Since it is difficult for the traditional fault diagnosis method based on dissolved gas analysis (DGA) to meet today’s engineering needs in terms of diagnostic accuracy and stability, this paper proposes an artificial intelligence fault diagnosis method based on a probabilistic neural network (PNN) and bio-inspired optimizer. The PNN is used as the basic classifier of the fault diagnosis model, and the bio-inspired optimizer, improved salp swarm algorithm (ISSA), is used to optimize the hidden layer smoothing factor of PNN, which stably improves the classification performance of PNN. Compared with the traditional SSA, the sine cosine algorithm (SCA) and disruption operator are introduced in ISSA, which effectively improves the exploration capability and convergence speed. To verify the engineering applicability of the proposed method, the ISSA-PNN model was developed and tested using sensor data provided by Jiangxi Province Power Supply Company. In addition, the method is compared with machine learning methods such as support vector machine (SVM), back propagation neural network (BPNN), multi-layer perceptron (MLP), and traditional fault diagnosis methods such as the international electrotechnical commission (IEC) ratio method. The results show that the proposed method has a strong learning ability for complex fault data and has advantages in accuracy and robustness compared to other methods.

Due to the poor working conditions of an engine, its control system is prone to failure. If these faults cannot be treated in time, it will cause great loss of life and property. In order to improve the safety and reliability of an aero-engine, fault diagnosis, and optimization method of engine control system based on probabilistic neural network (PNN) and support vector machine (SVM) is proposed. Firstly, using the German 3 W piston engine as a control object, the fault diagnosis scheme is designed and introduced briefly. Then, the fault injection is performed to produce faults, and the data sample for engine fault diagnosis is established. Finally, the important parameters of PNN and SVM are optimized by particle swarm optimization (PSO), and the results are analyzed and compared. It shows that the engine fault diagnosis method based on PNN and SVM can effectively diagnose the common faults. Under the optimization of PSO, the accuracy of PNN and SVM results are significantly improved, the classification accuracy of PNN is up to 96.4%, and the accuracy of SVM is up to 98.8%, which improves the application of them in fault diagnosis technology of aero-piston engine control system.

This paper is to present a fault diagnosis method for electrical control system of automobile based on support vector machine. We collect the common fault states of electrical control system of automobile to analyze the fault diagnosis ability of electrical control system of automobile based on support vector machine. It can be seen that the accuracy of fault diagnosis for electrical control system of automobile by support vector machine is 92.31%; and the accuracy of fault diagnosis for electrical control system of automobile by BP neural network is 80.77%. The experimental results show that the accuracy of fault diagnosis for electrical control system of automobile of support vector machine is higher than that of BP neural network.

Deep learning based intelligent fault diagnosis methods have become a research hotspot in the fields of fault diagnosis and the health management of rolling bearings in recent years. To effectively identify incipient faults in rotating machinery, this paper proposes a novel hybrid intelligent fault diagnosis framework based on a convolutional neural network and support vector machine (SVM). First, an improved one-dimensional convolutional neural network (1DCNN) was adopted to extract fault features, and the state information and intrinsic properties of the raw vibration signals were mined. Second, the extracted features were used to train the SVM, which was applied to classify the fault category. The proposed hybrid framework combined the excellent classification performance of the SVM for small samples and the strong feature-learning ability of CNN network. In order to tune the parameters of the SVM, an improved novel particle swarm optimization algorithm (INPSO) which combined the Tent map and Lévy flight strategy was proposed. Numerical experimental results indicated that the proposed PSO variant had a better performance in searching accuracy and convergence speed. At last, multiple groups of rolling bearing fault diagnosis experiments were carried out and experimental results showed that, with the proposed 1DCNN-INPSO-SVM model, the hybrid framework was capable of diagnosing with high precision for rolling bearings and superior to some traditional fault diagnosis methods.

In order to improve the accuracy of gas-path fault detection and isolation for a marine three-shaft gas turbine, a gas-path fault diagnosis method based on exergy loss and a probabilistic neural network (PNN) is proposed. On the basis of the second law of thermodynamics, the exergy flow among the subsystems and the external environment is analyzed, and the exergy model of a marine gas turbine is established. The exergy loss of a marine gas turbine under the healthy condition and typical gas-path faulty condition is analyzed, and the relative change of exergy loss is used as the input of the PNN to detect the gas-path malfunction and locate the faulty component. The simulation case study was conducted based on a three-shaft marine gas turbine with typical gas-path faults. Several results show that the proposed diagnosis method can accurately detect the fault and locate the malfunction component.

Proposed a mixed circuit fault diagnosis method based on support vector machines for the lower rate of mixed circuit fault diagnosis and diagnosis slower. The basic idea is the use of wavelet decomposition to extract the dynamic current of the mixed circuit, and re-integration of the SVM fault diagnosis. By PSPICE software and MATLAB software simulation analysis of the mixed circuit, simulation results show that this method can improve the convergence speed of the BP neural network, and can make the BP neural network is not easy to fall into local minimum value, so that the network has a better pattern recognition capability. This laid the foundation for the completion of a more rapid and accurate mixed circuit fault diagnosis.

Fault diagnosis of machinery is in essence a kind of classification problem. Utilizing the desirable classification ability of support vector machine (SVM) for fewer samples, a novel fault diagnosis method based on improved SVM was proposed. Some statistical features were extracted to reflect the equipment operational conditions and were input into fault classifier to attain the final diagnostic result. Experimental signals of gearbox were analyzed using the present method. The results of improved SVM were compared with those of artificial neural network (ANN). It indicates that the proposed method have better classification ability than that of ANN.
