Background: To investigate the short-term effects of different types of anti-glaucoma eyedrop on sclero-conjunctival vasculatures and their associations with intraocular pressure (IOP) reduction. Methods: This was a prospective study including 20 healthy subjects. A single instillation of ripasudil or bimatoprost was introduced into the right eyes of the participants. The superficial (conjunctival) and deep (intrascleral) vasculatures of the corneal limbus using anterior-segment optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) and IOP were examined in both eyes at baseline and 15 min and 2 h after instillation. Results: In the ripasudil group, the vessel density (VD) (median) at baseline (deep, 13.1%; superficial, 28.5%) significantly increased in both layers at 15 min (deep, 19.9%; superficial, 37.3%) and the deep layer at 2 h (deep, 14.8%; superficial, 31.6%). In the bimatoprost group, the superficial VD significantly changed over time, but the deep VD did not. The greater effect of ripasudil on IOP reduction was significantly associated with a lower baseline VD in the deep layer (at 15 min, p = 0.004; at 2 h, p = 0.018). Conclusions: Differences in the timing, depth, and extent of the effects on vasculature after instillations, could be detected using OCTA. The IOP-lowering effects of ripasudil might be associated with the deep vasculature.

Abstract This paper presents the ecological grounds of interaction between animals and their living habitats, which in economic terms is referred to as damages. In addition, an analysis of the legal and economic aspects of the liability for damages caused by wild animals in different types of natural habitats was carried out. Liability for damages is a special law in relation to the general principles of civil law in this area. At the same time, it is also limited, both objectively and subjectively. The increase in the interaction of animals with environments, which results directly in the size of compensation amounts paid, is closely associated with the dynamics in the number of damaging species, whereas the specificity of the damage results from the behavior of perpetrator animals. Multidirectional preventive measures using different methods generally produce short-term effects and their use is not always economically justified.

Purpose: To report a case of macular telangiectasia (MacTel) showing the features of type 3 disease in one eye and type 2 disease in the other eye. Methods: Descriptive case report Case description: A 50-year-old well-controlled diabetic man presented with complaints of distorted vision in the right eye for the past 1 year. His best-corrected visual acuity in both eyes was 20/20, N6. His anterior segment findings were normal. The right eye fundus showed an irregular perifoveal greying and a localised dark patch temporally inside the perifoveal region. Few microaneurysms were seen on clinical examination. No hard exudates were noted. The left eye fundus showed a few microaneurysms with minimal perifoveal greying temporally. Imaging with confocal blue reflectance, fluorescein and optical coherence tomography angiography confirmed the diagnosis of MacTel type 3 in the right eye and type 2A stage 2 in the left eye with mild non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy in both eyes. Conclusion: This case raises the possibility that type 3 disease could be a progressive non-proliferative form of a pre-existing type 2 MacTel disease.
