Research on teacher professionalism has been extensively studied by other researchers, but giving the concept of the caliph to the solution of its development has not yet been found. This study aims to explore the professionalism development of Madrasah Aliyah teachers by strengthening the concept of the caliph. This type of research is quantitative with ex post facto approach.  I set 320 male and female teachers in public and private madrasas in 12 districts / cities in one of the provinces in Indonesia as a research sample. The questionnaire was used to measure the concept of the caliphate and the professionalism of madrasa teachers. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-tests, ANNOVA, and simple linear regression. The results showed that the promotion of the concept of the khalifah teacher was at a high stage, while professionalism was at a low stage. There are differences in the concepts of male and female teacher caliphs, length of certification and length of teaching of teachers, while in terms of teacher age there are no differences. There is a strong influence of strengthening the concept of the caliph in developing the professionalism of Madrasa aliyah teachers. This study concludes that the strengthening of the caliph concept contributes significantly in developing the professionalism of Madrasah Aliyah teachers. This study recommends that the Ministry of Religion adopt a policy of developing teacher professionalism by strengthening the concept of the caliph in madrasa teachers in Indonesia

Many efforts have successfully been implemented by both public and private institutions to advance women entrepreneurship, recognized to be an indicator of overall social development. Despite several efforts, women still represent a minority share of entrepreneurship, specifically among the emerging economies. A study conducted to understand the status of entrepreneurial competencies among the male and female genders in India has proved that women were equally competent to men on the required entrepreneurial competencies. Among the 10 entrepreneurial competencies tested, women were found to be marginally inferior only on three competencies. The degree of difference is very marginal, and the effect size is quantified to be only up to 25% of the sample, which would easily be overcome with further efforts. In view of the observations, the chapter proposes to concentrate on the gender gap rather than skill gap to improve women entrepreneurship, specifically among the emerging economies.

One of the most important factors, in managing change effectively, is the nature of leadership exercised Much has been written on the subject of leadership, but most of it has emanated from US studies of ‘distant’ leaders (e.g. CEOs). We undertook research into the nature of ‘nearby’ leadership (day-to-day behaviours of line managers), in UK public and private sector organisations, since such behaviours must be embedded in the organisations' culture if effectiveness is to be sustained. This paper describes the findings from our major investigation, involving over 4,000 male and female managers and professionals, which resulted in a new model of leadership of a very different tenor to the dominant US ones. It also describes how we have used the 360-feedback instrument developed from the research—The Transformational Leadership Questionnaire (TLQ)—to support culture change programmes, and the major barriers to the effectiveness of such interventions.

This chapter looks at the ways by which women in Western Europe, Britain, and the United States were associated with religion. It addresses the fact that the discourse of secularism, despite its promise of universal equality, made women's difference the ground for their exclusion from citizenship and public life more generally. However, the chapter suggests that it was not because religious ideas about women were left in place. Instead, the apostles of secularism, in France and elsewhere, offered what they took to be entirely new explanations for women's difference from men, rooting them in human nature and biology rather than divine law. Gender difference was inscribed in a schematic description of the world as divided into separate spheres, public and private, male and female. In fact, in this context the association of women with religion was not a relic of past practice but an invention of the discourse of secularism itself.

Learning is natural phenomena starts with the birth; it is a gradual process of investigation of new knowledge. Every creature has their own learning styles as their biological and social nature. People have superior power to learn many things as they become interested. School is one platform to learn many things for the students. School creates the learning environment but learning style may be varied in student to student. The study aims to identify the learning styles of male and female students of public and private school of Nepal. Primary data were collected from Makwanpur, Chitwan, Gorkha and Dhading Districts among Chepang Community. The study is done among the 368 students of four districts. The three types of learning styles: Visual, Auditory, and Kinesthetic (VAK) model developed by Neil Fleming was used in field for data collection. The result shows that there is no significant different between male and female students regarding their learning styles. It indicates that achievement and performance of male and female is similar. In Nepalese society, there are some gender differences in social relationship. Still, in most of the society, daughters are given less priority for their growth and development because of the patriarchal concept of society but the study has given the different result than the general concept. It is shown that a daughter can give better result if she will get better learning environment. The result has challenged the discriminatory gender relation in society.
