Resistance training (RT) is considered the most important method to improve the athlete’s strength and rate of force development (RFD). In the last decade, the importance of monitoring velocity during RT has drastically grown, because of an increased availability of linear position transducers (LPT) and inertial measurement units (IMU). The purpose of this review is to analyze the existing literature on testing techniques and performance strategies used to enhance strength and power performance of elite athletes, by monitoring the velocity of resistance training. The authors focus in particular on the level of effort of resistance training defined by velocity; how the loss of velocity correlates with the degree of fatigue and how it can be used to enhance the performance of competitive athletes; the use of LPT as part of the daily routine of the strength and conditioning programs in competitive sport. It is therefore critical for the sports scientists to have a correct understanding of the basic concepts of the velocity-based training and their application to elite sports. The ultimate goal is to give some indications on the velocity-based resistance training integration in the programs of different sports in the high performance environment.

Trace constituents, which can be very loosely defined as those present at concentration levels below 1 percent, often exert influence on structure, properties, and performance far greater than what might be estimated from their proportion alone. Defining the role of trace constituents in the microstructure, or indeed even determining their location, makes great demands on the available array of microanalytical tools. These demands become increasingly more challenging as the dimensions of the volume element to be probed become smaller. For example, a cubic volume element of silicon with an edge dimension of 1 micrometer contains approximately 5×1010 atoms. High performance secondary ion mass spectrometry (SIMS) can be used to measure trace constituents to levels of hundreds of parts per billion from such a volume element (e. g., detection of at least 100 atoms to give 10% reproducibility with an overall detection efficiency of 1%, considering ionization, transmission, and counting).

The aim of this study is to explain the role of remuneration in improving the performance of library employees. This study uses the qualitative method which the population is all employees numbering 17 people. Based on interactive analysis methods and ethnographic techniques, its took In-depth interview and observations. Using this analysis, the result showed that the remuneration has an important role in improving employees performance. Some internal and external factors influence it so that optimal performance is obtained. Generally, employees expect that the remuneration has been high to be accepted like as expected. Most employees demands such remuneration to meet their daily needs. External factors also has a strong role so the employees demand high, but not balanced with high performance.

The purpose of this chapter is to outline the phenomenon of low performance often seen in the training of charismatic children. In particular, charisma is considered to be the ability of the child to achieve a particularly high performance in one or more areas and is usually perceived as an asynchronous development between his cognitive, emotional and biological development. "Under-performance" means a student's low performance, which runs counter to his / her mental potential and the potential that this entails. In fact, it is a mismatch between possibilities and performance and refers to the pupil's image, which while having the potential, but the results of his effort are not the expected ones. The causes are attributed to the different way of learning adopted by charismatic children, to their desire to be accepted by their peers, while the family environment also plays an important role. For this reason, the role of the educator, who must be aware of the importance of timely intervention and of using the appropriate educational methods for the integration of the child into the group, is important.

This study investigates whether and how the impact of drivers of aspiration levels changes across the cases of consistent and inconsistent performance feedback within the context of a retailer. Analysis of internal corporate data shows that while past aspiration level and performance–aspiration gap positively influence the current aspiration level in the case of inconsistent feedback, performance feedback consistency changes only the impact of performance relative to peers. This study replicates past research in a different industry and country due to limited empirical evidence, introduces real-world complexity into aspiration theory, pinpoints performance–aspiration gap as the primary performance feedback, introduces a new sign for the impact of performance relative to peers, and reconciles its previously detected mixed impact. The findings suggest that organizational attention has an inward focus in the case of inconsistent feedback. The results also point out that leaders can trigger change through a performance outcome that lags behind the corresponding aspiration level rather than the performance of peers and eventually move their organizations toward high performance targets by starting with feasible rather than stretch goals.

Computer systems have evolved significantly in the last years leading to high-performance systems. This, however, has come with a cost of large power dissipation. As such, power-awareness has become a major factor in processor design. Therefore, it is important to have a complete understanding of the power and performance behavior of all processor components. In order to achieve this, the current work presents a comprehensive analysis of power-performance efficiency for different high-end microarchitecture configurations using three different workloads: multimedia, scientific, and database. The objectives of this work are: (1) to analyze and compare the power-performance efficiency for different workloads; (2) to present a sensitivity analysis for the microarchitecture parameters in order to identify which ones are more sensitive to changes in terms of power-performance efficiency; and (3) to propose power-performance efficient configurations for each workload. The simulation results show that the multimedia workload is the one achieving the highest efficiency but the database workload is the most sensitive to parameter changes. In addition, the results also show that the parameter sensitivity depends significantly on the workload. While the issue width and clock frequency present very high sensitivity across all workloads (approximately 100%), for the database workload, the first-level instruction cache size shows an even higher sensitivity (149%). The correct configuration of these microarchitecture parameters is essential. A careless configuration of a single parameter from a baseline setup may result in a loss of the power-performance efficiency of up to 99%. Finally, carefully tuning multiple parameters simultaneously may result in gains up to 154% over the power-performance efficiency of the baseline configuration.

The employees’ need of appreciation emerges in the form of rewards, empowerment and training, the supply of which fuels up performance of employees gaining indirectly by the organization through the interactive organizational practices grooming their skills which is tested and hypothesized many times. This study contributes by taking into account the inclusion of Creative Performance along with the other tested performance levels and also tests the mediating role of Work Engagement in the established relationships. This study helps in establishing this unique relationship observing the role of mediation also. The effects are analyzed with SPSS (21) and AMOS with Structural Equation modeling. Data is gathered from frontline employees of 06 cities of the Bahawalpur Division in Pakistan. The results show that rewards, empowerment and training foster Work Engagement that in turn elevates levels of Performance of Hotel Industry employees. The findings of this study will rebound to the benefit of the organizations regarding the success factors of their employees at workplace as they can get novelty of service ideas through employees. Its implementation will ultimately result in HR techniques to be adopted to achieve higher levels of performance in future. There are many other High-Performance tools like, Realistic Job Previews, Innovation Programs and Performance based Pay. Future studies can be conducted to assess the impact of these factors also. In addition, some psychological constructs may be included to enhance its area of application and know underlying reasons of divert behaviors. Due to drawbacks of the percentage-based approach, velocity-based training was proposed as a method to better and more accurately prescribe training loads to increase general and specific performance. The purpose of this study was to perform a systematic review of the studies that show effects of velocity-based resistance training on strength and power performance in elite athletes. Electronic searches of computerized databases were performed according to a protocol that was agreed by all co-authors. Four databases—SportDiscus with Full Text and MEDLINE via EBSCO, SCOPUS, and Web of Science—were searched. Seven studies were found which researched the effects of velocity-based resistance training on athletes after a given training period. The analyzed studies suggest that applying velocity losses of 10–20% can help induce neuromuscular adaptations and reduce neuromuscular fatigue. Using velocity zones as part of a separate or combined (e.g., plyometric) training program can elicit adaptations in body composition and performance parameters. Moreover, velocity zones can be programmed using a periodized or non-periodized fixed velocity zones protocol. Lastly, obtaining instantaneous feedback during training is a more effective tool for increasing performance in sport-specific parameters, and should be used by sport practitioners to help keep athletes accountable for their performance.

The article theoretically substantiates the role of the most important factor in the menu - MENU - LAYOUTS for athletes of different qualifications. The facts about the need for a correct understanding not only of the general principles of nutrition, physiology and food hygiene, but also the role of macronutrients and micronutrients are presented. About their action and interaction. But it is impossible to make a MENU-LAYOUT and choose a diet that would be equally suitable for all athletes and, moreover, would be equally effective for all of them. Metabolism, health and tasks are different for everyone. The fact is that when compiling the MENU-LAYOUT for athletes of different qualifications it is necessary to take into account literally all the knowledge about nutrients. And answer the question - what, where, when and how. Because, the menu will be made, will depend not only on the coverage of daily energy expenditure, but also the mood of the athlete, which more often will depend on the physiological processes taking place in his body. Therefore, the importance of the MENU LAYOUT does not call into question its paramount importance for athletes of different qualifications. Since a well-planned menu in general is in turn a basis for improving their performance. An athlete who follows a balanced diet, including both the number of calories and the composition of macro- and micronutrients is always easier to adapt to physical and mental stress. However, it should be noted that, despite the fact that there are already multiple tables of nutrients, the compilation of a rational MENU-LAYOUT for athletes of different categories remains problematic and needs constant improvement.

Project managers have always endeavoured to effectively implement project controls systems during execution of projects to enhance rates of projects successes. However lack of understanding of the role of diversity of experiences among the workforce has hindered the ultimate performance of the project control systems in influencing the performance of construction projects. This paper sought to establish the extent to which project team experience diversity influence on the relationship between implementation process of project control systems and performance of rural roads construction projects in Kenya. The study adopted the pragmatism paradigm and the correlational survey research design. Descriptive statistics were analysed using frequencies, percentages, arithmetic mean and standard deviation while inferential statistics were analysed using Pearson’s Product Moment correlation (r), simple regression and stepwise regression (R2). Ftest was used to test the hypotheses. Tests of statistical assumptions were carried out before analysis. The results indicated that with r= 0.533, R2 = 0.284 F (1,195) = 77.208 at p=0.0000.05, the null hypothesis was failed to be rejected and therefore concluded that the significant relationship between implementation process of project control systems and performance of rural roads project does not depend on the interaction between implementation process of project control systems and project team experience diversity. It was therefore recommended that project team experience diversity among the professionals should be encouraged, communicated and shared for the common purpose of achieving high performance in projects.
