A novel way to measure humidity through testing the emissivity of an area radiant source is presented in this paper. The method can be applied in the environment at near room temperature (5~95 °C) across the relative humidity (RH) range of 20~90% RH. The source, with a grooved radiant surface, works in the far infrared wavelength band of 8~12 μm. The Monte-Carlo model for thermal radiation was set up to analyze the V-grooved radiant surface. Heat pipe technology is used to maintain an isothermal radiant surface. The fuzzy-PID control method was adopted to solve the problems of intense heat inertia and being easily interfered by the environment. This enabled the system to be used robustly across a large temperature range with high precision. The experimental results tested with a scanning radiant thermometer showed that the radiant source can provide a uniform thermal radiation capable of satisfying the requirements of humidity testing. The calibration method for the radiant source for humidity was explored, which is available for testing humidity.

This paper presented a new method based on the Fuzzy self - adaptive PID for BLDCM. This method overcomes some defects of the traditional PID control. Such as lower control precision and worse anti - jamming performance. It dynamic model of BLDCM was built, and then design method for TS fuzzy PID model is given, At last, it compared simulation results of PID control method with TS Fuzzy PID control method. The results show that the TS Fuzzy PID control method has more excellent dynamic antistatic performances, as well as anti-jamming performance. The experiment shows that TS fuzzy PID control has the stronger adaptability robustness and transplant.

The test rig for hydro-pneumatic converter used in straddle type monorail vehicles was researched, and its electro-pneumatic proportional control system was set up and simulated based on AMESim/Simulink. Compared fuzzy-PID (Proportion Integral Derivative) controller with PID controller through fuzzy logic tool box in Simulink, the results indicate that, this electro-pneumatic proportional control system can meet design requirements better, and fuzzy-PID controller has higher accuracy and stability than PID controller.

In this study, we presented a boiler combustion robust control method under load changes based on the least squares support vector machine, PID parameters are on-line adjusted and identified by LSSVM, optimum control output is obtained. The simulation result shows control performance of the intelligent control algorithm is superior to traditional control algorithm and fuzzy PID control algorithm, the study provides a new control method for strong non-linear boiler combustion control system.

Aiming at the low precision problem of multi-cylinder cooperative propulsion control in different regions of shield propulsion hydraulic systems under conditions of large load changes, this paper proposes a tracking differentiator and self-adaptive nonlinear PID (TD-NPID) control method to improve the synchronous control characteristics of shield propulsion hydraulic systems. First, the working principles of shield propulsion hydraulic systems were analyzed, and a mathematical model and TD-NPID controller were developed. Then, a simulation model was developed in AMESim-MATLAB environment, and the synchronous dynamic performances of fuzzy PID control, conventional PID control, and TD-NPID control were compared and analyzed. The results demonstrated that the shield propulsion hydraulic system with TD-NPID control had better servo tracking ability and steady-state performance than the systems with fuzzy or conventional PID control, which verified the feasibility of the application of TD-NPID control for the synchronous control of shield propulsion hydraulic systems.

Thermal print head heating realtime temperature fluctuations are too large, often causing damage to the print head heating point, resulting in poor print quality and unsatisfactory print results. Therefore, in order to improve the stability of the thermal print head during printing, and at the same time solve the inefficiency of the traditional single chip microcomputer control of the thermal print head heating method, a field programmable gate array (FPGA) based thermal print head heating control method is proposed. In order to control the core, the intelligent fuzzy PID control algorithm is used to ensure that the temperature of the print head can be stabilized quickly. Through simulation and experimental verification, it is shown that the intelligent fuzzy PID control algorithm greatly improves the temperature stabilization effect, and the time required to reach stability short, not only improve the printing accuracy, but also extend the life of the print head.

Infrared science and technology has been, since the first applications, mainly dedicated to security and surveillance especially in military field, besides specialized techniques in thermal imaging for medical diagnostic and building structures and recently in energy savings and aerospace context. Till recently the security applications were mainly based on thermal imaging as surveillance and warning military systems. In all these applications the advent of room temperature, more reliable due to the coolers avoidance, low cost, and, overall, completely integrable with Silicon technology FPAs, especially designed and tailored for specific applications, smart sensors, has really been impacted with revolutionary and new ideas and system concepts in all the infrared fields, especially for security applications. Lastly, the advent of reliable Infrared Solid State Laser Sources, operating up to the Long Infrared Wavelength Band and the new emerging techniques in Far Infrared Submillimeter Terahertz Bands, has opened wide and new areas for developing new, advanced security systems. A review of all the items with evidence of the weak and the strong points of each item, especially considering possible future developments, will be reported and discussed.

<p>Titan is a unique body in the solar system in particular because of its earth-like surface features, its putative undersurface liquid water ocean and its large organic content in the atmosphere and on the surface . These chemical species evolve with season, as Titan follows Saturn in its orbit around the Sun with an inclination of about 27°. We performed an analysis of spectra acquired by Cassini/CIRS at high resolution covering the range from 10 to 1500 cm<sup>-1</sup> since the beginning and until the last flyby of Titan in 2017 and describe the temperature and composition variations ([1-3]. By applying our radiative transfer code (ARTT) to the high-resolution CIRS spectra we study the stratospheric evolution over almost two Titan seasons [1,2]. CIRS nadir and limb spectral together show variations in temperature and chemical composition in the stratosphere during the Cassini mission, before and after the Northern Spring Equinox (NSE) and also during one Titan year.</p><p>Since the 2010 equinox we have thus reported on monitoring of Titan’s stratosphere near the poles and in particular on the observed strong temperature decrease and compositional enhancement above Titan’s southern polar latitudes since 2012 and until 2014 of several trace species, such as complex hydrocarbons and nitriles, which were previously observed only at high northern latitudes. This effect followed the transition of Titan’s seasons from northern winter in 2002 to northern summer in 2017, while at that latter time the southern hemisphere was entering winter.</p><p>Our data show a continued decrease of the abundances which we first reported to have started in 2015. The 2017 data we have acquired and analyzed here are important because they are the only ones recorded since 2014 close to the south pole in the far-infrared nadir mode at high resolution. A large temperature increase in the southern polar stratosphere (by 10-50 K in the 0.5 mbar-0.05 mbar pressure range) is found and a change in the temperature profile’s shape. The 2017 observations also show a related significant decrease in most of the abundances which must have started sometime between 2014 and 2017 [3]. In our work, we show that the equatorial latitudes remain rather constant throughout the Cassini mission.</p><p>We have thus shown that the south pole of Titan is now losing its strong enhancement, while the north pole also slowly continues its decrease in gaseous opacities. It would have been interesting to see when this might happen, but the Cassini mission ended in September 2017. Perhaps future ground-based measurements and the Dragonfly mission can pursue this investigation and monitor Titan’s atmosphere to characterize the seasonal events. With the aging of society, the number of fall accidents has increased in hospitals and care facilities, and some accidents have happened around beds. To help prevent accidents, mats and clip sensors have been used in these facilities but they can be invasive, and their purpose may be misinterpreted. In recent years, research has been conducted using an infrared-image depth sensor as a bed-monitoring system for detecting a patient getting up, exiting the bed, and/or falling; however, some manual calibration was required initially to set up the sensor in each instance. We propose a bed-monitoring system that retains the infrared-image depth sensors but uses semi-automatic rather than manual calibration in each situation where it is applied. Our automated methods robustly calculate the bed region, surrounding floor, sensor location, and attitude, and can recognize the spatial position of the patient even when the sensor is attached but unconstrained. Also, we propose a means to reconfigure the spatial position considering occlusion by parts of the bed and also accounting for the gravity center of the patient’s body. Experimental results of multi-view calibration and motion simulation showed that our methods were effective for recognition of the spatial position of the patient.

This study proposes a unique approach to convert a voltage signal obtained from a hot-wire anemometry to flow velocity data by making a slight modification to existing temperature-correction methods. The approach was a simplified calibration method for the constant-temperature mode of hot-wire anemometry without knowing exact wire temperature. The necessary data are the freestream temperature and a set of known velocity data which gives reference velocities in addition to the hot-wire signal. The proposed method was applied to various boundary layer velocity profiles with large temperature variations while the wire temperature was unknown. The target flow velocity was ranged between 20 and 80 m/s. By using a best-fit approach between the velocities in the boundary layer obtained by hot-wire anemometry and by the pitot-tube measurement, which provides reference data, the unknown wire temperature was sought. Results showed that the proposed simplified calibration approach was applicable to a velocity range between 20 and 80 m/s and with temperature variations up to 15 °C with an uncertainty level of 2.6% at most for the current datasets.
