The current era of industrial economics necessitates warehouse and logistic distribution centers (DCs) to contribute productively toward an organization’s success. Playing such a critical productive role implies that logistics activities must be practiced effectively and efficiently. However, the indistinguishability between effectiveness and efficiency leads to a somewhat shallow interpretation, and consequently, a diluted evaluation. Hence, this paper aims to develop a productivity evaluation model for nine DCs belonging to an international automotive vehicles and spare parts company. The developed model was set up based on two multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) approaches: the Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment of Evaluations II (PROMETHEE II) and data envelopment analysis (DEA). PROMETHEE II was employed to evaluate the effectiveness, while the DEA was utilized in order to measure the efficiency of the investigated DCs. The resulting hybrid model collectively creates what can conceptually and practically be considered a productivity evaluation model. The results also provide six different strategies through which distribution center locations can be evaluated in order to implement potential future initiatives.

The location analysis of logistics distribution centers is one of the most critical issues in large-scale supply chains. While a number of algorithms and applications have been provided for this end, comparatively fewer investigations have been made into the integration of geographical information. This study proposes logistic distribution center location analysis that considers current geographic and embedded information gathered from a geographic information system (GIS). After reviewing the GIS, the decision variables and parameters are estimated using spatial analysis. These variables and parameters are utilized during mathematical problem-based analysis stage. While a number of existing algorithms have been proposed, this study applies a hybrid metaheuristic algorithm integrating particle swarm optimization (PSO) and genetic algorithm (GA). Using the proposed method, a more realistic mathematical model is established and solved for accurate analysis of logistics performance. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, Korea Post distribution centers were considered in South Korea. Through tests with several real-world scenarios, it is proven experimentally that the proposed solution is more effective than existing PSO variations.

An 'operational-data-base' is a common archive of information. The OLTP's are utilized for everyday exchange handling and don't satisfy the out of the requesting assignments of data preparing and information examination. Another structure technique is required to outline OLTP DB's information into MD information display. The MD information display is an objective data reproduction originates from the undertakings, they have measure of information, and however they can't get to it. They utilize a similar pursuit designs everyday and information more often than not will be not set up for a simple questions. The MD show speaks to a measure that relies upon an arrangement of measurements, which gives the setting to the measure it is a choice to exhibit that as hyper 3D square, that are the realistic way and calculated model or by the patterns in a consistent model. Beforehand DWH plan and improvement connected specially appointed approaches. Extending number-of associations are actualizing information distribution centers to fortify their choice emotionally supportive networks. This accompanies the difficulties of the populace and the occasional refresh of information stockrooms. In-this’ postulation, a device is presented that-furnishes clients through-highlights toward-make a-stockroom list-and-change structures of the source ‘data-base-into-structures’ for-the distribution center data-base. This-is profoundly intelligent, simple to-utilize as-well-as shrouds the basic multifaceted ‘nature-of-physical-SQL-code’ age as-of-its clients. Attributes from source tables can be mapped into new traits in the stockroom data-base tables utilizing total capacities. At that point, applicable information is consequently elated as-of-the’ cause-record in-to-the’ recently made distribution center. The instrument along these lines incorporates stockroom creation, composition mapping and information populace in-to-a solitary universal-reason-means. The instrument has-been’ planned as-a part of-the-structure in-support-of a mechanized information distribution center. Clients of this structure are the data-base chairmen, who will likewise have the capacity to synchronize updates of different replicas-of-the-information’-distribution center. Distribution center pictures that should be refreshed be full disconnected as-well-as ‘claims-to-want-to’ get into-the-information-store’ would currently be able to get to any-of-the-additional picture stockrooms. The controlling-submission incorporated with it as-well-as system toggles amid data-bases into-the-mode-that-is absolutely straightforward in-to use thus-they don't understand presence of numerous replicas-of-the-information’-stockroom. Essentially, even non-specialized clients can make, populate and refresh information distribution centers with insignificant time and exertion. Finally a DSS will rebuild for making and analyses for concrete queries.

Due to the important advantages it offers, gamification is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world, and interest from the market and from users continues to grow. This has led to the development of more and more applications aimed at different fields, and in particular the education sector. Choosing the most suitable application is increasingly difficult, and so to solve this problem, our study designed a model which is an innovative combination of fuzzy Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) with the Measuring Attractiveness by a Categorical Based Evaluation Technique (MACBETH) and Shannon entropy theory, to choose the most suitable gamification application for the Industrial Manufacturing and Organisation Systems course in the degree programmes for Electrical Engineering and Industrial and Automatic Electronics at the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineering of Ciudad Real, part of the University of Castilla-La Mancha. There is no precedent in the literature that combines MACBETH and fuzzy Shannon entropy to simultaneously consider the subjective and objective weights of criteria to achieve a more accurate model. The objective weights computed from fuzzy Shannon entropy were compared with those calculated from De Luca and Termini entropy and exponential entropy. The validity of the proposed method is tested through the Preference Ranking Organisation METHod for Enrichment of Evaluations (PROMETHEE) II, ELimination and Choice Expressing REality (ELECTRE) III, and fuzzy VIKOR method (VIsekriterijumska optimizacija i KOmpromisno Resenje). The results show that Quizizz is the best option for this course, and it was used in two academic years. There are no precedents in the literature using fuzzy multicriteria decision analysis techniques to select the most suitable gamification application for a degree-level university course.

With the development of modern logistics system, the automatic logistics distribution centers have been built in most tobacco enterprises. The packaging system plays important role in the distribution center, it is necessary to construct a set of scientific method to evaluate the packaging system mode. According to the real situation of tobacco logistics distribution center, the cost and benefit are set to the general goal. For these three modes of packaging system, packaging by hand, automatic packaging and packaging by heat-shrinkable material, the evaluation index system and hierarchical structure are built. Refer to the hierarchical chart and the principle of AHP, the weight of each index is calculated. On the basis of weight that worked out by AHP, the final evaluation result can be found and analyzed follow the principle of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. Finally, reference the consequences of the FCE, the DEA model based on FCE is used to enhance the integrality and systematic of the evaluate result.

Due to the node failures incurred by intrusion threat, a wireless sensor networks will initiate topology re-generation, which is based on correct availability evaluation of current intrusion-tolerant topology. The paper proposes an availability evaluation model based on semi-Markov process (SMP) to estimate topology availability of the intrusion-tolerant topology concerning the effects from intrusion behaviors. In view of some limitations of node computation ability and storage ability, this model reduces the complexities resulting from modeling the different intrusion threats and is set up on the uniform intruding results to simplify the model design. Using the DTMC model embedded in SMP topology availability is computed and finally we analyze the sensitivity to parameters in the model.

The fundamental assumption of variable control charts is that the data are normally distributed and spread randomly about the mean. Process data are not always normally distributed, hence there is need to set up appropriate control charts that gives accurate control limits to monitor processes that are skewed. In this study Shewhart-type control charts for monitoring positively skewed data that are assumed to be from Marshall-Olkin Inverse Loglogistic Distribution (MOILLD) was developed. Average Run Length (ARL) and Control Limits Interval (CLI) were adopted to assess the stability and performance of the MOILLD control chart. The results obtained were compared with Classical Shewhart (CS) and Skewness Correction (SC) control charts using the ARL and CLI. It was discovered that the control charts based on MOILLD performed better and are more stable compare to CS and SC control charts. It is therefore recommended that for positively skewed data, a Marshall-Olkin Inverse Loglogistic Distribution based control chart will be more appropriate.

Distribution center plays an important role in the whole supply chain, and distribution center location decision is the core content of logistics systems analysis. Based on the analysis of the object of supply chain distribution center location, the main influence factors of the supply chain distribution center location were divided by using the ISM model, and a multi-grade hierarchical structure diagram of distribution center location was designed. By combining qualitative and quantitative methods, the hierarchical relationship of the main influence factors of supply chain distribution centers location is clarified.

PurposeThe cost-optimal analysis is not able to address the multi-dimensionality of the decision according to the new European objectives and International sustainable development goals in the field of the nearly-zero energy building (NZEB) design. The purpose of this paper is to study the role of multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) for guiding energy investment decisions.Design/methodology/approachThe paper explores the Preference ranking organization method for enrichment of evaluations II (PROMETHEE II) application to support the project of transforming a rural building into a NZEB. The evaluation provides an estimate of the effects of alternative energy efficiency measures, involving energy consumption, life cycle costs, carbon emissions, property value and indoor comfort criteria. The study performs a multi-actors analysis in order to understand how different consumers' point of views can influence the final choice of the best investment. Furthermore, a multi-site analysis explores the spatial variation of NZEB building appreciation in the real estate market.FindingsThe PROMETHEE II-based model ranks 16 alternative solutions for the NZEB according to energy, economic and extra-economic criteria. The multi-actors analysis highlights the configuration of the NZEB building that best meets the needs of different end-users, respecting the European directives and national standards. The multi-site analysis concludes that location does not change users' appreciation and not influence the output for the best solution.Originality/valueThe MCDA occurs as a support tool that helps to optimize the preliminary design phase of NZEB through the exploration of the optimal solution considering crucial criteria in the energy and environmental and real estate market rules.
