The behavior of a simple computer model considering a random distribution of brittle spherical particles in a ductile matrix is examined in order to highlight the intrinsic variations of the fracture conditions due to the probabilistic nature of the particle cleavage. The model is qualitatively supported by experimental data on stress-strain behavior and damage accumulation in an Al-Si alloy with unconnected equiaxed Si particles. It is used to evaluate the effect of the particle failure statistics on the fracture characteristics (strength, ductility, and fraction of cracked particles) and their scatter, which occur to be strongly dependent on the specific shape of the probabilistic law. In particular, it is found that the variations of the fracture conditions may depend non-monotonously on its sharpness, in the case of the well-known Weibull statistics controlled by the value of the respective modulus of the material of hard particles. The existence of a maximum scatter leads to a suggestion that the choice of the reinforcements may influence not only on the average value of the fracture resistance but also on the quality of its prediction.

As the capital of the province, education in the Makassar supposed to be better than other cities in the province of South Sulawesi. In fact, the quality of education is still far from expectation. So was the result of the theacher’s competence test. Likewise, teacher competency test result, data on the Department of Education in Makassar to participants of UKG in Makassar is the average value of fewer than 50. In fact, there are teachers who receive 30 from 100 questions in the exam. The condition is not in line with the role of the teacher that is crucial in improving the quality of education. Therefore, it is very important to improve the performance of teachers in all junior high school in Makassar in order to improve the quality of education with the problems of this research consist of (i) how is the performance of the teachers on all State secondary schools in Makassar?  This research aims at (i) finding out the teachers’ performance on all State secondary schools in Makassar; The results show that (i) the teachers’ performance on all State secondary schools in Makassar are on the good category.

This reseach was conducted by using the theory of service quality dimensions from Zeithaml-Parasuraman-Berry (1996). Data obtained by distributing 100 questionnaires to Japanese tourists on August 2019. The variable created refers to the role of the front office clerk from Bagiono (2012). Based on SPSS calculations, the accuracy of this research model is 73% at an error rate of 5%. From the results of data processing it is known that the average value of the service quality of front office staff at star hotels in Bali is 4.11 (good). But there are still indicators that are not good, that is, an indicator of Japanese language ability, with an average value of 3.23. Based on the results of exploratory factor analysis of 31 variables, found 7 factors forming the quality of front office staff services,  1) responsiveness with a value (13,916), 2) empathy (2,355), 3) reliability (1,513), 4) tangible (1,486) , 5) assurance (1.29), 6) friendly (1,220), and 7) communication (1,140).  The biggest factor influencing the satisfaction of Japanese tourists towards the quality of front office staff services is the responsiveness factor while the lowest factor is the communication factor.

This research is motivated by the role of language that is very important in the development of science and technology, especially English which is one of the foreign languages that are widely used in every aspect of life such as science, education, culture, business, and entertainment. The author looks at the reality of the lack of mastery of English in the educational environment, especially in the ability to speak. This study aims to describe changes in behaviour after learning English using online video learning media. The theoretical benefit of this research is for the development of science and as a provision for teachers so that it can overcome the problems that occur to students in order to improve the quality of education better. Practical benefits of this research are expected to provide input for English teachers in choosing media as an alternative to improve the quality of learning English and can provide input to teachers in the use of online learning video media for learning English (the ability to speak). The method used in this study is a research method of classroom action with two cycles carried out on the teacher discuss a UK and students of class X SMA Hang Tuah 4 Surabaya. Each cycle consists of stages of planning, action, observation and reflection. Data collection is carried out by testing and non-test. Data analysis is carried out with quantitative and qualitative techniques. Quantitative data analysis is obtained by calculating the overall student value and recapping the test scores, then calculating the average value obtained. The expected results of this study can be concluded that learning by using online video learning media can improve students' speaking ability and can change student behaviour towards positive.

This article introduces Cognitive Health Counseling 40+ (CH.CO40+), an individualized intervention that is conceptually based on the orchestration model of quality-of-life management ( Martin & Kliegel, 2010 ) and aims at improving satisfaction with cognitive health in adults aged 40 years and older. We describe the theoretically deduced characteristics of CH.CO40+, its target group, its multifactorial nature, its individualization, the application of subjective and objective measures, the role of participants as agents of change, and the rationale for choosing participants’ satisfaction with their cognitive health as main outcome variable. A pilot phase with 15 middle-aged and six older adults suggests that CH.CO40+ attracts, and may be particularly suitable for, subjective memory complainers. Implications of the pilot data for the further development of the intervention are discussed.
