The good filling performance of self-compacting concrete (SCC) to pre-placed assembly of rocks is essential for quality of rock-filled concrete (RFC). In this study, a theoretical model is proposed to evaluate the filling capacity of SCC in porous media that is simplified to approximate the assembly of rocks. Numerical simulation of SCC flow in the porous media is carried out based on the computational fluid dynamics. The effects of yield stress of SCC and size and shape of grains in the porous media on the filling capacity of SCC are considered. The inclination of the free surface of the distribution of SCC at flow stoppage is defined to evaluate the filling capacity of SCC in the porous media. According to the theoretical model, the inclination is directly proportional to the yield stress of the SCC and the blocking effect of grains, while inversely proportional to the grain size. The numerical simulation provides consistent results with the theoretical model. The results suggest the use of rounded large rocks and SCC with low yield stress to ensure good quality of RFC.

Grinding is often used as the final manufacturing method which is an important processing method. Its’ quality of parts surface will directly affect the life and strength of mechanical parts. Therefore, the quality of parts surface in grinding is particularly important to mechanical parts. In this paper, after the simplification of theoretical model of the parts, we can use software such as WORKBENCH and MATLAB to obtain the temperature field of grinding and numerical simulation in case of 45# steel. Subsequently, it also makes use of LS-DYNA to carry out micro-morphology’s simulation in the process of grinding. Then it can significantly verify the previous simulation’s results. We preliminarily obtain the mechanism of the grinding burn on parts surface. It also shows the concrete impact on temperature field with the changing of grinding parameters. Finally we can receive the method to minimize the grinding burn.

It plays an important role in guiding laser remanufacturing process and process control to research temperature field of laser remanufacturing. A numerical simulation method of temperature field based on MATLAB PDE Tool is proposed. Theoretical model of temperature field is presented. The temperature fields at different times are calculated and simulated with finite element method and MATLAB software with PDE Toolbox. The results show that this method can accurately calculate the temperature distribution of the laser remanufacturing process. The simulation results are helpful to optimize process parameters and to improve the quality of laser remanufacturing.

We study the impact of Russian regional governors’ rotation and their affiliation with private sector firms for the quality of investment climate in Russian regions. A theoretical model presented in the paper predicts that these factors taken together improve “endogenous” property rights under authoritarian regimes. This conclusion is confirmed empirically by using Russian regional data for 2002—2010; early in that period gubernatorial elections had been canceled and replaced by federal government’s appointments. This is an indication that under certain conditions government rotation is beneficial for economic development even when democracy is suppressed.

The paper describes multi-section round bloom casting using external MEMS, equipped with max section D600mm and min D280mm mold, the center line of D280mm mold not coincident with the axis of stirrer coils. it is exist eccentric electromagnetic stirring of mold which section less than max D600mm, a mathematical model of MEMS has been established, the index of central segregation of D280mm macrostructure had decreased less than 1.12 by optimized parameters of electromagnetic stirring and SEN immerse depth, in the end, the quality of round bloom had improved.
