This article presents a method to determine the blocking probability (non-availability) for strictly determined multi-service resources that belong to a group of multi-service resources. The dependencies obtained during the process correspond to the Palm-Jacobaeus formula derived for the group of resources servicing single-service traffic. The approach to determining the blocking probability is based on the determination of the availability of resources at the occupancy level of allocation units. The analytical results are compared with the obtained results of the simulation experiments for a number of selected parameters of multi-service groups of resources. The results of the present study indicate a high accuracy of the proposed solutions. The elaborated extension of the Palm-Jacobaeus formula can be used in the modeling of separated wireless resources in cellular networks.

The paper proposes a new method for modelling multiservice cellular networks with traffic overflow. The proposed method employs a model of Erlang’s Ideal Grading (EIG) with multiservice traffic and differentiated availability. The fundamental advantage of the proposed method, as compared to other relevant methods, is a major simplification in modelling systems with traffic overflow that results from the elimination of the necessity of a determination of the parameters of overflow traffic, that is, the average value and the variance. According to the proposed method, calculations in the overflow system can be reduced to calculations in a system composed of one grading only. The paper presents the method for determining availability in such a grading that models a system with traffic overflow. The results of analytical calculations were compared with the results of simulation experiments. The results of the research study confirm high accuracy of the proposed method.

This paper proposes a new analytical model of a multiservice switching network with overflow links in the first stage and resource reservation for selected call classes in output directions. The proposed model assumes that both the overflow mechanism and the resource reservation mechanism can be used in a number of selected, or all, classes of calls. A particular attention is given to the way the effective availability parameter for networks with overflow links in the point-to-point selection mode is determined. The proposed model makes it possible to determine dependencies between the internal blocking probability, capacity of overflow links, and the number of reserved resources for call classes to be analysed. Simulation experiments confirm high accuracy of the proposed method and potential applications of the model in engineering issues.

We show that the degree of oxidation of graphene oxide (GO) can be obtained by using a combination of state-of-the-art ab initio computational modeling and X-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS). We show that the shift of the XPS C1s peak relative to pristine graphene, ΔEC1s, can be described with high accuracy by ΔEC1s=A(cO−cl)2+E0, where c0 is the oxygen concentration, A=52.3 eV, cl=0.122, and E0=1.22 eV. Our results demonstrate a precise determination of the oxygen content of GO samples.

Atomic emission spectrometry with high accuracy, short lag time, and low detection limit, it has been widely applied in various fields. The application of atomic emission spectrometry in the converter steelmaking process has an important significance to improve the smelting of speed and steel quality. This article describes the principle of atomic emission spectroscopy (AES) analysis. Spectra obtained by the experimental for qualitative analysis, detected molten steel containing titanium element.

This paper presents an analytical method for the determination of minor metals in white cast iron fused buttons. This method enables the measurement of metals in cast iron with rapidity and excellent analytical results. Buttons of 40 g appear to be ideal but smaller button samples can be tolerated. The fused buttons have good homogeneity, very slight weight loss, and no significant change in composition. Metal cast spectrochemical samples are analyzed in an inert atmosphere utilizing a high voltage spark.

The biggest difficulty of hidden Markov model applied to multistep attack is the determination of observations. Now the research of the determination of observations is still lacking, and it shows a certain degree of subjectivity. In this regard, we integrate the attack intentions and hidden Markov model (HMM) and support a method to forecasting multistep attack based on hidden Markov model. Firstly, we train the existing hidden Markov model(s) by the Baum-Welch algorithm of HMM. Then we recognize the alert belonging to attack scenarios with the Forward algorithm of HMM. Finally, we forecast the next possible attack sequence with the Viterbi algorithm of HMM. The results of simulation experiments show that the hidden Markov models which have been trained are better than the untrained in recognition and prediction.

Recent accomplishments in advancement of accurate astrometric reference star catalogues, development of digital imaging technology, high accuracy tiltmeter technology, and geocentric coordinate availability provided by GNSS, have made possible accurate, fast and automated determination of vertical deflections using astrometric methods. Zenith cameras for this kind of measurements have been developed or are being developed by several research groups. The paper describes a research project by Institute of Geodesy and Geoinformation, intended to design a portable digital zenith camera for vertical deflection determination with 0.1” expected accuracy. Camera components are described, proposed data processing algorithm and preliminary results, obtained with prototype instrument, are presented.

The actual problem of the possibility of using the equations of state for the gas phase of natural gas at temperatures below 250 K is considered. To solve it, the compressibility coefficients of natural gas obtained experimentally with high accuracy are required. The technique was developed and experimental study was carried out of compressibility factor aiming expanding temperature range of the state equations GERG-2004 and AGA8-DC92. The proposed technique is based on the fact that to assess the applicability of the equation of state, it is sufficient to obtain the relative value of the compressibility coefficient and not to determine its absolute value. The technique does not require complex equipment and provides high accuracy. The technique was tested on nitrogen, argon, air and methane. Uncertainty of determination of the compressibility factor is not greater than 0.1 %. For two different compositions of natural gas, obtained experimental data were demonstrated that the equations of state GERG-2004 and AGA8-92DC provide uncertainty of the calculation of the compressibility coefficient within 0.1 % in the temperature range from 220 K to 250 K and pressure below 5 MPa.
