Discourse on green construction and sustainable development is currently a major topic in everywhere, including Indonesia. In every production activities, the manufacturing process always produces waste or residual production. In connection with the issue of sustainable development, certainly, the problem of waste utilization that frequently occur in the industrial sector should be minimized and handled so that no adverse impact to the environment. The interior design enterprise is one of the creative industries which is mostly using wood as a raw materials, waste generated from this manufacturing is not in small amount. The community service was collaborated with two interior design enterprises, namely CV Abstrak 3D and CV Garis Pratama, both located in Kendari and classified as a small enterprises. The main activity was to given assistance on the production process-based eco-design, which is a production process that applies the principles of environmentally friendly in every process. Environmentally friendly starting from the identification phase, production, waste processing, until the marketing phase. Through this community service, an increase in productivity as well as knowledge were achieved by both of partners. One of examples of productivity improvement is the ability of the enterprises to process production waste into some valuable goods Keywords:  creative industry, interior design, furniture, eco-design, wood waste utilization

One of the fundamental economic determinants of sustainable development is the optimal use of limited resources and the use of environmentally friendly-nature, energy, and material-saving technologies, including the extraction and processing of raw materials, the creation of environmentally friendly products, minimization, processing and disposal of waste. In this study, in order to clarify the indicator "ecological potential of the region", it is proposed to consider a number of indica-tors that, according to the authors, have a significant impact on this phenomenon. One of the significant indicators for assessing the ecological potential of the territo-ry is the indicator of the area of landfills for the disposal of solid municipal waste (MSW) in a particular region. The authors hypothesize that the change in the vol-umes of landfills for the disposal of solid municipal waste (MSW) in a particular region depends on the type of development of the territory. As the main defining indicators (factors-arguments) of the development of the region were chosen: the number of manufacturing enterprises, population and gross regional product (GRP) per capita. The authors have developed a regression model to determine the degree of influence of a number of socio-economic indicators on the volumes of landfills for the disposal of MSW. Significant parameters were determined for terri-tories with different types of regional development (extensive type of develop-ment. Using the method of regression analysis, it was found by calculation that for regions of all types of development, the decisive factor that affects the volume of landfills for the disposal of MSW is the population of the territory. With the help of the coefficient of elasticity, the closeness of the relationship of the considered fac-tors-arguments was determined.

A systematic analysis of the concept of "sustainable development of the region" is carried out . The classification of factors that affect the process of sustainable development is given. A three -factor resource model for the formation of sustainable development of the region , including human, financial and raw materials, is described. The necessity of systematic monitoring as an element of regional development control is substantiated.

Nitriles comprise a broad group of chemicals that are currently being industrially produced and used in fine chemicals and pharmaceuticals, as well as in bulk applications, polymer chemistry, solvents, etc. Aldoxime dehydratases catalyze the cyanide-free synthesis of nitriles starting from aldoximes under mild conditions, holding potential to become sustainable alternatives for industrial processes. Different aldoxime dehydratases accept a broad range of aldoximes with impressive high substrate loadings of up to >1 Kg L−1 and can efficiently catalyze the reaction in aqueous media as well as in non-aqueous systems, such as organic solvents and solvent-free (neat substrates). This paper provides an overview of the recent developments in this field with emphasis on strategies that may be of relevance for industry and sustainability. When possible, potential links to biorefineries and to the use of biogenic raw materials are discussed.

The mining industry in the world has undergone a major metamorphosis in recent years. These changes have forced higher education to modify the curricula in a thorough way to meet the mining entrepreneurs’ needs. The paper’s scope is to answer the research question—how to attract students and implement Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in higher education in mining engineering? Based on the case of international cooperation carried out at the Faculty of Geoengineering, Mining and Geology of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology (WUST) within the framework of educational projects co-financed by European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) and EIT Knowledge and Innovation Communities Raw Materials (EIT RM), the authors prove that the idea of sustainable development can be introduced into the system of teaching mining specialists at every level of their higher education (engineering and master’s studies), through developing their new competencies, introducing new subjects taking into account innovative solutions and technologies, or placing great emphasis on environmental and social aspects. Examples of new curricula show a good way to change into the new face of a mining engineer.

Sustainable development is a global objective that aims to address the societal challenge of climate action, the environment, resource efficiency, and raw materials. In this sense, an important strategy is the promotion of green packaging, that is, the use of sustainable materials and designs for the packaging of goods. In recent years, many research works have been published in the specialised area covering the different perspectives and dimensions of green packaging. However, to our knowledge, no previous investigations have analysed the research activity on green packaging from business and consumer perspectives. The present study intends to fill this gap by analysing all of the publications found in the Scopus database with the help of visual analytic tools, including word clouds and Gephi network visualization software. More specifically, our study analyses the impact of green packaging from business and consumer viewpoints, including some specific issues such as the design and materials used in green packaging, green packaging costs, marketing strategies and corporate social responsibility related to green packaging, and the impact of green packaging in waste management, the circular economy, logistics, and supply chain management. The results obtained reveal the growing interest of scholars and researchers in all of these dimensions, as is made patently clear by the increasing number of journal publications in recent years. The practical implications of this study are significant, given the growing awareness among companies and consumers about the importance of the promotion of sustainable development through green packaging alternatives. More specifically, the results of this research could be very useful for all of those agents who are interested in learning about the main lines of research being developed in the field of green packaging.

Inefficient and non-environmentally friendly absorbent production can lead to much resource waste and go against low carbon and sustainable development. A novel and efficient Mg-Fe-Ce (MFC) complex metal oxide absorbent of fluoride ion (F−) removal was proposed for safe, environmentally friendly, and sustainable drinking water management. A series of optimization and preparation processes for the adsorbent and batch experiments (e.g., effects of solution pH, adsorption kinetics, adsorption isotherms, effects of coexisting anions, as well as surface properties tests) were carried out to analyze the characteristics of the adsorbent. The results indicated that optimum removal of F− occurred in a pH range of 4–5.5, and higher adsorption performances also happened under neutral pH conditions. The kinetic data under 10 and 50 mg·g−1 were found to be suitable for the pseudo-second-order adsorption rate model, and the two-site Langmuir model was ideal for adsorption isotherm data as compared to the one-site Langmuir model. According to the two-site Langmuir model, the maximum adsorption capacity calculated at pH 7.0 ± 0.2 was 204 mg·g−1. The adsorption of F− was not affected by the presence of sulfate (SO42−), nitrate (NO3−), and chloride (Cl−), which was suitable for practical applications in drinking water with high F− concentration. The MFC adsorbent has an amorphous structure, and there was an exchange reaction between OH− and F−. The novel MFC adsorbent was proven to have higher efficiency, better economy, and environmental sustainability, and be more environmentally friendly.

Yulin City, which is rich in energy, is one of the national energy and chemical bases. But with the process of exploitation of resources, it causes serious ecological damage and has grim living environment situation in the local environment. It is in long-term about the sustainable development of city very urgent. This paper analyzes the reputation, ruin and its treatment of the development of energy resources in Yulin City, trying to explore the sustainable development mode which is suit in resource-dependent of area.
