefore, it can be concluded that the IIUM campus community supports the campaign. Hence, the theory of planned behaviour holds true and is supported by this study. Keywords: Attitude, awareness, behaviour, perception, readiness towards the campaign.

New world today has come out with many technology in helping us to ease our daily live. This includes creating a new system in e –commerce. Among the latest upgraded technology that arise during these days are the ability to use smart phone for buying and purchasing purpose. Like many other industries, food industry is currently effected with massive development of systems in providing better services and quality in terms of food ordering, selecting and delivery. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors effecting the students’ choices towards online food delivery. The quantitative research method was chosen and the questionnaire was used to collect data as a survey method. Structured questionnaire was used in this study. There were 265 respondents who were randomly included in the questionnaires conducted by the researcher. The data was analyzed using Google form and questionnaire. The data collected was analyzed by using Statistical Packages for Social Science Version 25 (SPSS Version 25) software based on descriptive analysis, reliability analysis, and correlation analysis. As for the result, all of the independent variables (attitudes, time saving, and promotion) that had been studied in this research had significant relationships towards dependent variable (consumer behavior). The result of the research objectives which is to examine the relationship between attitudes, time saving and promotion that influencing consumer behavior towards Online Food Delivery.

This article charges student affairs professionals who work with student leaders to become more intentional in how they and their students create and contribute to community. Towards that end, this article delineates a process called community-praxis that teaches students how to talk about, think about, and do community. Organization advisors who utilize community-praxis will help student members more deliberately conceptualize and create and recreate the type of community associated with their particular club, organization, or association. The process may have educational value for the advisors as well. By facilitating the community-praxis delineated here, advisors will be prompted to review the democratic theories and procedures that have long shaped educational communities. Additionally, they likely will be introduced to viable postmodern theories and practices that have not traditionally informed the ways educators conceptualize and operationalize their own campus communities.

This study examined student leaders’ attitudes towards lesbian, gay, and bisexual (LGB) students and compared resident advisors’ (RAs) attitudes to those of other student leaders. Despite careful selection, training, and supervision of RAs, results revealed no differences between RAs’ attitudes and those of other student leaders. The number of LGB family and friends reported by participants was the only factor significantly related to positive attitudes toward LGB individuals. Implications for student affairs professionals are discussed, and suggestions for improving campus climate for LGB students are provided.

This study aims to examine the effect of fraud prevention on village / village financial management as the dependent variable and the competency of village apparatuses, compliance of government financial reporting, internal control systems as independent variables while moral sensitivity as amoderating variable. This research is a quantitative research or hypothetic - deductive method that aims to answer such questions that are related to exploratory, descriptive, explanatory and predictive studies. Primary data is mainly used in this research. Data collection is conducted using a survey method in the form of a questionnaire that lists the statements, which were given to the respondents to be filled in order to get information, and then the data analyzing was conducted using the Warp-PLS 5.0 Application software. The study results show that the competence of village officials influences fraud prevention, financial reporting adherence affects fraud prevention, and meanwhile the internal control system does not affect fraud prevention. Furthermore, moral sensitivity does not moderate the competence of village officials, adherence to financial reporting and internal control systems.

This article shares the results of a quantitative analysis of the space use and physical attributes of 140 acute care units (ACU) completed since 2007. Objective: To fill a gap in the literature with respect to the state of practice for ACU design over the study period by investigating relationships among the physical characteristics and density of completed ACUs. Background: Robust industry interest about the topic—further agitated by the dearth of large-scale quantitative research regarding ACU space use—motivated completion of the study. Method: Through extraordinary collaboration by participating firms, floor plans of 140 new ACUs from the study period were gathered, systematically measured, and then analyzed. Results: Structural bay size, nurse station location, and the number of beds per unit were found to have significant relationships to ACU floor-gross area per bed. Additionally, nine significant associations among the explanatory variables were found, including moderate relationships among bay size, nurse station location, room handedness, and toilet room placement. Conclusion: The results suggest that project design teams tend to bundle key physical attributes together when planning ACUs. Moreover, density increases resulting from bay size reduction diminish as the bay size drops below 31′. Any impacts resulting from the major external events demarking the last decade were not sufficient to appreciably affect ACU density. Lastly, those concerned with increasing density and controlling ACU floor gross area are alerted to explore design options featuring bay sizes of approximately 30′ in conjunction with a centralized nursing model containing more than 32 beds per unit.

In the present study, emotional intelligence and academic listening skill levels of pre-service teachers and the correlations between these variables were determined. Furthermore, the emotional intelligence levels and academic listening competencies of pre-service teachers were also investigated based on the variables of gender, department, and the preference of the department of study. The study group included 361 freshmen pre-service teachers attending the Faculty of Education and the study was conducted with survey method, a quantitative research method. The study data were collected with the “Academic Listening Skill Competency Scale” and “Rotterdam Emotional Intelligence Scale”. In the study, the regression analysis was conducted to determine the causality between emotional intelligence scores and academic listening skill scores revealed significant findings. The study findings demonstrated that “Total Emotional Intelligence” scores of the students reflected above average emotional intelligence levels. It was determined that the academic listening skill competency scores of the pre-service teachers were above average in both scale sub-dimensions and the total scale score. The results of regression analysis showed that the causality between Total Emotional Intelligence and Total Academic Listening Skills was significant.

Purpose This study aims to examine the entrepreneurial intentions of university students at the International University of Sarajevo. For this purpose, the entrepreneurial desires and entrepreneurial orientations of the students across several demographic variables were measured. These variables included prior entrepreneurial experience, student’s gender, faculty, year of study and attitude towards more courses on entrepreneurship. Nevertheless, the research also examined how business environment influences the entrepreneurial intentions of students by considering the same set of variables. Design/methodology/approach The objectives of this paper have been achieved by using a quantitative research instrument, where the cross-sectional survey method for collecting primary data is used. In total, 173 usable responses have been collected from the beginning of April to the end of May in the academic year 2015/2016. Findings The results indicate that the greater the demotivation with the current business surrounding, the smaller the entrepreneurial intentions of the students are when the prior entrepreneurial experience, gender, year of study and attitude towards more courses on entrepreneurship are considered. The study suggests that improving the overall business surrounding and entrepreneurial education might increase the entrepreneurial intentions of the students. Originality/value This is the first paper that treats entrepreneurial intentions of University students in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Volunteer tourism is a vital formation of altruistic and sustainable tourism. This research is aimed to empirically find the relative importance of the motivation factors and the motivation realization factors for young tourists participating in the global volunteer tourism programs. The differences in the study variables across continents, gender, and frequency of participation were also scrutinized. A quantitative research approach that utilized the survey method was employed. The outcomes showed that personal development was the most vital motivator for global volunteer tourism. On the other hand, the young tourists felt that they most realized the factor of a new experience through their recent international volunteer tourism experience. The motivation factors and the motivation realization factors were consistent across the continents. Furthermore, the mean differences in the motivations, the motivations’ realization, satisfaction, and the behavioral intentions were revealed to be non-significant for the genders and the frequency of volunteer participation. By grasping the young volunteer tourists’ motivations and the experience evaluations, the volunteer programs can be advanced in consonance with their necessities and demands, which enhance the volunteer tourism experience.

This research is a quantitative research using the survey method. The locations of the research area in the three tourist objects including Goa Cemara Beach, Kuwaru Beach, and Pandansimo Baru Beach. This study aims to analyze the tourist characteristics in the three research locations and to learn how to formulate a plan for the most appropriate tourism products at three locations sights. The approach used to analyze the tourist characteristics is the four elements of market segmentation: geographic, socio-demographic, psychographic, and behavioural.The samples of the research are 156 respondents with a margin of error of 8% done using purposive sampling technique during March to April 2015 in the three research locations. The data collection was taken by questionnaires, observation, and documentation. Once the data is collected and processed with quantitative analysis using statistical tools, frequency distribution, and cross table (crosstabs).The result shows that the geographic characteristics of tourists in the three locations are balanced between tourists from outside and inside Bantul Regency. Then, the socio-demographic characteristics of tourists in Goa Cemara Beach and Pandansimo Baru Beach are dominated by private employees/BUMN(state-owned corporation), aged 22-60 years old, married and repeater tourist, while tourists in Kuwaru Beach are dominated by students, under 22 years old, single status and first comer tourists.Furthermore, in terms of psychographics, tourists in the three locations who have psychometric characteristics prefer to get something plural, popular, and like to do common activities with the frequency of short stay visits. Lastly, the behaviour of tourists in the three research locations is dominated by doing recreation or having leisure time to enjoy the main attractions of the coastal landscape. The results of tourist characteristics of these three locations are used as the basis for planning of thematic tourism products in accordance with the character of the three research objects
