In the industries of petroleum extraction, a large volume of oily sludge is being generated. This waste is usually considered difficult to dispose of, causing environmental and economic issues. This study presented the novel experimental method of manufacturing mortar used in civil construction by cement and oily sludge ash (OSA). The defined method was described with a logical experimental study conducted to examine a feasible manufacturing method for casting cement-based mortars by partially replacing cement with OSA. Replacement concentrations for OSA ranged from 0 to 20 percent by cement weight, while the water-to-cement (w/c) ratio was varied from 0.4 to 0.8, and the amount of sand was kept constant. The strengths and absorption rate of the mortar were monitored for 28 days. The OSA contains a crystalline structure with packs of angular grains. Because of OSA in the cement-based mortar mixtures and water-to-cement ratios, the mechanical strength was improved significantly. However, the water absorption trend increased linearly. Using variance analysis, the influence of OSA and w/c ratio on the behavior of mortar was acquired. The developed models were significant for all p-value reactions of <5%. Numerical optimization results showed that the best mixture can be obtained by replacing 8.19 percent cement with OSA and 0.52 as a ratio of w/c.

The current study experimentally investigates the heat transfer augmentation on the novel axial corrugated heat exchanger tube in which the spring tape is introduced. Air (Pr = 0.707) is used as a working fluid. In order to augment the thermohydraulic performance, a corrugated tube with inserts is offered. The experimental study is further extended by varying the important parameters like spring ratio (y = 1.5, 2.0, 2.5) and Reynolds number (Re = 10 000–52 000). The angular pitch between the two neighboring corrugations and the angle of the corrugation is kept constant through the experiments at β = 1200 and α = 600 respectively, while two different corrugations heights (h) are analyzed. While increasing the corrugation height and decreasing the spring ratio, the impact of the swirling effect improves the thermal performance of the system. The maximum thermal performance is obtained when the corrugation height is h = 0.2 and spring ratio y = 1.5. Eventually, correlations for predicting friction factor (f) and Nusselt number (Nu) are developed.

Although a significant amount of research on robot joint reducer was conducted, there are few systematic investigations on a novel joint reducer adopting inner worm-gear plane enveloping drum worm drive. To satisfy the development of modular robot joint, the primary objective of this paper was to systematically investigate the drum worm drive adopted in the novel joint reducer with integrated structure of drive, transmission, and support in the following aspects: meshing theory, design, analysis, and manufacture. According to the gear meshing theory, mechanical design method, classical mechanics, finite element method, and machining principle of virtual center distance, the systematic investigations around the drum worm pair applied in the novel joint reducer were conducted including the macro and micro meshing theory, structure design, mechanical and contact properties analyses, and manufacturing method. The novel joint reducer’s integrated structure was designed, and the drum worm pair’s mechanical and contact properties analyses were conducted, which showed: (1) the worm’s bending stress and deflection, worm-gear teeth’s shear stress and bending stress as well as the maximum contact stresses were all below their corresponding allowable values; (2) the maximum contact stresses appeared at the engage-in position of the worm pair opposing to the engaging-out position where the largest contact areas appeared. Then the manufacturing of drum worm’s spiral tooth was conducted via the modified 4-axis linkage CNC grinder according to the conjugate motion. Finally the novel joint reducer’s industrial prototype was assembled. The novel joint reducer with integrated structure of drive, transmission and support was designed and manufactured for the first time. The flowchart of design and manufacture of the reducer’s drum worm pair in this process was formulated, which provides a new insight on the research of joint reducers as well as other fields.

Abstract: The most common periodontal disease is gingivitis which is caused by biofilm accumulation on plaque around the gingival margin and inflammatory response to bacteria. Scaling is used to eliminate bacterial and calculus deposits that cause gingivitis. This study was aimed to determine the effectiveness of scaling in gingivitis treatment. This was a pre-experimental study with one group pre and post test design. Samples were obtained by using total sampling technique. There were 30 patients aged 17-45 years that had scaling performed on them at RSGM in 2019. Gingivitis was observed before and after scaling using the modified gingival index (MGI). The results showed that before scaling, there were mild gingivitis 23.30%, moderate gingivitis 70%, and severe gingivitis 6.70%. Two days after scaling, mild gingivitis and moderate gingivitis were observed 50% each. The paired sample t-test showed a p-value of 0.000. In conclusion, scaling is effective in gingivitis treatment based on the assessment using the modified gingival index. Keywords: gingivitis, scaling, modified gingival index Abstrak: Penyakit periodontal yang paling sering dijumpai yakni gingivitis (peradangan gingiva). Objective Atherosclerosis is a chronic inflammatory process characterized by the accumulation and formation of lipid-rich plaques within the layers of the arterial wall. Although numerous studies have reported the underlying pathogenesis, no data-based studies have been conducted to analyze the potential genes and immune cells infiltration in the different stages of atherosclerosis via bioinformatics analysis. Methods In this study, we downloaded GSE100927 and GSE28829 from NCBI-GEO database. Gene ontology and pathway enrichment were performed via the DAVID database. The protein interaction network was constructed via STRING. Enriched hub genes were analyzed by the Cytoscape software. The evaluation of the infiltrating immune cells in the dataset samples was performed by the CIBERSORT algorithm. Results We identified 114 common upregulated differentially expressed genes and 22 common downregulated differentially expressed genes. (adjust p value < 0.01 and log FC ≥ 1). A cluster of 10 genes including CYBA, SLC11A1, FCER1G, ITGAM, ITGB2, CD53, ITGAX, VAMP8, CLEC5A, and CD300A were found to be significant. Through the deconvolution algorithm CIBERSORT, we analyzed the significant alteration of immune cells infiltration in the progression of atherosclerosis with the threshold of the Wilcoxon test at p value <0.05. Conclusions These results may reveal the underlying correlations between genes and immune cells in atherosclerosis, which enable us to investigate the novel insights for the development of treatments and drugs.
