Movement as an elementary characteristic of living matter, as well as an important feature of humans, can be observed from the aspect of biological and psycho-social factors, but also from physiological, biomechanical and motivational aspect. Every movement belongs to one or several specific motor skills, which represent a pivotal factor in solving tactical tasks and achieving the necessary security goals and requirements. In the process of enrollment in the Military Academy, all candidates’ health, intellectual and physical abilities are tested, whereas during their studies the cadets attend a mandatory four-year program of physical education conducted by the means of the Special physical training and sport course. The testing, conducted for enrollment in the Academy, is further used as a prerequisite for taking the exam for the course, thus allowing continuous monitoring of physical fitness. Aiming at acquiring concrete information on the physical fitness state and the differences in terms of physical fitness between the candidates enrolling in the Academy and cadets, this paper presents the results of a testing conducted with 70 candidates aspiring to join the Academy and 70 cadets of the Military Academy, who regularly attend a physical education course. In order to identify the differences between the two groups of participants, the research was based on the t-test for independent samples. Based on the obtained results, certain qualitative and quantitative differences can be established in all segments subject of this research, which derive from the conditions, as well as the organization and duration of the preparation for this tests.

Modern conditions of military-professional (combat) activity of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine require a high level of development of their physical and volitional qualities, as well as military-applied motor skills. The most effective for ensuring the development and formation of these qualities and skills of servicemen are military-applied sports. Military pentathlon is a modern military-applied sport that is popular among cadets. The article examines the impact of military pentathlon on the dynamics of cadets’ special physical fitness. The study was conducted at the Military Academy (Odessa) in 2016–2021. The study involved cadets (ages 17–24) who attended a military pentathlon sports section (experimental group (EG), n = 30). The level and dynamics of special physical training of EG cadets were checked according to the exercises that are competitive in military pentathlon, during the annual military pentathlon competitions for the championship of Military Academy. The assessment was carried out according to the following tests: shooting with an AK-74, overcoming an obstacle course of 500 m, swimming 50 m with obstacles, throwing grenades, cross-country 8 km. It was found that at the end of training at the academy EG cadets significantly improved (p≤0,001) indicators: in shooting – by 36.8 points, in overcoming the obstacle course 500 m – by 59.2 s, in swimming 50 m with obstacles – by 5.4 is, in throwing grenades – for 38.9 points, in cross-country for 8 km – for 7 min 21.3 s. This indicates the positive impact of military pentathlon on the level of special physical training of cadets and the formation of their military-applied motor skills.

The purpose of the work is to identify the influence of various components of the training load on the improvement of sportsmanship of athletes at the stages of preliminary training and initial specialization. Research methods. Students at the age of 17, who were engaged in the athletics section and performed regulatory tests at the level of the third sports category, were divided into 2 groups: experimental and control (10 people each). The students of the experimental group were trained in the author's 6-component training load program. The students of the control group were engaged in a program developed at the Research Institute of Physical Education and Sport. Investigated indicators of physical development (height, body weight, functional reserves of the cardio-respiratory system) and physical fitness (endurance, speed and power indicators) every 6 months for 5 years. Results. The developed program, which is implemented at the stages of preliminary training and initial specialization of athletes, provides for the development of specially oriented physical abilities and allows you to increase the level of sportsmanship. This is indicated by the dynamics of the obtained positive results of testing basic anthropometric data and indicators of physical training of students-athletes. It is also necessary to take into account the direction of development of physical abilities, based on the development of the main indicators of the cardio-respiratory system and the leading role of the mechanisms influencing the regulation of the level of general endurance, movement speed and strength characteristics in the whole organism. The program provides for a systematic, but gradual complication of physical activity, determines the appropriate conditions for the implementation of the basic principle of physical education in higher educational institutions and developmental training for students-athletes of various qualifications. Conclusion. The results of 5-year testing of students-athletes after the introduction of the author's program in the training process, indicate pronounced positive changes in physical development and physical fitness, expressed in increasing the level of their sportsmanship and achievement of sports results corresponding to the first sports category.

Abstract The programme of training in the field of military physical education is directed towards developing an efficient motor capacity by ensuring superior development gauges for basic motor skills and for the motor skills and aptitudes specific to the military system, as well as towards developing the body resilience to stress, enhancing productivity and the mental alarm state of mind, elements playing an important role in improving the combat capacity. In the economy of the formative process, the basic motor and utility-applicable skills represent the essence of an advanced level of training in the field of physical education, so that their development, strenghening and improvement will always be a constant priority objective of training.

Background/Aim. The main role of physical education is health and educational practices of cadets and all-round personality development. Instruction executing is successful only when the set requirements are realized. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of physical education in order to rise physical capabilities of the Military Academy cadets during a 4-year education. Methods. The study was conducted in the Military Academy, Belgrade. A total of 120 cadets who at the beginning of the study were 19 years ? 6 months and at the end 23 years ? 6 months were included in this study. The study used the following tests for verification and assessment of physical fitness: pull-ups, lifting the trunk from the ground, standing long jump seats, running at 1,600 m and overcoming the infantry obstacles. The data were analyzed using statistical programs to calculate the central and dispersion parameters. The difference in the achieved results in the individual variables were evaluated by the univariate analysis of variance (ANOVA), while the differences in the system variables by region were identified by the multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) and discriminant analysis. The group membership was determined using profile analysis. Results. There were statistically significant differences in all the tests to evaluate the effectiveness of physical education during a 4-year study, except in the standing long jump test. The best average results in motor capabilities tests, were achieved after two years of study, while in the endurance tests showed the best results achieved at the end of a 4-years studying. Conclusion. The results of overcoming specific tests for the physical abilities of the Military Academy cadets show that the physical education curriculum only slightly improves the development of physical skills of cadets during a 4-year study. The existing program shows the best results in the pull-ups test of the ground troops, and the worst in the multiple motor control tests (endurance, strength and speed).

Abstract Due to the complex, unique, multiple demands they exert on the human body through the skills, competences and abilities, they develop as well as by contributing to the development of motor skills, fighting sports represent an effective way of preparing the military to respond to the rigors imposed by the modern war. The strikes with arms and with auxiliary equipment (light weapons, bayonets, raffles, daggers or small shovels) are part of the basic techniques used in close fight, which, if well-mastered, developed and perfected, contribute to the success of the battle.

One of the most important tasks solved in physical education classes is preparing for life. An indispensable means of teaching vital motor skills and abilities are applied exercises that are taken from life and prepare for life. Such vital movements as climbing, climbing, running, jumping, overcoming obstacles, throwing, swimming and many other exercises also contribute to the development of the motor abilities of those involved. The aim of the research was to experimentally study the effect of cross-country classes on the physical fitness of high school students. Based on the conducted research it can be formulated that the use of cross-country training in the process of physical education of high school students contributes to the development of coordination, speed-strength abilities, as well as endurance.
