Presented in this paper is a Multistage Design Procedure (MSDP) for planning and implementing Public Charging Infrastructures (PCIs) to satisfy intracity charging demand of Electric Vehicles (EVs). The proposed MSDP splits planning and design processes into multiple stages, from macroscale to fine-scale levels. Consequently, the preliminary results achieved at each stage can be refined at the subsequent stages, leading to determine the accurate number and precise geographical location of each charging point. The main advantage of the proposed approach is that it splits a very complicated procedure into multiple and simpler stages, at each of which appropriate goals, targets and constraints can be included. As a result, the iterative interactions among all the stakeholders involved in the PCI design process are significantly simplified. The proposed MSDP has been employed in the planning and design of the PCI of the Italian island of Sardinia, accordingly to all the public bodies.

This activity aims to growth awareness and public concern over the use of household waste. One effective way is tomake the process of recycling of waste in order to be a new product that has economic value. Sayang village, Jatinangor inSumedang district became one of priority area for the organization of this event. Its geographical location which is relativelyclose to the area of education is one reason for choosing this village. The activities in the form of Program Pengabdian kepadaMasyarakat Dosen (PPMD) is carried out by means of lectures, demonstrations and practices / trainings. The high productionof household waste and negative behaviour regarding garbage is actually an issue that is closely related to cultural behaviour.Therefore, the solution is actually should be also related with the issue of people’s mindset about the garbage. Recycling wastebins in order to produce a product that has economic value to be an alternative way to change people's mindsets about thegarbage that have tended to be negative. This activity is considered successful because of the participation of the public,especially mothers of households is quite high and active in a series of events

The increasing penetration rate of electric vehicles, associated with a growing charging demand, could induce a negative impact on the electric grid, such as higher peak power demand. To support the electric grid, and to anticipate those peaks, a growing interest exists for forecasting the day-ahead charging demand of electric vehicles. This paper proposes the enhancement of a state-of-the-art deep neural network to forecast the day-ahead charging demand of electric vehicles with a time resolution of 15 min. In particular, new features have been added on the neural network in order to improve the forecasting. The forecaster is applied on an important use case of a local charging site of a hospital. The results show that the mean-absolute error (MAE) and root-mean-square error (RMSE) are respectively reduced by 28.8% and 19.22% thanks to the use of calendar and weather features. The main achievement of this research is the possibility to forecast a high stochastic aggregated EV charging demand on a day-ahead horizon with a MAE lower than 1 kW.

Situbondo Regional Police are law enforcers who work in the East Java Situbondo district. Of course, in carrying out all its duties, it requires communication and information exchange between officers and civilians to carry out police duties properly and effectively. In reality on the ground, not all Situbondo people, especially those outside Situbondo, know the geographical location of the police station in each sub-district in Situbondo district. The only way to find the Situbondo Police Station is to ask and ask someone who has visited or learned about the office. However, using this procedure requires more time and is a bit of a hassle for other people, this is due to the absence of a map pointer to deliver or give an overview of the location of the Police station. From the above problems, namely the absence of loyal Police station appointees at all times to help, it is necessary to design a Situbondo Police Station Geographical Information System that is the answer to the problems discussed above. The establishment of this system is expected to be able to assist the Police in informing the geographical location of the Police station along with important information and also assisting the public in finding the Police station quickly and effectively.

<p>This paper investigates the price effect to the charging demand coming from electric vehicles and then evaluates the performance of a pre-reservation mechanism using the real-life demand patterns. On the charging network in Jeju city, the occupancy rates for 3 price groups, namely, free, medium-price, and expensive chargers, are separated almost evenly by about 9.0 %, while a set of chargers dominates the charging demand during hot hours. The virtual pre-reservation scheme matches electric vehicles to a time slot of a charger so as not only to avoid intolerable waiting time in charging stations systematically but also to increase the revenue of service providers, taking into account both bidding levels specified by electric vehicles and preference criteria defined by chargers. The performance analysis results obtained by prototype implementation show that the proposed pre-reservation mechanism improves the revenue of service providers by up to 9.5 % and 42.9 %, compared with the legacy FCFS and reservation-less walk-in schemes for the given performance parameter sets.</p>

The paper investigates whether it makes economic sense to use electric vehicles (EVs) in the public sector fleet. Thanks to the data collected in 2018 in 77 public sector entities in an Italian region, Friuli Venezia Giulia, we compare the total cost of ownership of a battery electric vehicle with that of a similar internal combustion engine one. We provide estimates for four scenarios (status quo, social cost internalization, price discounts and a combination of the last two) for three groups of public entities (local health authorities, municipalities and special purpose authorities) regarding passenger cars and mixed-use small light commercial vehicles. We find that, with the current price and cost structure, it makes economic sense to adopt EVs for a positive although relatively small percentage of the public sector fleet.

Various hazards and endemic threats are increasingly looming over cities, leading planners to rely on a rich toolbox of flexible and inclusive planning instruments and methods, capable of dealing with unpredicted events or sudden urban contingencies, when seeking sustainable urban futures. While sustainability-oriented innovative planning approaches are gaining momentum, ways to embed connected concepts in operational planning and design decision support systems have yet to be fully developed and validated. This paper tackles this issue by proposing and testing, in a real-life scenario, a method for the computational analysis of street network resilience, based on Space Syntax theory. The method is suitable to quantify the capacity of urban grids to absorb sudden disturbances and adapt to change, and to offer support for mitigation decisions and their communication to the public. It presents a set of configurational resilience indices, whose reliability is qualitatively assessed considering the ex-ante and ex-post urban configurations generated by two exceptional and dramatic bridge crashes. These events occurred almost simultaneously in two Italian cities with peculiarly similar characteristics. The results confirm the value of the proposal and highlight urban form, and particularly its grid, as a key driver in building urban resilience, together with the self-organisation capacity of local communities.

Establishing electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) to keep up with the increasing number of electric vehicles (EVs) is the most realistic and direct means of promoting their spread. Using traffic data collected in one area; we estimated the EV charging demand and selected priority fast chargers; ranging from high to low charging demand. A queueing model was used to calculate the number of fast chargers required in the study area. Comparison of the existing distribution of fast chargers with that suggested by the traffic load eliminating method demonstrated the validity of our traffic-based location approach.

This study focuses on determining the impacts and potential value of unmanaged and managed uni-directional and bi-directional charging of plug-in electric vehicles (PEVs) to integrate intermittent renewable resources in California in the year 2030. The research methodology incorporates the utilization of multiple simulation tools including V2G-SIM, SWITCH, and GridSim. SWITCH is used to predict a cost-effective generation portfolio to meet the renewable electricity goals of 60% in California by 2030. PEV charging demand is predicted by incorporating mobility behavior studies and assumptions charging infrastructure and vehicle technology improvements. Finally, the production cost model GridSim is used to quantify the impacts of managed and unmanaged vehicle-charging demand to electricity grid operations. The temporal optimization of charging sessions shows that PEVs can mitigate renewable oversupply and ramping needs substantially. The results show that 3.3 million PEVs can mitigate over-generation by ~4 terawatt hours in California—potentially saving the state up to about USD 20 billion of capital investment costs in stationary storage technologies.
