Li6-xZr2-xAxO7 (A = Nb; Ta) system with 0 < x < 0.30 is synthesized by glycine-nitrate method. Boundaries of solid solutions based on monoclinic Li6Zr2O7 are determined; temperature (200–600 °C) and concentration dependences of conductivity are investigated. It is shown that monoclinic Li6Zr2O7 exhibits better transport properties compared to its triclinic modification. Li5.8Zr1.8Nb(Ta)0.2O7 solid solutions have a higher lithium-cation conductivity at 300 °C compared to solid electrolytes based on other lithium zirconates due the “open” structure of monoclinic Li6Zr2O7 and a high solubility of the doping cations.

ABSTRACTOur efforts to improve the thermoelectric properties of β-K2Bi8Se13, led to systematic studies of solid solutions of the type β-K2Bi8−xSbxSe13. The charge transport properties and thermal conductivities were studied for selected members of the series. Lattice thermal conductivity decreases due to the mass fluctuation generated in the lattice by the mixed occupation of Sb and Bi atoms. Se excess as a dopant was found to increase the figure-of merit of the solid solutions.

The solid solutions of [Formula: see text] were synthesized by solid-phase reactions from powder components of CaS, BaS, and Ga2S3. The temperature-concentration dependences of the Gibbs free energy of formation of [Formula: see text] solid solutions from ternary compounds and phase diagrams of the CaGa2S4–BaGa2S4 were determined by a calculation method. It was revealed that continuous solid solutions are formed in these systems. The spinodal decomposition of [Formula: see text] solid solutions into two phases is predicted at ordinary temperatures.

The technology of obtaining solid electrolytes by mechanochemical method with subsequent cold pressing from inexpensive common clinoptilolite rocks and ionic salts – sodium and ammonium hydrophosphates at varying ratios of the initial components and the duration of mechanical activation is presented. Their physical and transport properties, namely, true density, hygroscopic humidity, specific surface according to Tovarov, volumetric electrical conductivity were found. Promising samples for further research were created, recommended for use as solid electrolytes.
