The cut-throat situation of competitiveness in almost every business sector, followed by globalization, shortened product life cycles, and rapid technological changes have raised the importance of innovation to overrun the rivals. Scholars have established that appropriate leadership style is a key enabler for organizational success. However, it is not clear in existing literature how the concept of authentic leadership is related to innovative work behavior (IWB). Likewise, the role of corporate social responsibility (CSR) to induce IWB is also vague in current literature. Thus, the basic purpose of the current study was to test the relationship of CSR and IWB with the mediating effect of authentic leadership. The proposed model was tested in the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) sector of China. The data were collected through a questionnaire that was distributed among different respondents of the current survey. The data were obtained from a dyad of supervisor and subordinate serving in different SMEs in Wuhan city of China. The study used the structural equation modeling (SEM) technique to validate different hypotheses. The empirical results confirm that CSR positively relates to IWB while authentic leadership partially mediates this relationship. The findings of the current survey will be helpful for policymakers to recognize employees as a source of innovation through CSR and authentic leadership.

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has emerged as an imperative for every sector globally. Yet, for a long time, the concept of CSR has been regarded from an organizational perspective. However, the importance of CSR in shaping the extra-role behavior of employees, such as their pro-environmental behavior (PEB-E), has been under-explored in the literature. Against this backdrop, the current study aims to investigate the impact of CSR on PEB-E with the mediating effect of work engagement (W.E) in the context of a emerging country. The study also employs stewardship theory as an alternate theory to explain the proposed relationships. The data of the current study were obtained from SME sector through a self-administered (paper-and-pencil method) questionnaire. A random sample of employees (n = 398) from different SMEs was selected and analyzed through structural equation modeling. The results of the current survey revealed that CSR directly and indirectly, via W.E, predicts PEB-E positively. The findings of the current study will be helpful for policymakers to understand that well-planned CSR activities, not only create positive repute for an SME, but also provide the underlying justification to its employees to be engaged in different environment-specific behaviors.

Organizational crisis can serve as a base to provide an opportunity to an organization for enhancing individuals, organizations, and communities. The healthcare sector is one of those sectors that remains under continuous pressure to provide high-quality service delivery to the patients. Hence, the requirement of innovation for this sector is huge when compared to other sectors. The majority of the previous studies have investigated the phenomenon of CSR at the employee’s level (CSR-E) to influence employee behavior positively. However, the importance of CSR-E to enhance the innovative capability of the employees at the workplace is not well-explored in extant literature. Moreover, it is not clear from previous studies how the concept of servant leadership can explain the employee’s engagement towards innovative work behavior (EIB). Thus, the current survey aims to test the relationship of CSR-E and EIB in the healthcare sector of Pakistan with the mediating effect of servant leadership. The data of the current study were obtained through a self-administered (paper-pencil) survey and they were analyzed through the structural equation modeling (SEM) technique. The empirical results of SEM analysis revealed that CSR-E and EIB are positively related and servant leadership partially mediates this relationship. The findings of the current study will be helpful for policymakers to improve their understanding towards CSR-E to induce EIB in the time of crisis. At the same time, the current study also highlights the importance of servant leadership to the policymakers in encouraging the employees to display their innovative capability at the workplace to serve their organization during the time of crisis.

The homogenization of the banking segment has made it difficult for banking institutions to practice the quality of services that are needed in order to retain consumers. Thus, these days, finding ways to increase consumer loyalty—especially green loyalty—has become a challenge for the banking industry around the planet. Research has long acknowledged that corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a strategic concern that could help organizations to increase consumer loyalty. However, the impact of CSR practices on green consumer loyalty is rarely addressed in the extant literature. Hence, the present research investigated the impact of CSR on green consumer loyalty with the mediating effect of co-creation in the banking industry of Pakistan. The study also introduced green banking initiatives as a moderator between the mediated relation of CSR and green consumer loyalty, with the intention that such a moderator would strengthen this indirect relationship. The structural equation modeling technique was used for the data analysis. The results confirm that CSR enhances consumer loyalty, and that co-creation partially mediates this relationship. Furthermore, green banking initiatives further strengthen this relation. The results of the current survey could help banking institutions learn how they can develop core strategic considerations based on the integration of CSR co-creation and green banking initiatives.

The stiff situation of competitiveness in every industry has posed some serious challenges for businesses all over the world. Thus, every segment of the business is realizing the importance of creativity to remain alive in a cut-throat competitive environment. However, the banking sector has not received due attention in this regard. To bridge this gap, the current study was carried out to explore the relationship of employees’ perception of corporate social responsibility (CSR) of their bank and employee creativity with the mediating effect of inclusive leadership (IL). The data for the current study were collected from the banking sector of Pakistan through a self-administered questionnaire (n = 533) and were analyzed by using structural equation modeling (SEM) in AMOS. The statistical findings of the current survey validate the direct relationship between CSR and employee creativity. The results also confirm the mediating effect of IL in this relationship. The findings of the current survey will help policymakers from banking institutions to improve their understanding of CSR. Furthermore, these findings will help policymakers to embrace employee creativity as a “new normal” for this sector.

Based on social exchange theory, this research introduced a model to understand factors that contribute towards inclusive leadership (IL) and its effect on innovative work behavior (IWB) with employee engagement (EE) as a mediator. Although the connection between IL and IWB is previously established. However, few studies have tested the potential mediation effect of EE particularly in the IT sector. Therefore, this investigation provides new insights as to how IL stimulates the innovation through the meditating impact of EE. Data collected through questionnaire were then analyzed through structural equation modeling. 116 participants have provided the data for this study. We found a positive association of IL with IWB, while the mediating effect of EE was also empirically established. This study is novel because it explained how IL can persuade their subordinates to exhibit positive behavioral outcome (i.e. IWB). Furthermore, the current study also might help the policymakers to devise effective leadership training programs so that their managers may adopt IL style and make the employees more engaged and innovative.

PurposeThis study aims to peruse the underlying effect of servant leadership (SL) on innovative work behavior (IWB) and employee knowledge sharing behavior (KSB), directly and through the mediating effect of job autonomy (JA), by using autonomous psychological needs of self-determination theory and embracing Hofstede's framework in information and telecommunication technology (ICT) companies in Latvia.Design/methodology/approachA quantitative analysis of data from 271 employees and managers in Latvian ICT companies was used by applying structural equation modeling.FindingsThe result discloses that SL can promote IWB and KSB directly and through mediating effects of JA.Research limitations/implicationsThe research is constricted by geography and sample data representation from a specific sector. Hence, future studies can determine the gender effects, carry out more preventive measures to avoid common method bias between constructs, measure antecedents and the mediator before outcomes and examine JA as a moderator.Practical implicationsThe findings demonstrate that the Latvian ICT sector should recruit managers with SL potentials, train and equip managers with the required resources to implement SL practices properly and integrate JA across the organization to increase the manifestation of IWB and KSB.Originality/valueThis paper is the first to examine JA as the underlying process through which SL’s effects on IWB and KSB are explained in an individualistic country.

PurposeThe purpose of the study is to ascertain the role of servant leadership in causing innovative work behavior. The study also examines the mediating role of job crafting and sequential mediating role of trust and job crafting between servant leadership and innovative work behavior.Design/methodology/approachThe data were collected from 258 knowledge workers employed in software houses in Pakistan through survey design. The data analysis was done through structural equation modeling.FindingsThe results of the analysis of 258 respondents show that servant leadership is related with trust, job crafting and innovative work behavior. The mediation analysis revealed that job crafting mediates the relation between servant leadership and innovative work behavior. Finally, the relation between servant leadership and innovative work behavior was found to be sequentially mediated by trust and job crafting.Originality/valueThe current study contributes to delineating the linking mechanism between servant leadership and innovative work behavior. The main contributions of the study are exploring the mediating role of job crafting along with the sequential mediating role of trust and job crafting.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the mediating effect of practicing core values on the relationship between authentic leadership and work engagement in a Korean corporate environment. Design/methodology/approach Self-report data on authentic leadership, practicing core values, and work engagement were obtained from 281 employees of three major corporations in South Korea. Structural equation modeling was adopted to analyze the data. Findings The results revealed a direct and significant influence of authentic leadership on both practicing core values and work engagement. In addition, practicing core values was found to have a partial mediating effect on the relationship between authentic leadership and work engagement. Research limitations/implications This study revealed a three-factor model of authentic leadership compared to the four-factor model found in western cultural contexts. Similar findings are indicated for other Asian countries. A rigorous future study is warranted to validate the psychometric structure across different cultural settings. Harman’s single factor test was performed to address the common method variance issue. Practical implications Practicing core values functioned as a catalyst for developing authentic leaders. Therefore, it is necessary that organizational development practitioners perform developmental activities to purposefully facilitate practicing core values. Originality/value The study falls under the isolated or disregarded researched topic of the practicing core values in relation to authentic leadership and work engagement.

Introduction/Main Objectives: This study aims to determine the existence of innovative work behavior ecosystems for Indonesia’s government employees Background problems: The quality of individual employees partially determines the quality of the organization. The abilities of the different employees who work in the same system will undoubtedly deliver the government employee and possibly produce results which are less than were expected. Novelty: The previous studies have examined innovative work behavior, focusing on the external factors and ignoring the internal factors of individual traits. This study focused on investigating the interrelationship among the factors that will be affected by innovative behavior, especially in government employees in Indonesia. Methods: This study examines the relationship among these variables using structural equation modeling (SEM) with LISREL 8.8 as the statistical tool. Finding/Result: This study found that transforma­tional leadership and work engagement positively influence innovative work behavior. Unexpectedly, this research indicates an insignificant relationship between organizational justice and innovative work behavior among government employees. Besides, this study also found that transformational leadership and organizational justice have an impact on work engagement. Conclusion: These findings provide managerial implications about the need to strengthen employees’ innovative work behavior to ensure the organization’s continuity. Additionally, the results prove that innovative work behavior by government employees is supported by government’s role such as the style of leadership and work engagement.

Job performance of employees from the millennial generation is starting to be studied a lot because the proportion is starting to increase. Leadership style and job satisfaction are factors that are suspected to affect job performance. This study aims to examine the effect of ethical leadership, authentic leadership on job performance mediated by job satisfaction. This study was a cross-sectional design involving 350 millennial generation employees at the Tanjung Priok Customs and Excise Main Service Office, which were selected by purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with AMOS 26 software. The results of this study indicate that ethical leadership has a positive effect on job satisfaction and negative effect on job performance, but not significant. Meanwhile, authentic leadership has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, but not significantly on job performance. In addition, this study also finds that job satisfaction has a positive and significant effect on job performance and acts as a mediator in the influence of authentic leadership and ethical leadership on job performance. These results build and enrich models of the influence of ethical leadership, authentic leadership, job satisfaction on job performance in existing. In addition, this study recommends that superiors have a personality that is liked by their subordinates, so that it has an impact Keywords: ethical leadership, authentic leadership, job satisfaction, job performance, millennial generation employees. Job performance pegawai dari generasi milenial menjadi hal yang mulai banyak diteliti karena proporsinya mulai meningkat. Gaya kepemimpinan dan kepuasan kerja merupakan faktor yang ditengarai memengaruhi job performance. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji pengaruh ethical leadership, authentic leadership terhadap job performance yang dimediasi job satisfaction. Penelitian ini berdesain crosssectional yang melibatkan 350 pegawai generasi milenial Kantor Pelayanan Utama Tipe A Bea dan Cukai Tanjung Priok yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Data dianalisis menggunakan Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) dengan perangkat lunak AMOS 26. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ethical leadership berpengaruh positif terhadap job satisfaction dan negatif terhadap job performance, tetapi tidak signifikan. Sementara itu, authentic leadership berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap job satisfaction, tetapi tidak signifikan terhadap job performance Selain itu, penelitian ini juga mendapatkan bahwa job satisfaction berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap job performance dan berperan sebagai mediator dalam pengaruh authentic leadership  dan ethical leadership terhadap job performance. Hasil ini membangun dan memperkaya model pengaruh ethical leadership, authentic leadership, job satisfaction terhadap job performance yang sudah ada. Selain itu, penelitian ini merekomendasikan  agar atasan memiliki kepribadian yang disenangi bawahan, sehingga berdampak pada job satisfaction dan job performance bawahan. Kata Kunci: ethical leadership, authentic leadership, job satisfaction, job performance, pegawai generasi milenial.
