The implementation of quality processes is essential for an academic setting to meet the standards of different accreditation bodies. However, processes are complex because they involve several steps and several entities. Manual implementation (i.e., using paperwork), which many institutions use, has difficulty following up the progress and closing the cycle. It becomes more challenging when more processes are in place, especially when an academic department runs more than one program. Having n programs per department means that the work is replicated n times. Our proposal in this study is to use the concept of the Tomasulo algorithm to schedule all processes of an academic institution dynamically. Because of the similarities between computer tasks and the processes of workplaces, applying this method enhances work efficiencies and reduces efforts. Further, the method provides a mechanism to secure the integrity of the reports of these processes. In this paper, we provided an educational institution case study to understand the mechanism of this method and how it can be applied in an actual workplace. The case study included operational activities that are implemented to assure the program’s quality.

Quality has become an increasingly important and critical success factor at higher education institutions, particularly universities. Numerous discussions have been held about education quality in the context of sustainable development. However, the quality of that education strongly depends on the overall quality of the management system which operates at schools. The principal aim of this article is to present the approaches to the quality management systems’ development and their assessment at universities, and share some lessons learned from this area of research. Some possibilities of the ISO 9001 standard’s implementation, as well as the application of excellence models as a response to community demands, will be discussed, especially in the context of the recently-introduced Act No. 111/1998 Coll on Higher Education Institutions, which requires quality assurance and quality evaluation. A case study from The VSB-Technical University of Ostrava shows approaches, results and effects of the quality management system implementation.

Quality management is an approach to management which requires establishing quality policies, procedures and practices on regular basis. Engineering education is a process of developing techno human resources, which are to be used later as input to industry which in turn produces goods and services for the societal use. Having considered the current situation of the engineering educational system and the quality of all its individual components it can be noticed that the awareness of the importance of education as a foundation for the growth and development of the country, such as India, is not strong enough. Engineering graduates passing out from educational institutions have to fulfill modern and high standard requirements that are needed by industry. Therefore, there is a greater need to instill quality in engineering education to produce technically skilled and creative man-power in India. The continuous assessment of quality is of paramount importance for educational institution. Education efficiency and success does not depend just on quantity but as well on quality. This paper has discussed key points for the improvement in the quality of engineering education with a case study undertaken at various engineering colleges in India. The study was conducted in two phase; first phase is the critical investigation of the literature and the second phase is a study on the quality of engineering education provided by the educational institutions in Visakhapatnam city. A simple random sampling technique was adopted for the study. A research study described in this paper identifies and analyses the quality of engineering education at the educational institutions which adopt the total quality management system to increase the quality and meet the industrial requirements and then suggests some ingredients to improve the quality.

The interaction of quality management and knowledge management are analyzed quite widely in scientific literature and discussed with reference to various models integrating these two management theories. However, there are not enough precise tools that could provide a possibility of improving the quality of products and services through knowledge management. To this end, the article examines the already existing models for the interaction between quality management and knowledge management. The results of a survey on Lithuanian industry show what organizational knowledge is the most important while implementing quality management principles aimed at improving quality. The correlation analysis method showed the relationship between quality management principles (process approach, continual improvement, management, facts) and the factors defining the product and process quality (the extent of determining process execution time, process resources, costs of process stages, indicators for products and/or services, the duration of the process, the extent of measuring indicators, the extent of collecting information on indicators, the extent of collecting information about the costs of the process). Santrauka Kokybės vadybos ir žinių vadybos sąveika mokslinėje literatūroje analizuojama gana plačiai, aptariami įvairūs sąveikos modeliai integruojant šias dvi vadybos teorijas. Tačiau nepakankamai nagrinėjamos konkrečios priemonės, kuriomis būtų galima pagerinti produktų ir paslaugų kokybę pasitelkiant žinių vadybą. Tuo tikslu straipsnyje analizuojami jau egzistuojantys kokybės vadybos ir žinių vadybos sąveikos modeliai bei pateikiami Lietuvos pramonės įmonių tyrimo rezultatai, parodantys, kokios organizacinės žinios svarbiausios įgyvendinant kokybės vadybos principus, skirtus kokybei gerinti. Taikant koreliacinės analizės metodą nustatyta, kad egzistuoja ryšys tarp kokybės vadybos principų (procesinio požiūrio, nuolatinio gerinimo, valdymo remiantis faktais) įgyvendinimo lygio ir veiksnių, apibūdinančių produktų ir procesų kokybę (procesų įvykdymo laiko nustatymas, procesų išteklių nustatymas, procesų etapų išlaidų nustatymas, produktų ir (ar) paslaugų rodiklių nustatymas, rodiklių matavimas, rodiklių informacijos rinkimas, informacijos apie proceso trukmę nustatymas ir informacijos apie proceso išlaidas rinkimas).

Hajj guidance group (KBIH) in Indonesia, still limited to quantity and have been not yet met the quality. One indication of the lack of quality of the KBIH is the quality management of inputs, namely the applied inputs and inputs of expectation. With good input and good, it can produce an out put that as expected. This study aims to determine the quality management of pilgrimage inputs by KBIH in Indonesia, represented by three regions, West Java, DKI Jakarta and South Sumatra. The method used in this research is case study with qualitative approach. This study shows that quality management for one dimension of input, especially in KBIH has not met the quality management standard. Implementation and embodiment is still limited to ideas, wishful thinking, and not conceptualized well. The results of this study have an impact on how the quality management of KBIH input in Indonesia should be implemented, so that with good input in KBIH, KBIH can improve the quality of Hajj in Indonesia. Input is a starting point in a quality assurance process, not to be ignored, underestimated, and considered not one of the important parts of quality management of its existence.

Abstract. Today's society has entered the era of big data, and the quality of surveying and mapping results has become the focus of government departments. As the statistical results of other industries, surveying and mapping results as one of the basic data sources provide data support for government decision-making, The status of surveying and mapping projects is constantly improving. This article introduces the ISO9001 quality management system implemented by the surveying and mapping production unit, the CMA quality management system implemented by the surveying and mapping quality inspection unit, and the first-level acceptance system for the two-level inspection of surveying and mapping products. Through the cause and effect diagram, taking the quality control of the fundamental geographical conditions monitoring of the national major surveying and mapping project as an example, the use method of the core tool 5M1E (Man, Machine, Material, Methods, Measurement, Environment) in the quality management system is demonstrated to prove that the quality management system plays an important role in the project.
