Brazing was one of the earliest material-joining methods to be invented and widely used by humans. In the past 30 years, the technology and materials employed for brazing have developed rapidly and continuously. With the rise of the international new industrial revolution, the manufacturing industry is moving towards diversification, and brazing filler metals are also evolving in the direction of eco-friendliness, compounding and diversification. In the “carbon neutral” environment of 2021, green composite brazing materials will become mainstream. In this paper, the classification and characteristics of flux-containing brazing materials are summarized, and the preparation technology, composition design and typical application of composite brazing materials such as flux-cored brazing filler metal, flux-coated brazing filler metal and powder metallurgy brazing filler metal are analyzed. The article highlights the problems encountered in the research and development of composite brazing materials and proposes future development directions, such as with low-silver and cadmium-free brazing filler metals, the creation of new powder brazing filler metal-forming technology and improvements to the quality of brazing filler metals by shape control and performance optimization, to accelerate the process of brazing automation.

Due to the worldwide competition of manufacturing industry and the development of virtual reality (VR) technology, virtual assembly (VA) has attracted many researchers to reduce development cost and improve product quality. As a typical application of VR in engineering, VA has become increasingly important for modern industry. In this paper, a survey of research progress about VA is analyzed. The conception and architecture of VA are introduced at first, the classification is also presented, then the main research contents and key techniques are discussed, finally the limitations and future works are pointed out.

Abstract In this paper, we design the simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) protocol for massive multi-input multi-output (mMIMO) system with non-linear energy-harvesting (EH) terminals. In this system, the base station (BS) serves a set of uplink fixed half-duplex (HD) terminals with non-linear energy harvester. Considering the non-linearity of practical energy-harvesting circuits, we adopt the realistic non-linear EH model rather than the idealistic linear EH model. The proposed SWIPT protocol can be divided into two phases. The first phase is designed for terminals EH and downlink training. A beam domain energy beamforming method is employed for the wireless power transmission. In the second phase, the BS forms the two-layer receive beamformers for the reception of signals transmitted by terminals. In order to improve the spectral efficiency (SE) of the system, the BS transmit power- and time-switching ratios are optimized. Simulation results show the superiority of the proposed beam-domain SWIPT protocol on SE performance compared with the conventional mMIMO SWIPT protocols.

With the depletion of petroleum energy, the possibility of prices of petroleum-based materials increasing, and increased environmental awareness, biodegradable materials as a kind of green alternative have attracted more and more research attention. In this context, poly (lactic acid) has shown a unique combination of properties such as nontoxicity, biodegradability, biocompatibility, and good workability. However, examples of its known drawbacks include poor tensile strength, low elongation at break, poor thermal properties, and low crystallization rate. Lignocellulosic materials such as lignin and cellulose have excellent biodegradability and mechanical properties. Compounding such biomass components with poly (lactic acid) is expected to prepare green composite materials with improved properties of poly (lactic acid). This paper is aimed at summarizing the research progress of modification of poly (lactic acid) with lignin and cellulose made in in recent years, with emphasis on effects of lignin and cellulose on mechanical properties, thermal stability and crystallinity on poly (lactic acid) composite materials. Development of poly (lactic acid) composite materials in this respect is forecasted.
