Kelud Volcano is one of the active volcanoes and located in East Java. After the eruption, Kelud Volcano left a number of volcanic materials from the rock, sand and the ash on residential land, plantations and the surrounding area. The main problem is the eruption of Kelud Volcanoes has the potential to experience an increase in the frequency of eruptions and there has been no development of a regional reconstruction model for secondary impacts due to eruptions in the field of water resources infrastructure. Based on these problems, a test of the Sabo and modular hydraulic physical models will be planned. This study discusses the identification of the location and volume of sediments that have the potential to become Kali Putih lava flows from Kelud Volcanoes. The Takahashi analysis method is used to analyze the estimated excess volume of the target sediment which must be controlled by sabo technology. Identification of sediment transport zones is obtained from the classification of slope on existing buildings obtained from satellite imagery. The results of the analysis are as follows: 1.) Sediment transport areas in the Putih Watershed have an area of 863 km2. 2.) The total volume of Kali Putih sediment that has the potential to become cold lava after the eruption is 4,139,414.23 m3. 3.) Sabo and modular hydraulic physical model testing is required. 4) A model of regional reconstruction is needed for secondary impacts due to eruptions in the water resources field. 5) New sabo plan planning is needed

Abstract The current worldwide water resources issue is one of the crucial matters to overcome obstacles to sustainable development. This problem, formerly tackled in a sectored manner, is now pointing towards an analysis directed to treating the watershed as a management unit, with regards to all dimensions of knowledge and, especially, to the public participation in the decision-making processes. As an alternative to measure its performance, it has been sought out to develop indexes aimed to measure its sustainability, but there is still a lack of the use of composed efficient methodologies that also enable public participation in decision-making. This research presents a methodology comprising 15 indexes for the calculation of the Watershed Sustainability Index (WSI), followed by the application of the PROMETHEE multi-criteria analysis method and the COPELAND multi-decision-maker method. The methodology was applied to evaluate the performance of subwatersheds of the Piranhas-Açu watershed, located in the Brazilian northeast semi-arid region. The performance ordering, obtained through the application of the methods, emphasizes that subwatersheds' performances are uneven. It can be noticed that the subwatersheds' performances are still far from ideal in relation to water resources management, even in the ones that displayed satisfactory index levels.

The paper contains the results of classification of rivers and streams of the Republic of Moldova according to classic Strahler method. Mentioned method was applied to estimate the hierarchical rank of the stream segments situated in 50 pilot basins using modern GIS techniques and drainage network of the GIS for Water Resources of Moldova. It was estimated that the maximal order of segments is 7 specific for the Raut and Ialpug rivers. Overall, length of 1st order streams forms 50%, while that of 7th order streams - < 1%. Additionally, stream number and frequency as well as drainage density were calculated for pilot river basins.

Classification of El Niño and La Niña years in a historical time period is necessary to analyze their impacts on hydrology and water resources management. In this study, various El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) indices, and how they are used to classify El Niño or La Niña years have been reviewed. Based on the review, a simple method of classifying El Niño or La Niña years has been proposed.

This paper presents a show case of aesthetic robot design considering technical function constraints and using engineering performance analysis method. First a project goal was determined based on a robot aesthetic analysis. Decision matrices were used to evaluate the aesthetic satisfaction in both component and assembly levels of the design while the scores were assigned subjectively through panel discussion. 3D printing technique was used to get the physical models for rapid verification of the design and to facilitate the design evolution. Examples are given for robot component design as well as the overall evaluation of the robot aesthetics.

Public interest in cryptocurrencies has consistently risen over the past decade. Owing to this rapid growth, cryptocurrency-related information is being increasingly shared online. As considerable portions of such information in online communities are noise, extracting meaningful information is important. Therefore, judging whose opinion should be considered more important or who the opinion leaders in online communities are is critical. This study analyzed the topics that contain meaningful information, in particular, user groups, by investigating the correlation between topic weights and their price change. The proposed analysis method involves (1) effective classification of the user groups using a hypertext-induced topic selection algorithm, (2) textual information analysis through topic modeling, and (3) the identification of user groups that have a high interest in the Bitcoin price by measuring the correlation between the price and the topics and by measuring the topic similarities between each user group and all users to determine the user group that can effectively represent the entire community. By analyzing the information shared by users, we observed that most users are interested in the price information, whereas users having social influence are not only interested in the price but also in other information.

Focusing on the topic of water environment safety of China, this paper has selected the three northeast provinces of China as the research object due to their representativeness in economic development and resource security. By using the Entropy Weight Method, the Grey Correlation Analysis Method, and the Principal Component Analysis Method, this paper has first constructed a water environment safety evaluation system with 17 indicators from the economic, environmental, and ecological aspects. Furthermore, this paper has screened the initially selected indicators by the Principal Component Analysis Method and finally determined 11 indicators as the evaluation indicators. After indicator screening, this paper has adopted the improved Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation Method to evaluate the water environment safety of the three northeast provinces of China and obtained the change in water environment safety of different provinces from 2009 to 2017. The results show that the overall water environment safety of the region had improved first but worsened afterward, and that in terms of water safety level, Jilin Province ranked first, followed by Heilongjiang Province and Liaoning Province. The three factors that have the greatest impact on the water environment safety of the three provinces are: Liaoning—Chemical Oxygen Demand (score: 17.10), Per Capita Disposable Income (score: 13.50), and Secondary Industry Output (score: 11.50); Heilongjiang—Chemical Oxygen Demand (score: 18.64), Per Capita Water Resources (score: 12.75), and Concentration of Inhalable Particles (score: 10.89); Jilin—Per Capita Water Resources (score: 15.75), Chemical Oxygen Demand (score: 14.87), and Service Industry Output (score: 11.55). Based on analysis of the evaluation results, this paper has proposed corresponding policy recommendations to improve the water environment safety and promote sustainable development in the northeast provinces of China.
