While several studies have shown how telemedicine and, in particular, home telemonitoring programs lead to an improvement in the patient’s quality of life, a reduction in hospitalizations, and lower healthcare costs, different variables may affect telemonitoring effectiveness and purposes. In the present paper, an integrated software system, based on Sentiment Analysis and Text Mining, to deliver, collect, and analyze questionnaire responses in telemonitoring programs is presented. The system was designed to be a complement to home telemonitoring programs with the objective of investigating the paired relationship between opinions and the adherence scores of patients and their changes through time. The novel contributions of the system are: (i) the design and software prototype for the management of online questionnaires over time; and (ii) an analysis pipeline that leverages a sentiment polarity score by using it as a numerical feature for the integration and the evaluation of open-ended questions in clinical questionnaires. The software pipeline was initially validated with a case-study application to discuss the plausibility of the existence of a directed relationship between a score representing the opinion polarity of patients about telemedicine, and their adherence score, which measures how well patients follow the telehomecare program. In this case-study, 169 online surveys sent by 38 patients enrolled in a home telemonitoring program provided by the Cystic Fibrosis Unit at the “Bambino Gesù” Children’s Hospital in Rome, Italy, were collected and analyzed. The experimental results show that, under a Granger-causality perspective, a predictive relationship may exist between the considered variables. If supported, these preliminary results may have many possible implications of practical relevance, for instance the early detection of poor adherence in patients to enable the application of personalized and targeted actions.

Sentiment Analysis (SA) is a current field of study in text mining. The subjectivity of text, sentiment, and opinions are treated computationally by SA. This study examines the sentiment of the tweets containing “#metoo”. As a comparison, the same analysis was performed on the MenToo movement. MeToo started picking up significance in India with the expanding ubiquity of the global development, and later gathered sharp force in October 2018 in the film business of Bollywood, focused in Mumbai, when Tanushree Dutta blamed Nana Patekar for lewd behavior. An Indian filmmaker has joined calls for the development of a “#MenToo” movement for men’s rights, saying it should be “as important as #MeToo. This case study gathers around 20,000 tweets from the major cities of India for the duration of a week. Tweets were analyzed through the ‘sentiments’ dataset of tidytext (afinn, bing, nrc) and RSentiments dataset. The goal was to understand the overall sentiment better and find the associated patterns. With the hashtag analysis, it can be seen that #metoo was associated with the film industry, whereas #mentoo was more rooted in the cause. The comparison of likes and retweets shows that the #metoo movement has over 70% more engagement than #mentoo.

The uncritical application of automatic analysis techniques can be insidious. For this reason, the scientific community is very interested in the supervised approach. Can this be enough? This chapter aims to these issues by comparing three machine learning approaches to measuring the sentiment. The case study is the analysis of the sentiment expressed by the Italians on Twitter during the first post-lockdown day. To start the supervised model, it has been necessary to build a stratified sample of tweets by daily and classifying them manually. The model to be test provides for further analysis at the end of the process useful for comparing the three models: index will be built on the tweets processed with the aim of detecting the goodness of the results produced. The comparison of the three algorithms helps the authors to understand not only which is the best approach for the Italian language but tries to understand which strategy is to verify the quality of the data obtained.

Purpose Misophonia is a sound tolerance disorder condition in certain sounds that trigger intense emotional or physiological responses. While some persons may experience misophonia, a few patients suffer from misophonia. However, there is a dearth of literature on audiological assessment and management of persons with misophonia. The purpose of this report is to discuss the assessment of misophonia and highlight the management option that helped a patient with misophonia. Method A case study of a 26-year-old woman with the complaint of decreased tolerance to specific sounds affecting quality of life is reported. Audiological assessment differentiated misophonia from hyperacusis. Management included retraining counseling as well as desensitization and habituation therapy based on the principles described by P. J. Jastreboff and Jastreboff (2014). A misophonia questionnaire was administered at regular intervals to monitor the effectiveness of therapy. Results A detailed case history and audiological evaluations including pure-tone audiogram and Johnson Hyperacusis Index revealed the presence of misophonia. The patient benefitted from intervention, and the scores of the misophonia questionnaire indicated a decrease in the severity of the problem. Conclusions It is important to differentially diagnose misophonia and hyperacusis in persons with sound tolerance disorders. Retraining counseling as well as desensitization and habituation therapy can help patients who suffer from misophonia.

This paper presents a successful behavioral case study in treatment of chronic refractory cough in a 60-year-old adult female. The efficacy for speech-language pathology treating chronic cough is discussed along with description of treatment regime. Discussion focuses on therapy approaches used and the patient's report of changes in quality of life and frequency, duration, and severity reduction of her cough after treatment.

So far, in implementing school strategies, they tend not to utilize Information and Communication Technology (ICT), despite the availability of ICT resources available. Stages of strategic management are needed to generate the vision, mission, objectives, policy, program, budget, and procedures as well as control and evaluation process as an effort to utilize ICT to improve school quality. Based on the interpretation and the results of the study, it is concluded that schools have organized stages in strategic management that enable schools to have a quality profile. The impact of effective utilization of ICTs for schools is the achievement of effective school management, as per the National Education Standards, which is characterized by effective planning, implementation, control, and evaluation of school ICTs.The purpose of this study is to get a general description, describe, and reveal the Strategic Management of Information and Communication Technology Utilization to Improve the Quality of School Learning in Ciledug Al Musaddadiyah Vocational High School and Garut 1 Vocational High School, both on environmental analysis, strategic formulation, implementation and strategic evaluation. The research method used in this research is the case study method, because the problems studied occur in the place and situation of Ciledug Al Musaddadiyah Vocational School and Vocational High School 1 Garut. The use of case study models in this study is based on the consideration that to provide an overview of the strategic management activities of the use of ICTs carried out at vocational high schools with the ultimate goal of being able to improve the quality of school learning. Based on observations in the field of SMK 1 Garut and SMK Al Musaddadiyah Ciledug Garut is one of the public schools and private schools that have these advantages.

In this article, we evaluate the effectiveness of Cone Beam Computed Tomography, through a case study, in assessing the complication of intracranial bleeding during an endovascular treatment of brain arteriovenous malformation when compared to Multislice-Detector Computed Tomography performed immediately after the procedure. The image quality of Cone Beam Computed Tomography has enough diagnostic value in differentiating between haemorrhage, embolic materials and the arteriovenous malformation nidus to facilitate physicians to decide for further management of the patient.

A novel method was developed for the determination of linting propensity of paper based on printing with an IGT printability tester and image analysis of the printed strips. On average, the total fraction of the surface removed as lint during printing is 0.01%-0.1%. This value is lower than those reported in most laboratory printing tests, and more representative of commercial offset printing applications. Newsprint paper produced on a roll/blade former machine was evaluated for linting propensity using the novel method and also printed on a commercial coldset offset press. Laboratory and commercial printing results matched well, showing that linting was higher for the bottom side of paper than for the top side, and that linting could be reduced on both sides by application of a dry-strength additive. In a second case study, varying wet-end conditions were used on a hybrid former machine to produce four paper reels, with the goal of matching the low linting propensity of the paper produced on a machine with gap former configuration. We found that the retention program, by improving fiber fines retention, substantially reduced the linting propensity of the paper produced on the hybrid former machine. The papers were also printed on a commercial coldset offset press. An excellent correlation was found between the total lint area removed from the bottom side of the paper samples during laboratory printing and lint collected on halftone areas of the first upper printing unit after 45000 copies. Finally, the method was applied to determine the linting propensity of highly filled supercalendered paper produced on a hybrid former machine. In this case, the linting propensity of the bottom side of paper correlated with its ash content.
