As a vital component widely used in the industrial production field, rolling bearings work under complicated working conditions and are prone to failure, which will affect the normal operation of the whole mechanical system. Therefore, it is essential to conduct a health assessment of the rolling bearing. In recent years, Multipoint Optimal Minimum Entropy Deconvolution Adjusted (MOMEDA) is applied to the fault feature extraction for rolling bearings. However, the algorithm still has the following problems: (1) The selection of fault period T depends on prior knowledge. (2) The accuracy of signal denoising is affected by filter length L. To solve the limitations, an improved MOMEDA (IMOMEDA) method is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the envelope harmonic-to-noise ratio (EHNR) spectrum is adopted to estimate the fault period of MOMEDA. Then, the improved grid search method with EHNR spectral entropy as the objective function is constructed to calculate the optimal filter length used in the MOMEDA. Finally, a feature extraction method based on the improved MOMEDA (IMOMEDA) and Teager-Kaiser energy operator (TKEO) is applied in the field of rolling bearing fault diagnosis. The effectiveness and generalization performance of the proposed method is verified through comparison experiment with three data sets.

For the situation that it is difficult to diagnose rolling bearings fault effectively for small samples, so it proposes a feature extraction method of rolling bearing based on local mean decomposition (LMD) energy feature. Due to the frequency domain distribution of vibration signals will change when different faults occur in rolling bearings, so it can use LMD energy feature method to extract the fault features of rolling bearings. The instances analysis and extracted results show that the LMD energy feature can extract the vibration signal fault feature of rolling bearings effectively.

Since the working process of rolling bearings is a complex and nonstationary dynamic process, the common time and frequency characteristics of vibration signals are submerged in the noise. Thus, it is the key of fault diagnosis to extract the fault feature from vibration signal. Therefore, a fault feature extraction method for the rolling bearing based on the local mean decomposition (LMD) and envelope demodulation is proposed. Firstly, decompose the original vibration signal by LMD to get a series of production functions (PFs). Then dispose the envelope demodulation analysis on PF component. Finally, perform Fourier Transform on the demodulation signals and judge failure condition according to the dominant frequency of the spectrum. The results show that the proposed method can correctly extract the fault characteristics to diagnose faults.

In order to extract fault features of rolling bearings to characterize their operation state effectively, an improved method, based on modified variational mode decomposition (MVMD) and multipoint optimal minimum entropy deconvolution adjusted (MOMEDA), is proposed. Firstly, the MVMD method is introduced to decompose the vibration signal into intrinsic mode functions (IMFs), and then calculate the energy ratio of each IMF component. The IMF component is selected as the effective component from high energy ratio to low in turn until the total energy proportion Esum(t) ≥ 90%. The IMF effective components are reconstructed to obtain the subsequent analysis signal x_new(t). Secondly, the MOMEDA method is introduced to analyze x_new(t), extract the fault period impulse component x_cov(t), which is submerged by noise, and demodulate the signal x_cov(t) by Teager energy operator demodulation (TEO) to calculate Teager energy spectrum. Thirdly, matching the dominant frequency in the spectrum with the fault characteristic frequency of rolling bearings, the fault feature extraction of rolling bearings are completed. Finally, the experiments have compared MVMD-MOEDA-TEO with MVMD-TEO and MOMEDA-TEO based on two different data sets to verify the superiority of the proposed method. The experimental results show that MVMD-MOMEDA-TEO method has better performance than the other two methods, and provides a new solution for condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of rolling bearings.

There are mainly two problems with the current feature extraction methods used in the electrostatic monitoring of rolling bearings, which affect their abilities to identify early faults: (1) since noises are mixed in the electrostatic signals, it is difficult to extract weak early fault features; (2) traditional time and frequency domain features have limited ability to provide a quantitative indicator of degradation state. With regard to these two problems, a new feature extraction method for rolling bearing fault diagnosis by electrostatic monitoring sensors is proposed in this paper. First, the spectrum interpolation is adopted to suppress the power-frequency interference in the electrostatic signal. Then the resultant signal is used to construct Hankel matrix, the number of useful components is automatically selected based on the difference spectrum of singular values, after that the signal is reconstructed to remove background noises and random pulses. Finally, the permutation entropy of the denoised signal is calculated and smoothed using the exponential weighted moving average method, which is used to be a quantitative indicator of bearing performance state. The simulation and experimental results show that the proposed method can effectively remove noises and significantly bring forward the time when early faults are detected.

The frame is composed of four parts, the failure of the bearing is particularly important, and its safe operation has a vital impact on the entire equipment, Feature extraction is the key link in the subsequent identification of fault types, Although feature extraction in the time domain and frequency domain is effective, it is also necessary to find new feature extraction methods in new areas. On the basis of the snowflake image obtained by using the principle of SDP(Symmetrized Dot Pattern), a method for extracting fault features of rolling bearings based on image processing is proposed, and the snowflake standard map for different working conditions is constructed. The number of snowflake images under different working conditions is different. The binary matrix of the test image is compared with it, and then classified and identified. Finally, the algorithm is validated, and the ideal result is obtained to verify its rationality and effectiveness.

The axle box bearing of bogie is one of the key components of the rail transit train, which can ensure the rotary motion of wheelsets and make the wheelsets adapt to the conditions of uneven railways. At the same time, the axle box bearing also exposes most of the load of the car body. Long-time high-speed rotation and heavy load make the axle box bearing prone to failure. If the bearing failure occurs, it will greatly affect the safety of the train. Therefore, it is extremely important to monitor the health status of the axle box bearing. At present, the health status of the axle box bearing is mainly monitored by vibration information and temperature information. Compared with the temperature data, the vibration data can more easily detect the early fault of the bearing, and early warning of the bearing state can avoid the occurrence of serious fault in time. Therefore, this paper is based on the vibration data of the axle box bearing to carry out adaptive fault diagnosis of bearing. First, the AR model predictive filter is used to denoise the vibration signal of the bearing, and then the signal is whitened in the frequency domain. Finally, the characteristic value of vibration data is extracted by energy operator demodulation, and the fault type is determined by comparing with the theoretical value. Through the analysis of the constructed simulation signal data, the characteristic parameters of the data can be effectively extracted. The experimental data collected from the bearing testbed of high-speed train are analyzed and verified, which further proves the effectiveness of the feature extraction method proposed in this paper. Compared with other axle box bearing fault diagnosis methods, the innovation of the proposed method is that the signal is denoised twice by using AR filter and spectrum whitening, and the adaptive extraction of fault features is realized by using energy operator. At the same time, the steps of setting parameters in the process of feature extraction are avoided in other feature extraction methods, which improves the diagnostic efficiency and is conducive to use in online monitoring system.

Fault diagnosis of rolling bearings is not a trivial task because fault-induced periodic transient impulses are always submerged in environmental noise as well as large accidental impulses and attenuated by transmission path. In most hybrid diagnostic methods available for rolling bearings, the problems lie in twofolds. First, most optimization indices used in the individual signal processing stage do not take the periodical characteristic of fault transient impulses into consideration. Second, the individual stages make use of different optimization indices resulting in inconsistent optimization directions and possibly an unsatisfied diagnosis. To solve these problems, a multistage fault feature extraction method of consistent optimization for rolling bearings based on correlated kurtosis (CK) is proposed where maximum correlated kurtosis deconvolution (MCKD) is employed to attenuate the influence of transmission path followed by tunable Q factor wavelet transform (TQWT) to further enhance fault features by decomposing the preprocessed signals into multiple subbands under different Q values. The major contribution of the proposed approach is to consistently use CK as an optimization index of both MCKD and TQWT. The subband signal with the maximum CK which is an index being able to measure the periodical transient impulses in vibration signal yields an envelope spectrum, from which fault diagnosis is implemented. Simulated and experimental signals verified the effectiveness and advantages of the proposed method.
