In e-commerce, the user interface design of a website is critical to its success. However, there is limited research on how colour and layout design elements influence the perception of e-commerce websites for mobile devices. To bridge this gap, we conducted an empirical study to investigate, how the layout of information and colour temperature of an e-commerce tourism website for mobile device influence essential Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) user experience (UX) design attributes and intention to use the website. The results of our Partial Least Square Path Modelling (PLSPM) showed that both interface design elements significantly influence perceived aesthetics, perceived enjoyment, perceived usefulness and intention to use. Specifically, layout (list = 0 and grid = 1) positively influences perceived aesthetics and perceived enjoyment, while colour temperature negatively influences perceived usefulness and intention to use. The first finding suggests that in tourism website design for mobile devices, a grid layout of products and services provides a better hedonic user experience than a list layout. Moreover, the second finding suggests that cooler-temperature (blue and green) tourism websites are viewed by users as more useful than warmer-temperature (orange and red) tourism websites. We discuss the implications of these findings in the context of website UX design for mobile devices in the tourism domain.

This research focused on the potential of project-based learning and blended learning, which offer a distinctive cross-point in regard to building 21st-century skills in the classroom. Specifically, this research hypothesized that using the BPBL approach has an effect on perceived self-efficacy, perceived enjoyment, perceived usefulness, behavioral intention of using BPBL, and students’ academic achievement. To achieve the research goal, we employed a questionnaire as the main data collection method and dispensed it to 80 students, all of whom use the BPBL approach. The findings were obtained via a quantitative research method, structural equation modeling (SEM). We found a significant relationship between the BPBL approach and perceived self-efficacy, perceived enjoyment, perceived usefulness, behavioral intention of using BPBL, and students’ academic achievement. Therefore, we believe that the BPBL approach enhances students’ behavioral intention to use and academic achievement in a blended project-based learning approach and allows sharing knowledge, information, and discussions. Thus, it is recommended that students use the BPBL approach for educational purposes, and they should also be encouraged to do so through their learning at university level.

The user experience iterative process in interface design cannot meet the needs of point to point cases information delivery. In this paper, the process which combined with modern semiotics design methods was re-designed. With the process, design elements were refined in semiotics and the workflows and frames were recreated. And the point to point iterative interaction design process based on user experience were proposed through the interaction design of Kashgar self-service tourism website and developed the prototype system, which verified the practical application of the availability and effectiveness of the new design process.

Teachers in the US have been increasingly adopting mobile devices for teaching, but little research has examined how pre-service teachers perceive mobile device integration in classrooms. To address this issue, the study developed a research model that explained factors affecting pre-service teachers' intention to use mobile devices and the relationship among the factors. A total of 386 pre-service teachers participated in an online survey, and the model was tested using structural equation modeling. The results showed that 72.5% of variances in pre-service teachers' intention to use mobile devices were explained by perceived usefulness and self-efficacy for technology integration jointly, where perceived usefulness was the strongest predictor. The findings also demonstrated that constructivist beliefs and perceived ease of use indirectly influenced pre-service teachers' intention to use mobile devices for teaching.

The purpose of this study was to develop and validate a new learning environments instrument designed to aid investigators and practitioners in measuring and researching the pupils’ behaviour intention to use e-book technology. The use of e-book technology in schools is now ubiquitous, but the effectiveness on the learning environment has mixed results. This study intends to investigate factors affecting pupils’ behavioural intentions to use the e-book technology. Integrating Child Computer Interaction (CCI) factors such as usability and interface with the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) factors such as Perceived Enjoyment (PE),  Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU), Perceived Usefulness (PU) and Behaviour Intention (BI). Using e-book technology acceptance survey was developed, field-tested with 40 pupils from school aged 10-17 years  and then validated. The proposed questionnaire has 33 items allocated to six scales: (1) Usability; (2) interface; (3) Perceived Enjoyment; (4) Perceived Ease of Use; (5) Perceived Usefulness and (6) Behaviour Intention. The proposed questionnaire was administered to pupils in the schools. Six experts in the field of computer science, information system and technology to justify it, especially in relation to the elements of each concept, assessed content validity or face validity of the questionnaire. Then alpha reliability, convergent validity and discernment validity have been calculated in this study.   The questionnaire of e-book technology acceptance has strong evaluative and discriminative properties and can be used with confidence to measure the e-book acceptance for pupils.

The purpose of this study is to examine the associations among perceived relative advantages, compatibility, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, perceived enjoyment, and continuous intention to use event management electronic portals in Aqaba 4 and 5 Star hotels. A survey instrument was used to examine the relationships in the proposed model. The collected primary data (n=200) from employees who are familiar with hotels’ event management electronic portals located in Aqaba city is conducted to test the relationship between exogenous and endogenous construct expressed in the proposed structural model. By employing SEM (Structural Equation Modeling) analysis, the findings revealed that while both variables perceived relative advantages and compatibility directly, positively, and significantly impacted perceived usefulness; both variables did not impact perceived enjoyment. Also, perceived ease of use has significant impacts on perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment. In addition, both of perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment found to impact continuous intention to use.

Innovative applications are often complex systems. In designing this kind of application, usability, perceived usefulness and appropriateness of adaptation are the three most commonly assessed variables. However, in order to obtain a more engaging overall user experience, a good designer should perform proper formative and summative usability tests, based on the user's emotional level, which becomes a user-centered evaluation activity. Moreover, traditional methods are not ideal, as information about the user's emotional state should be captured in an implicit and transparent manner, in order to be non-invasive and more effective. Brain Computer Interface has recently witnessed an explosion of systems for studying human emotion by the acquisition and processing of physiological signals. The authors view Adaptive Virtual Environments, as one of the most representative examples of innovative applications, and also as elicitors of a complex user emotion synthesis. Therefore, in this paper the authors propose a user-centered approach to the design and support of the user experience through an adaptive virtual environment, via brain-computer interface. Firstly, the authors focus on the design of an engaging overall experience for potential users, by exploiting their emotional level as a powerful engine in the interaction experience. Secondly, the author work to enhance the user experience by dynamically adapting the interaction to the user's emotional state, so that there will be a more immersive and satisfying interaction.

The aim of this study is to investigate how interactivity with e-learning influence learners' consideration to use based on Malaysian settings and the effect relating to the learners' experiences in using e-learning over a period of time. This study uses a multiple regression for data analysis across a sample of 204 respondents. Based on the analysis, the interactivity factor such as two-way communication has significantly affected among perceived usefulness (PU), perceived ease of use (PEOU), and perceived enjoyment (PE) while controllability and personalization affect towards PU and responsiveness on PEOU. Moreover, PE has directly affected the usage intention of e-learning system over time with increased usage experiences. The results could assist schools or universities enhancing the contents of e-learning system in order to encourage learners to strongly engage in utilizing the education materials that is provided, as well as improving the interactivity factors on the system.

<p>With increasing changes in our demographic populations and new immigrants settling in the US, there is an increasing need for visual communications that address the diversity of our populations. This paper draws from the results of the researcher’s several past research and teaching projects that worked with different cultural populations. These projects examined the theme of multicultural design with a particular focus on user experience for audiences from different cultural backgrounds. The nature of the projects included printed materials, web design, video production, and interactive design. The researcher examined users’ preferences for precise language presentation, options of visual layout, cultural related design elements such as images, colors, fonts, and interactive interface design. The goal of this paper is to increase design educators and students’ awareness in designing projects for culturally diverse audiences.<strong> </strong></p>
