Thiazoles have attracted much synthetic interest due to their wide variety of biological properties and are important members of heterocyclic compounds. In recent years, studies on the synthesis of thiazole compounds have been increasing because of the properties of this core. In particular, the hybrid structures in which the thiazole ring and the other nuclei are linked have gained popularity. Hybrid structures are formed by the combination of different groups of chemical reactivity and biological activity characteristics. In this review, we highlight recent developments related to hybrid structures containing a thiazole core, recently developed as anticancer, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-tubercular, antialzheimer and antidiabetic compounds.

Benzothiazoles have played an important role in the field of biochemistry and medicinal chemistry due to their highly pharmaceutical and biological activity. The development of synthetic processes is undoubtedly one of the most significant problems facing researchers. In this review paper, we provided recent advances in the synthesis of benzothiazole compounds related to green chemistry from condensation of 2-aminobenzenethiol with aldehydes/ketones/acids/acyl chlorides and the cyclization of thioamide or carbon dioxide (CO2) as raw materials, and the future development trend and prospect of the synthesis of benzothiazoles were anticipated.

: Thioaurones are known for more than one hundred years; however, they are relatively less studied. In some way, due to their appealing as a candidate of photoswitchable molecules, they have led to generating considerable interest in the last years. In this literature survey, we report and discuss the recent advancements made in the synthesis, reactivity and applications of the thioaurone derivatives. To a great extent, the review summarizes published works from different databases since 2005.
