SummaryThree types of plasminogen activator could be distinguished in extracts from human uterine tissue. The activators differed in thermostability or in mode of inhibition by EACA.All the extracts contained stable as well as labile activators. The saline extracts were uniformly inhibited by increasing concentrations of EACA. Extracts made with 2 M ammonium thiocyanate were either uniformly inhibited by EACA or showed deflections indicating contamination with an activator, which was inhibited in a biphasic manner. It was possible to distinguish between: (1) An activator, abundantly present in the tissue, which was uniformly inhibited and stable. (2) Another uniformly inhibited activator, which was labile. (3) An activator, inhibited in a biphasic manner, similar to urokinase, which was present in varying amounts in uteri with the endometrium in the proliferative phase.Gel filtration of the uterine extracts showed two major activity peaks corresponding to particle sizes of 60,000 dalton and about 10,000 dalton.Antiserum to purified plasminogen activator, prepared from porcine ovaries, inhibited the activity of the human uterine extracts, but not the activities of human urokinase or urine. Urokinase antiserum in a concentration completely inhibiting human urine or urokinase, inhibited only 10% or less of the activities of human uterine extracts.

In this work, a pair of biopolymer materials has been used to prepare high ion-conducting electrolytes for energy storage application (ESA). The chitosan:methylcellulose (CS:MC) blend was selected as a host for the ammonium thiocyanate NH4SCN dopant salt. Three different concentrations of glycerol was successfully incorporated as a plasticizer into the CS–MC–NH4SCN electrolyte system. The structural, electrical, and ion transport properties were investigated. The highest conductivity of 2.29 × 10−4 S cm−1 is recorded for the electrolyte incorporated 42 wt.% of plasticizer. The complexation and interaction of polymer electrolyte components are studied using the FTIR spectra. The deconvolution (DVN) of FTIR peaks as a sensitive method was used to calculate ion transport parameters. The percentage of free ions is found to influence the transport parameters of number density (n), ionic mobility (µ), and diffusion coefficient (D). All electrolytes in this work obey the non-Debye behavior. The highest conductivity electrolyte exhibits the dominancy of ions, where the ionic transference number, tion value of (0.976) is near to infinity with a voltage of breakdown of 2.11 V. The fabricated electrochemical double-layer capacitor (EDLC) achieves the highest specific capacitance, Cs of 98.08 F/g at 10 mV/s by using the cyclic voltammetry (CV) technique.

Reaction of ammonium thiocyanate with dihalocarbonyls of molybdenum and tungsten(11) leads to the elimination of ammonium chloride and the formation of a dithiocyanatocarbonyl complex of the transition metal. Although the thiocyanatocarbonyls themselves have not been isolated in a pure state, a number of substituted derivatives with phosphorus donor ligands have been prepared and characterized. In general these complexes are less stable than the corresponding carbonyl halide derivatives.

The title compound, C6H15N2 +·NCS−, was obtained unexpectedly from the reaction mixture of benzoyl chloride, ammonium thiocyanate and cyclohexane-1,2-diamine. The cyclohexane ring adopts a chair conformation. In the crystal, N—H...S and N—H...N interactions involving the thiocyanate anion and both the amine and the aminium N atoms link the molecules, forming two-dimensional networks parallel to (001).

The static 13C nmr powder pattern for solid ammonium thiocyanate is analyzed to obtain the 13C chemical shielding anisotropy, 321 ± 7 ppm, and the 13C–14N dipolar splitting, 1295 ± 25 Hz. Slow magic angle spinning 15N nmr experiments are analyzed to obtain a nitrogen chemical shielding anisotropy of 415 ± 15 ppm. The 13C–14N dipolar splitting leads to an effective C—N bond length of 1.19 ± 0.01 Å, in good agreement with the value of 1.176 Å reported from accurate X-ray and neutron crystallographic studies. In solid NH4NCS absolute values of the average shielding constants [Formula: see text] and ct[Formula: see text] are 52 and 34 ppm, respectively. Comparison of calculated and observed [Formula: see text] values indicates that intermolecular interactions decrease the 13C and 15N shielding constants by approximately 10 and 30 ppm, respectively.

AbstractA highly efficient method for the synthesis of 1,2,3-thiadiazoles has been developed by utilizing readily available tosylhydrazones and ammonium thiocyanate with ecofriendly EtOH as the solvent at room temperature. The reaction shows a wide scope of substrates and good functional-group tolerance. This protocol can be scaled up to a gram level and can be applied to coupling reactions with 4-(4-bromophenyl)-1,2,3-thiadiazole as the substrate.
